The Death Knight is a wild one that Fluder captured. Fluderis worth a whole nation's military by himself. But because he has studied many different magic disciplines, he isn't specialized in any one form. Jircniv became the emperor at age 12. He had all his relatives killed to prevent anyone from opposing him. All nobles who refused to fall in line were also killed and their finances were used to fund the military and education systems. The annual war's purpose is to attack at harvest season and slowly starve Re-Estize's poor population, then attack when the Kingdom's army is too starved to fight back, then annex the county at minimal risk to the Baharuth.

The decoy Nazarick is just a wooden building. It doesn't actually look like a tomb or a ruin. Its also inside the forest, not an open field. Foresight clearly referred to this as "a dirty job" and acknowledged that it was basically graverobbing. They knew _something_ was off about this. Coming from one nation into another to explore for goods is illegal. Re-Estize adventurers would have first dibs at unexplored ruins on their nation's land. Ironically, all the Workers died ironic deaths. Gringham, who was only wary of "strong monsters" was killed by thousands of weak roaches. Parpatra, who intended to use the others as bait to test the tomb's danger, was in turn used as a test for Nazarick's defenses. And Erya, who refused to even give his name to Hamsuke out of arrogance, was brutalized by the slaves he mistreated and then "erased from memory" by Hamsuke.

The guy holding the slaves deserved the most but merely got killed while others that didn't really do anything were tortured and even were eaten and healed continuously so that they could continue healing upon them. Btw if you notice the elf girls had their ears chipped

An after credits scene on the same episode shows how Demiurge received the comment as marching ordrers for Nazarick

Also just headsup most people when they say "Equal to Royal Head Warrior" mean whem the tournament was held when brain lost in the final. That was a while ago but it was the biggest martial arts tournament in this region. So whenever someone says "comparable to RH" they mean his skill level at that tournament. And as we've seen with Brain, that's not where he's at anymore.

The chains around their necks are actually items from Yggdrasil that you equip to gain more EXP. Since some skills require EXP to perform, this experiment is to see if they can gain that EXP back. If you didn't notice, all of the maids were wearing them too. By the way, Kyouhukou (The Cockroach Demon) has been mentioned since the finale of the second season when he was mentioned torturing Hilma (The sexy woman from the Eight Fingers) by having his children eat her from the inside out, then healing her, and then repeating the process over and over again. And then back in the first episode of Season 3 with the Female Guardians displaying their uneasiness and disgust about his children's crawling all over their bodies...lucky bastards.

When it comes to many of the NPCs, always remember the guild's players were all internet trolls/meme-ers. They would deliberately mix cute/horrifying designs together (called "gap moe" where appearances/personality are contradictory) as a joke or to push the envelope to mess with each other or make each other uncomfortable. Like did you ever make a Sim or Skyrim character that was as hideous as possible? But now all these joke/prank NPCs (like the penguin butler that believes he is destined to someday rule Nazarick) have come to life... terrifyingly so. But they are still important/precious to Ainz cause they are mementos of his friends.

My favorite part. Nazaric is the villains lair and you have to treat it as such and it really shows here. For example every single torture expert in nazaric is also a healing expert. Why? Well of course because then they don't die before they tell you everything. Anime cuts out one scene that I find very funny. There is a part where one party escapes like 20 liches. What came before in ln was a semi long fight between that party and one lich. They were going like "wow he is stronger then normal liches. He has to be a master of this Dungeon. And after the fight they opene a door and there is like 20 more of them there.

The worker that wakes up in the torture chamber is the someone as the guy in armor who is eaten alive, that is the Nazarick treatment, your eaten alive healed, tortured, eaten alive again and so on.

32 gold can feed a family of 3 for 3 years and the lamp is 15 gold. Let that sink in....... The Adventurer's Guild is very strict in rules and policy. To operate and remain neutral to all affairs, they had to follow the strict agreements between the government and the church. They can't interfere in any form of actions of nobles and officials are doing to their citizens either good or bad. They are also only allowed to heal fellow adventurers and are forced to make the rest pay a fee for their healing more expensive than the church provided. Only adamantite adventurers have the balls to bend the rules since they are very rare and are now very essential to the Adventurer's Guild and it's nearly impossible to find someone able to kill them.

I don't know if you guys have watch episode 8 yet, so I will avoid spoilers, but the following is something that is in the manga that they only mention like once in episode one that is important to the next episode. The Overlord's name is Momonga (Japanese: Mo-mo-n-ga). This is where he gets his warrior name from by dropping the last letter (Japanese: Ga) making him Momon. The reason he wanted to be called Ains Ool Gown is because that was the name of his guild and he was looking to see if his friends came to this world as well. The guild was also fairly famous as their base, The Great Tomb of Nazarick, was considered impenatrable. So he decided to spread the name of Ains Ool Gown to attract any possible players that may be around. This is important because Ains Ool Gown is not actually his name but the name of his Guild, that Momonga and his friends built. I hope this helps.

