I remember playing 2k12 with my best friend back in the day, when we both knew nothing about basketball. We played almost every single day until I moved to another country and haven't heard from him since. That was almost 7 years ago. That first two frames with the nba logo and the logos of the teams is so nostalgic and reminded me of that time. Time flies too fast.
I remember, Christmas eve I was 14 and asleep and I kept thinking about when I begged my parents to get 2k12 but was quiet because I did not want my 10 year old brother to find out Santa was not real. I was hoping I got it and when I went downstairs on Christmas morning I saw a square package and I was so excited that I almost ditched my other presents to play. I wait patiently and go to my basement and pop 2k in. I hear the words "You playing basketball!!!" I continue as I see a healthy wade and Kobe walk side by side. Bill Russell Out rebounds Amare, even julius erving does the signature behind the backboard reverse layup!!!! and to make the intro so iconic, Derrick Rose who is next in line to be the best point guard in the league makes a pass to the greatest of all time. Then the jordan moment was played and I was hooked on the game for the rest of 2012, only this and minecraft I would play. What a childhood.
favoite parts include- hakeem doing the dream shake on duncan, dirk on lebron, rose to mj almost made me cry imagine if they played togther. still the best intro ever
Seeing this intro after all this time... Man, the memories! 2012 was when I was most into basketball, so being reminded of Amar'e, Dwight Howard (when he was still at the Magic), Lebron at the Heat, and of course that final clip, Derrick Rose passing to MJ for the finishing dunk... I miss 2012, man.
0:51 There's a story where Red Auerbach noted that Russell wouldn't be a massive point scorer like Wilt. Red said, to some effect, "We're going to count each rebound as a score because it's just as important." The rest, as they say, is history.
It's not how the graphic will be in the game, it's all about how the company puts heart into the game. Look at that OP, that is what we wanna see in sports games. The culture , man.
This was the last 2K game I actually grinded tf out of…I remember getting it for my birthday and skipped a week of school just to play it 🤣 great times
this waaay better than 2k13 intro, best intro in any 2k ball game! Really love how they compare the Hall of Famers against todays players and show the oldies some recognition!
