The Sam Pham grind begins Since finding your content in 2k16 ive gotten so much better and enjoy the game more thanks to you. Keep up the great work bro.
I seriously started taking a note from this moment. The SBF 1. Set up: use a size up combo 2. Break: hesitation (escape move) 3. Finish: crossover, euro, crabbing To give an example, teacher Sam gave the following drill 1. size up: flick RS left right 2. behind escape: (while the ball is up in the air above the player's hip level) Hold RT and RS down quickly. 3. speed boost: (while the ball is up in the air above the player's hip level) Hold RT (to activate turbo) and push LS toward the basket. 4. Seal finish: Let go RT and do not let go LS toward the basket. Then finish the drill with euro, crossover, and crabbing. Will try my best to learn this! Thx for the session. What a detailed teaching.
Thanks, you explain things so thoroughly so that way no one can get lost in your guides. No one on RU-vid compares to you man! Keep it up man, you are extremely good and teaching.
Yup. Is all in the details. Once I show you guys the fundamentals and purpose with this you can learn to be creative and chain up your own dribble style
Man you’re the goat of 2k tutorials. Always explain everything perfectly to where anybody can understand it. I was hating the dribbling on this game since demo came out but now I’m starting to get it 👍🏻
Yup is a process. Size up, blow by, seal. Is like it’s on mini game. Is fun lol check out the pick and roll tutorial too, that one will help even more down the line
Thank you so much gonna take a bit to learn this but I learned a quick n a little tip I picked up while learning this is if you dribble behind your back instead of in front of you like you were displaying your chances of ball getting stolen goes down especially if you have low ball handling skills and just starting out also with the badge quick First Step also plays a big role in this
Like this a lot better than all that extra stuff in 2k19 playmakers would do this looks more real they should boost stamina a move speed across the board though
No matter how hard I try to implement these tutorials into my online gameplay I still can’t get with this game. I feel like everything I do has a 2 second lag and I can’t stay in front of someone to save my life. I think this game just might not be for me.
Excellent tutorial Sam! Perhaps I will subscribe if you can shed some light on why these badges never trigger lol- FANCY FOOTWORK, SPACE CREATOR, STOP & GO, SLIPPERY OFF-BALL, TIGHT HANDLES AND SLITHERY FINISHER. I've tried using different builds (slasher, playmaker, sharps, etc) and have maxed the badges to HOF and made sure my attributes are high enough to trigger them. Yet I get nothing! Is it just me or is the demo broken? An explanation or better yet a video showing these moves being triggered would be GREATLY appreciated. Anyone can please feel free to chime in. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Getting old lol ? I know the feeling haha but give it a go this year. The mechanics are actually very different and dribbling does feel brand new once you get the hang of it
Sam, which defense build do you think is best for a primarily solo player , the lockdown build you showed or one with more shooting ability ? Great tutorial by the way looking forward to learning more
Sami Khatib is you are asking as in on my team , most of the time but due to the fact that they are randoms a lot probably won’t have dimer( on park). Although , if you are asking as in player types then yes i play with them quite often , I wanted to switch it up this time around though
There’s this Bruce Bowen build I have in the lab. Is like the iggy defender one I made but no playmaking and just HOF shooting badges. If you are a solo defender sitting in the corner with HOF catch and shoot and corner specialist is probably the way to go
Did you know that flicking the left stick you can do (I don't know what to call it) setup moves? Also can be combined to do various shamgod and other unique dribbles.
hey Sam I still haven't had the chance to play 2k20 religiously hehe. two things I can't seem to do that I was able to do from past 2Ks are to choose: whom I want to post and to set the pick (from point guard to center). How Can I do this in 2k20? Sorry for my english it's not my native language
Do i need to get the 'ankle breaker' or 'quick first step' badges (or any others) to help with this, because I think I'm doing exactly what you say in the tutorial, but after doing the 'behind back wrap' escape, my player just doesn't seem to do the escape part! In the video he does the move and then drives to the basket straight out of it, but my player seems to freeze after the 'behind back wrap' instead of driving past the defender, meaning the defender doesn't even need to move and instantly blocks me off again!? Could it be because i only have 50 ball handling, or am I just doing something wrong. Its infuriating sucking this bad!! lol
Use RS Layups such as euros or RS dunks such as hop dunks. I suggest go to my all tutorial playlist and watch my dunking, layup, and finishing tutorials those will help a ton with seals
dánte slatt no you let go of turbo. But still holding the LS toward the basket. But make sure to remember to let go of turbo when the ball is above hip level for an efficient speed boost
I'm pretty sure this doesn't work anymore after the last update seeing I've done this hundreds of times and they can't shake Defenders even with the ankle breaker bronze badge if I'm lucky enough to pull off moves without my character being a total f****** scrub and dropping the ball 😂
I am so aggravated with this game. Every time I try to use the right stick it shoots the ball. I’ve never had this issue in any other 2k NBA game. Makes the game un playable.
I've already spent hours using that for dribbling practice and those scrimmages. I wonder if all the people complaining about the demo just don't realize that's available! Before I knew, the demo was not so useful.
Yeah its like 100 different moves with 1 stick this way that way its so stupid actually playing basketball is less complicated like im not goes to college to play this bullshit
Dude...sorry to say it, but you got speedboosting all wrong. What you discribe is a fast sprint after the dribble, but thats not speedboosting. That mechanic works in a different way. For speedboosting you do specificly not hold down RT (R2), because that costs you half a sec for getting into running stance. Speedboosting is always done without the sprint button, so that your player starts fast forward without delay. imidiatly. try it
Presbiter is correct. Faster way to go around the defender after your dribble move is done by just holding the LS toward the basket without holding R2. At that point they’ll be no need to seal him cause he’ll be still at his house and you ‘ll already be at the party.
@@SamPhamNBA2KTipsandTutorial i havent watched your t10 yet. Never the less speedboosting is defined by having ballhandling of at least 86, thats what enables you to do it. You can then do it out of the dribble moves by simply pressing LS slightly left or right of your defender, also depending in which hand your ball is. This gives you the ability to stun and blow by your defender in nearly sprint speed imidiatly without losing time for getting into running stance.
@@SamPhamNBA2KTipsandTutorial 2k20 doesn't really have speedboosting. In previous 2ks, you could do a size up move and speedboost out of it like a rocket. (Very unrealistic looking btw) now it's more fluid and realistic and not quite the speedboost we are used to
Agreed. Is kinda like a stop and go and you end up leaving faster. However tho I haven’t been doing this move with a guy with HOF first step lol maybe that guy moves like a rocket