The metal collars gives a boost to XP gain in exchange for slightly lowered stats. Ainz is also currently wearing one to test if he can go beyond level 100 in the new world.

Overlord dub is Superb! You should watch it, I would watch your reactions to that as well. So Ainz-sama asked them why would you put your life on the line to go into this new area that has no information, they responded with they have paid us enough money to put our lives on the line. Ainz-sama gave them thousands of gold and jewels along with other items that were at net worth hundreds of thousands of gold in the new world and yet they still push forward into the tomb, they didn’t take the offering at the top of the 1st floor of Nazarick, and so there death was guaranteed, I like how most people say he’s evil after this but to put it in my terms if someone goes to your home and tries to rob you are you not going to defend yourself or your things? There monsters so in defense after they kill you they eat you lol that’s just a bonus for them. I can’t wait for the next episode I want to see what you guys think make sure to see thru to the very end.

The bit that ainz mentioned about world conquest was tail end of either episode one or two when he's flying up in the air with demiurge.

The annual war between the Empire and the Kingdom is actually very low key, with casualties kept very low on both sides (relatively). The Empire initiates the war every year at harvest time to drain the Kingdom of funds and men able to work the fields. With the men who normally bring in the harvest off fighting a war, the food rots in the fields. This only works to the Empire's advantage because they train their soldiers hard, ending up with individually strong warriors, whereas the Kingdom conscripts their army from the peasantry, which, while cheaper, means they need to field an army much larger than the Empire's in order to compete. In this way, even if every Kingdom soldier makes it back alive, the economic hit they take from all those lost crops is slowly killing the Kingdom.

From what I remember, re estize doesn't have a formal military. Or professional soldiers. Military is decentralized. Each is loyal to their own fiefs. Not particularly to the crown but the landlord. On the otherhand. This is the empires military. Highly organized, proper training. Re estize is relying on motherfucking conscription with what? 2 months training?

The chains on the neck I think are just accessories, the lizard men are enjoying their new prosperous governance 😌

Annual war is actually an incredibly masterful move. Since Emperor purged all incompetent nobles and holds power in an iron fist, along with magi-tech improvement and living standards increase, he has liberty in Baharuth Empire to hold a standing army that they casually march on the border of Re-Estize Kingdom every year during harvest season. The Kingdom is technically forced to match them with mass quantities of able-bodied peasant (over a quarter million) each year, which critically hits their harvest yields and destroys moral. After a few skirmishes, Baharuth retreats without major casualties. That way Empire 'bleeds' the Kingdom since the damage accumulates due to outfall of the vast amount of workforce not harvesting and consequent rise in protests, corruption, gangs etc. A few more years and Kingdom will just fall by itself and Empire will sweep in to take it. P.s. Kingdom also doesn't have a standing army because of corrupt and greedy nobles who don't want to give King pseudo personal army.

So Foresight don't actually want to retire, but if Archie was to leave they might not have a choice as finding a 3rd Tire Magic user is hard, and she personally trained under Fluder, and actually one of his favourite students. She only became a worker so she could pay off her family debts, as she was a student before at the country's magical school. So Workers aren't all bad, for example going back to when Ainz asked for payment for saving Nfirea, that is the correct thing to do, Adventurers aren't allowed to do work for free, while Workers can if they choose to. So as a Priest if he is an Adventurers he would need to charge for healing someone, as a Worker he can do it for free or charge as he sees fit. On the way to the tomb, the old guy asks to spar with Ainz and is beaten in a matter of seconds, leaving everyone in awe as the old guy is pretty strong. When they entered the tomb as well and found all that gold, that was Ainz giving them one last chance to turn back, but seeing all that gold made them all greedy for more, so had the opposite intention in the end. The Elf girls (slaves) if you pay close attention have had their ears cut in half, this is a common practice with slaves from the Slane Theocracy where he is originally from. And the chains around the lizardman necks are actually exp boosting items. One last thing (and this is still hardly scratching the surface for these episodes due to the details in the novel) the guys who are eaten by cockroachs will be healed and eaten over and over, this is the same thing that happened to the 8 fingers you heard about. Ainz's plan/main reason for going along with Demiurge's world domination plan is because it fits into his own plan which is to spread the name of Ainz Ooal Gown so that if any of his comrades are still in that world, they'd be able to reunite with each other. It's not as if Ainz is so clueless that he goes with everything his NPCs say. He's actually very smart. Also, Ainz only saves humans who benefit Nazarick or fit into his plans.

