Nba2k23 is a good game but vc inflation is real. Maxing out 1 build cost over 400k, from a casual players perspective its too much.

Another Tip, you can use the Gatorade courts to learn your jumpshot since those courts have latency delay like in park/rec

They definetly need to fix the resetting the animations every game. I hate having to turn my shot meter off everytime i play, it sucks but id rather turn it off everygame then to not

I change the release to early. Made a bigger difference and the release is much quicker imo.

Even if I get a catch of dribble or do a step back I still remember how I should release my jump shot. I just do muscle memory for different ways my jump shot will shoot like a fadeaway or a stationary shot.(meter off)

I really don't know how you can pick whether early or late or very late is better until you know your jumpshot. If it's ridiculously fast without a visual cue then very late works great, if it's a slower one that you know well (like Durant) very early works great great. I couldn't settle on an option there until I picked a shot and then tried all 4 options out

Biggest change you can make is changing that memory to visual cue. The change of speed in your jumpshot is crazy this year and you really need to just focus on your release

I’m shooting 53 percent from 3 in rec there’s games where I go 4/5, some games I’m 1/3 or maybe even 2/3. My best one ever was 8/11

Find a jumper that gives you a good que to release. I watch the hands then practice practice practice. Also the speeds he was talking about early or late if you’re struggling try all of them. I tried very late because late was working but I didn’t feel as consistent as I wanted went to very late and I feel I’m more consistent now. You just have to put the time in. I spent 4 hrs trying different combos until I found something I liked I found one that has release height at A- , release speed at C+, defense effect at A and timing effect A. I could’ve spent a lot more building a jumper but I didn’t feel I needed to. Oh and I don’t shoot with a quicker release because I don’t take bad shots so I don’t need to have a quick release to get my shot off. Figure out your style of play and get to work trying to build one that will work for you.

Thnx for the video, I new to gaming and was frustrated with learning how to shoot. Can’t hit the side of a barn on this game.

Beat thing to do is go make your jump shot then go practice shooting releasing it. The game tells you if your release is early late etc. if your releasing it and almost greening it every time and it says late then you need to change your settings to early if it says early release when your shooting and it’s not greening change it to late and make sure to release it the same. This way it adjust for how your releasing it and you don’t change anything but the setting. I did this and went from shooting 5 out of 10 shots green to greening 12 in a row and hardly miss at all. My 3% is at 70%+ in the park since the change.

I look at the hands, when it goes to the forehead I know to release and that’s usually a green for me! 🙏🏽 (no shot meter on either) Still getting used to it tho as I can’t use my normal jumpshot from all other 2k’s as my mid and three doesn’t go to 87, only 79. Lol

Anyone noticed 2k updated some of the players. The bucks players alone got updated. Giannis went from 6'11 to 7'0 Jrue holiday went from 6'3 to 6'5. Brook Lopez went from 7'0 to 7'1. Bobby portis went from 6'9 to 6'11 The George Hill went from 6'4🤦🏾‍♂️

For me: With a meter: late Without meter: wrist, it's a habit I had to change because most of the jumpshots I use in this game don't jump as high.

Jumpshot boosts are definitely worth it but not like 21 and 22. In 21 it was basically impossible to shoot without them and in 22 they helped a lot. But for me personally, I have been shooting around 50 percent without them and around 55-60 with them, so if you dont have the vc dont stress it just try to learn your jumpshot and you should be mostly good.

The issue is even the perfect green shot doesnt go in. It bounces off the green back down, the meter NEVER goes into the green. I made a 99 overall players in every category. Went 0 for 18 from 3, nice game.

I'm actually just starting the my career and still using the default jump shot on my guard. So recommendations on a jump shot would actually be nice

Focus on the player shooting motion UNTIL THE VERY END (almost till it lands). Focusing on the ball or meter is very timing base and makes it very inconsistent

As of now, the issue with animations being reset is not fixed. Also, this iteration is frustrating because you hit shots that are clearly within the green area and the shot inexplicably misses. I've had this happen multiple times. The shot is at the right release point in animation and the shot meter is firmly in the green on a basic, catch-and-shoot three. Yet the shot misses. Not sure if this is lag maybe or not, but it happens in MyCareer NBA games, so I don't think it is.

I’ve been using very early shot timing release and I’ve been shooting quite well, it’s kinda just preference this year plus I used base 3 all last year so

I took my meter off in the Rec for the first time last night. I could shoot with it on, but damn is it waaaay better with it off. I could actually focus on my guy instead of the meter, its way easier to look for visual cues.

Joe is there anyway you could make a tmac build I like using taller wings with his ability to do almost everything

I feel like most jumpshots the cue is when the hand goes flat at the top of the jump

The differences in shot timing are wild. I can green perfectly fine with my MyPlayer, but I was playing Play Now against a friend and kept getting Early releases even when holding the shoot button for a good 3 seconds 💀

Pretty sure the animation reset happens whenever you go into the builder (ie looking to make a new build). No idea why, but the reset happens to me every time after I’ve gone into that builder.

Release the ball as soon as the elbow gets to chin level. Green very time on every shot on every player

Yep!!! They keep changing my animations... It's a pain in the ass!!! They've also done something to the shooting in the last 3 days. I went from being able to shoot to shooting airballs in park. I had to find a whole new jumper

I just feel that when I hit the shoot button it takes a couple seconds before the animation triggers. Like a delay compared to before games

Thank you so much for this video. I was so confused why my shots kept missing even when we’ll timed. And yes animations get switched to default often it’s real annoying. After my last Rec game it loaded my back into the city with none of my clothes.. default sweat pants and none of my jewelry.

I like watching the hands when it comes to release as well. My favorite JS animation is Michael Jordan’s JS, it’s fluid and natural. I use it all the time

the issue is there is a lag in park and rec...so u can practice as much as u want on your court...when u hit rec, the timing will be off

The Jump Shot Release timing makes it where you can match where you want to release the button within the animation of your jumper (the cue you want to release at). On my jump shot, the que for release at the height of the jumper is late and as soon as the ball is over the head is early (Very late is the flick in the wrist). It doesn’t make the jump shot itself slower or faster but it does make reaction slower or faster (if that makes sense).

Shot timing most definitely affects your animation..if you use late or very late defender have more time to close out on you to contest your shot

At least you guys still have your animations. Mine bugged out where it deleted most the animations I bought with VC. Idk what to do
