Most first rounders don’t immediately get inserted into the starting lineup. Hell, some lottery picks need to work their way into a starter role. Hell, most 18th picks need to work their way into a consistent role off the bench.

I'm not sure if this is the case, but it's a theory anyways so I'll still post it. So in HoF difficulty, there are sliders for different aspects of the game ( the last i played was 2k20). Now a lot of the offensive sliders are at 45 for the user, which I think applies to the whole team even in my career. So if you're shooting really well, your team will miss shots for an overall team Shooting % of 45. Just my take
