Jerry: "Hello Patrick I'm Jerry Lucas" Patrick: "I know who you are come on" Bob: "I am Bob pettit" Cp3: "I know" Kareem: "A lot of them inspired me, and I think there's 1 or 2 that I inspired" The Humbleness of the older generations is through the roof 😭
Kareem saying that he guesses that he only had like 1 or 2 in there he inspired is very humble. Kareem, you inspired generations and even today you still do.
He was always vocal in interviews about how he noticed that nobody really used the skyhook after him, so he might really think that not many people took him as an inspiration (in reality nobody did the skyhook because it's so hard to master).
@@proof4469 In reality, almost nobody else had the length to do a skyhook, and those that did mostly didn't get impacted by the short term BAN by the NCAA on the dunk.
Are you serious ? Oh man it was a joy seeing Bird play back in the day and outmanoeuvring all the brothers. I’d say he was mentally stronger than many of his peers even Kareem concurs !!
Why do y’all create these false narratives to make a disguise for the real reason you hate today’s generation of players?! Bird is sick and MJ was hanging out with everyone. Go and watch the whole thing.
God I just remembered when Rondo the bus rider thought he was equal to cp3 lol and then his career tanked and he just got kicked around the league. Riding the bus in a bubble doesn’t count for sh*t
@@wolfie71231 Gen. George Patton was right: all fame is fleeting. I imagine in about 30 years they'll be reporting how Current Hotshot Player is so much better than old-fashioned LeBron. And the beat will go on.
As a fan, how can you not get choked up? What an honor it was to have watched most of these players play. Im 57, so I was very lucky. There is one thing us fans and our heros have in common? We all grow old together.
They better have had some camera crews in there getting at least 30+ minutes of footage of that celebration. That room will sadly not have a lot of those players in it again in the next 25 years. The footage of this should be in the hall of fame and be celebrated as one of the greatest moments in the history of the NBA. This 75th anniversary will be the pinnacle of the NBA and its history.
by then there will be 25 new players so just like we missed legends like Wilt this time we will likely miss others the next time, but then Luka, Giannis and Wembenyama or whom ever will be there.
My Deceased Brother in law made the All-Star team 3 times and knew and loved many of these guys but his career was cut short due to hip dysplasia. I learned of all these guys by following him so I wish he could have finished the course in basketball and been in this room also. He was a hustler extraordinaire and no pushover. I miss him still and his name was Bob Kauffman. Rest in peace.
Closest thing is that SuperBowl ad from about 5 years ago. Remember when they were playing Keep Away and crashing tables and cakes and s***? That one was hilarious!! Certainly not the same, but it was cool, too. 🍻👍
Hey, how many Rings and how many League MVPs are in that room? Probably 60 MVPs Probably over 200 I am certainly not a math guy. But Bird and McHale and Chief have 9 right there. Michael and Scottie 12 With Rodman, what 2 more each? Somebody get a calculator and start your Google engine...
As a former hooper, this was an amazing video, but it truly bothered me to not see Kobe in this room. I am glad that the big dawg, the late, great, Mr. Bill Russell was able to be seen on screen and to see himself in all of his glory one more time. Yes, some people were downright snubbed, but hey, you know they will make the next one. This game gave me so much and even saved my life a couple of times. Cheers to the legends who sacrificed to entertain us and bring us this game! 👊🏿🖤💪🏿🙏🏿🏀
@@ianwhitehorn7077 you obviously don’t know basketball, He was one of the the top five power forward’s to ever play the game, when he played it was a man’s game, very physical every player took a cheap shot when they could, it’s not like the soft water down game of today, back then defense was actually played
Aww, that was _fantastic!_ I could've easily watched an hour of their various encounters & reminiscences. They're older, they're grayer; but they're still kickin'!! Don't even wanna think about gradually losing these fellas. :^{
That’s beautiful. If I would of entered the building and see the best players to ever do it, I would if been star struck and emotional saying hi to every Hall of Famer one by one in tears hugging ‘em.
It must be surreal as one of the older guys there like Bob Pettit who was around in the very early days, and just how much the league has grown/evolved... People are quick to say how easy the game was compared to today but without the old guys the NBA doesn't become what it is now.
I mean that’s in 25 years. Most of these guys are in their 60s,70s, 80s and 90s. Sadly the vast majority of these greats will likely not be with us anymore..
Holy sh*t! I would die to be in that room and say ‘hello’ to my BB idols! I am 65 years old and watched most of the legends as I was growing up. Big O, Jerry W, Kareem, and others. Missing were Wilt, Pistol Pete, and Bill Russell?
To be in that room of 75 years of legends would have been a priceless experience. I'm not a basketball fan but the players that dominate and those that accomplish a lot outside of playing basketball I always have love and respect for
It was Great to see The Big E ( Elvin Hayes ) sitting next to Kareem . Their College game in 1968 is still the Greatest Rivalry and Game in College Basketball History . And The most anticipated game ever #1 vs #2 in front of 57,000 fans in the Astrodome, That night belong to the Big E
What an incredible video. Honestly, I would've gone straight to the elders of the bunch, shook each and every one of their hands with tears in my eyes, and told them, "Thank YOU."
It's a beautiful thing, all of it. Seeing the old Celtics bunch up like college buddies, the older generation being recognized like it'd be crazy not to know them, and so many proud players humbled by their surroundings. Ball has always meant more than the game itself
If I were in that room, I’d be so quiet like Kawhi just to make sure I don’t say anything stupid. Just being in that room with all this legends is a blessing and a dream coming true. 💪🏼
What's amazing is that this will never happen again, most of them will not exist anymore in this world as the years pass by. We must appreciate them while they are still here.
I'm 41 yrs old ALL these ballers were killing it some bedore I was born OG MJ Shaq Bird Magic Dream Kareem the Doctor ONLY 3 were missing Pippen & Beans & Elgin Rip to them both