In the beginning ainz talked about world domination to adorn nazarick with all the precious jewels of the world. I just wonder if Ainz words during the fight in the coliseum to foresight will come back and haunt him in the end if he ends up getting his ass kicked. Cyberpunk had a similar ending where the main character ended up dead so i wonder if this will follow suit.

Ainz spent 500 million gold to revive Shalltear. Yggdrasil gold is worth 2x the gold of the New World because of its density and composition. So Ainz technically spent 1 billion New World Gold to revive Shalltear (someone capable of destroying the New World alone) while these workers are only getting 200 to explore Nazarak. knowing that 1 gold = 100 silver and 1 silver = 100 copper and about 5-7 copper is about night room rent from season 1. if we assume a motel costs about $50-70 then about 1 copper = 10 dollars. thus the workers are getting paid about $2 billion to explore Nazarak while Ainz has paid $10 trillion to revive Shalltear.

The old man who thinks the maids are the most powerful creatures in Nazarick is sorely mistaken. The maids were created to be pebbles in the way for actual player's who invade nazarick and make it to the throne room. The floor guardians are all level 100 (except for victim I believe), while the maids range from aroud 40 to 60

NPC - Non-playable Character. In terms of gaming it means AI controlled units. Can be vendors or enemies or allies or anything. Your character/avatar is a PC - Playable Character. Ains 'joking about world domination' is episode 1. The scene where he flies up into the night sky with Demiurge. He was talking about playing the game to "loot the world of riches" ie get loot in a video game setting, then casually joked about world domination being fun (it then did an action cut to Demiurge's reaction). Nabe is pronounced Na-bay btw, Japanese pronunciation and whatnot (hard 'E's) The empire they are in right now, those are the people that the Slane Theocracy were masquerading as in the attack on Cairn Village in episode 3/4. They don't do the annual war for fun, they do it to keep their rival nation on edge and to deplete their resources. E-rantel don't have a proper military and use conscripts whereas Baharut have properly trained and equipped knights. Gazef isn't from Cairne Village, but he is from a village similar to it. A place out in the boonies that regularly gets hit by raiders and empire soldiers during the annual war. As others have stated, the chains aren't for enslavement. They are experience amplifying items. Ains wears one himself cause he wants to know if he's capable of gaining xp and leveling up in the new world (he was level cap in Yggdrasil so was unable to gain xp at that time). The elf girls that were with the guy that fought Hamasuke were slaves indeed. He was a really fucking horrible human-supremacist master who detested lower races. He even cut their elf ears if you look closely. The slaves themselves did not die here. Since they were slaves and came without a choice they were spared and brought into the fold of Nazarick. Remember Ains doesn't kill innocent people unless it is somehow beneficial to him.

I would LOVE! to see you guys do the dub! Literally the only reason to not watch the dub is Climb's voice. But Ainz is BOSS in english dub

Interesting fact about the Lichs when that group entered the room there was only one in there and they thought he was the main boss until the rest showed up and they shit their pants, 4. The swordsman, the one Hamsuke killed, is formerly from the Slane Theocracy, a human supremacist nation currently at war with the elf nation, hence the reason why he has elf slaves. The bug room is the same room that Mare send that lady from 8 Fingers to. She also got the same treatment.

Once again an entertaining reaction. You got one thing wrong though. This entire endeavour is not just about an experiment. It is actually part of a way bigger plan. This is not a spoiler since the fact that Ainz or rather Demiurge is planning something has been announced before.

1. Ainz did not want to kill the workers without reason, that's why he kept all those gold and precious stuff at the entrance so that the workers can steal them and run away. So if you are greedy enough to try to sneak further into Nazarick, you are actually giving Ainz a good reason to kill you. 2. The Elven slaves are spared since they were forced to enter Nazarick. They did not enter on their own free will. The elves had their ears clipped and were raped and tortured in all sorts of ways for Erya's fun. The clothes you see them wearing aren't clothes at all, just the thinnest pieces or fabrics barely enough to cover their body so forget about protection. The elves were assigned to work under Aura and Mare in the 6th floor. Now their ears have been healed. Mind you, every denizen of Nazarick is treated as a first class citizen from the Homunculi maids to Ainz himself. The clothes that even the maids wear are of higher quality than what rich people in the New World wear. The elves now wear that quality clothes, have armours, get to eat first class Nazarick food. The elves are the only happy ending of this arc.

Those chains on lizardmen aren't slave chains. They are special items that boost learning and are more along stylized enchanted armor.
