I don't care whether Shaq agrees with the choice of MVP or not. The way he spoke to the Joker after he won it is simply not done. He should have just said, "Congratulations on your MVP award", and let it go at that. Shaq showed no class at all. And yes, it was disrespectfull as hell!
The best part about all this is that Nikola silently takes over and dominate everyone, on and off the court, so humble, easy going and down to earth, not a single bad word, couple of jokes, he doesnt even care about individual awards, a class act and best big man in this century, most likely ever.
Yeah bro I get you. Ball shouldn't be about race. I'm white and I love anthony edwards. Love the player. Leave race out of it. We are all brothers. Peace.
i’m still laughing that neither shaq nor chuck were on inside the nba last night after the nuggets won game 5 😂😂😂 how you gonna talk trash and then not be there to give the man props the next day
I am still laughing at how jealous Shaq is over Jokic. You would think he would want a big man winning, but his jealousy goes beyond rational thinking.
Man. Jokic silently shut everyone up. Without saying a single word. It’s magical. After game 2 EVERY SOUL on ESPN counted out jok and company. Holy shit what a turnaround.
@@cw3482The older Shaq gets the better he thinks he was. He was jealous of Kobe, now the Joker? Get with it Shaq, you weren’t as great as you think you were.
Pravi Četnik je ujak Luke Modrića ali to be bih nikad izneo, ne volim da vredjam. Sa druge strane, Somborci su poznati kao miroljubivi ljudi, nisu neki ratnici.
The fact Jokic still gets criticized like anything is crazy to me. He dominates the game in a way I have never seen. Every time I watch this guy play, it's like I am watching poetry in motion. He is the most exciting player in the league by far. Don't care if people say he's boring. Nothing is boring about his game.
Nah when you mention boring first that comes to mind is Fournier. Drops 25 pts but never shown on highlights. Jokic s passing is a thing of beauty like the other comment said. Even his scoring isnt boring bc it seems like he just throws up ehatever but it goes in. Jokic has never had a boring game
Shaq trying to act like a man to Joker's face about his MVP award is perfect. It demonstrates how a child thinks conflict resolution should be handled vs how it is actually handled by a competent, mature, and self-confident person. It's clear Joker is a better basketball player than Shaq but doesn't care about that comparison. What he does care about is being a better person than Shaq, and in that category, he dominates him and showed it during that interview.
What a breath of fresh air Jokic is …doesn’t boast, doesn’t try to show up opponents, doesn’t gloss himself with a new nickname at every stop in his career.. he just plays and wins.
In politics and history we talk often about whether we're witnessing the end of the American empire. Never thought of the current state of the NBA also being an indicator of that.
Yeah I think everyone can see it now also in the NBA, but this is just like a new beginning, a new era and let's see what happens cos next chapter is gonna be interesting
@@jordanjenkins1671cause it's pretty evident across all spectrum/fabric of your society. Col Douglas Macgregor stated it best: We're seen as selfish, unrepentant, hypocritical nation that makes enemies of all. (Not the exact words but that's the gist of it) Jokic hate only further highlights the problems inside America.
In terms of playing offense, Jokic is among the best centers, if not close to the greatest. It is crazy to have 40 pts, 13 assists, and 0 turnovers while getting defended by the DF player of the year.
@@jorgovan-ni9kz yes, since you’re terrible at detecting sarcasm, they all said it…individually. I just gave them credit for saying it collectively as a group.
As a fan of Shaq who watched him most of his career I am very disappointed at how insecure he is today. Jokic has earned everything he's won & I hope he wins another championship.
I don’t think Charles was being malicious like Shaq, he just saw what we all saw those first two games. Shaq was just being ignorant as hell, he wanted to see Nikola fail to keep him away from being in the Shaq conversation
Down 0-2, I didn't think it would be a legit sweep, but I would've been hard pressed to pick the Nuggets at that point "on paper" I underestimated the Nuggets ability to adjust and just play better, and over-estimated the Wolves ability to handle getting "punched in the mouth" and then recover. Setting aside how incredible Jokic has been, AG has been a life saver to the Wolves size in the paint.
Yeah, he also didn't understand what Michael Malone said. Malone didn't blame the media for saying Nuggets are done, he agreed with them, he just used what they said as motivation.
@@chadwendt8702 Same I didn't drop any hot takes either way after game 2. Just said that Denver wasn't fully awake after the Lakers series and we'll wait and see whether Mike Malone and Jokic can figure out adjustments or not.
exactly, they're blaming gobert even though no one can actually stop jokic, they're like "gobert is the dpoy and he can't guard jokic, he didn't deserve it", okay, then who the f*** can? like there's anyone in the league that can stop jokic, he's the best player in the world for a reason
Jokic has made a fool of Kendrick Perkins, now made a fool of Shaq this year! When are these two clowns gonna stop hating on the Joker? He keeps making idiots of them!
Jokic and the Nuggets showing everyone how a champion responds. I said it after game two, never underestimate Jokic and Murray. They're good in the regular season but when they hit the playoffs they're a whole new beast to contend with.
I was upset when the sports media started turning against Jokic and his regular season performances. All the loudmouths in the sports media said he wasn't worthy of winning MVP. After the Nuggets were 2-0, I said to myself, "I really hope Jokic and the Nuggets prove these haters wrong." I hoped they would turn things around so they could shut up haters like Stephen A and Shaq. I was shocked at how Shaq treated the MVP on live television. Instead of praising him for his accomplishments at such a crucial moment when someone is receiving an award, Shaq decides to bash him and tell him that he's not worthy of being named MVP. That was so tasteless and unprofessional. It was neither the time nor the place to make such a comment while awarding someone the MVP.
Yes and Jokic handled it perfectly. " That's OK No hate. Everybody's entitled to their opinion" What a gentleman. And I noticed there is definitely a racial component. SAS didn't include Doncic in top 5 for MVP. Neither did Charles. Though I still like Charles. I really think it's time for people to call out SAS for his disgusting racism. But no one says a word. When Francesca went on with him and didn't mention anything. I completely lost respect for him.
@@Wheresthelove7, I agree, Jokic is such a humble player. Not to mention, he is a team player, and that is what I like about him. He understands that basketball is a team sport. He is not like other basketball players who think they are the best and it's all about them, and are big trash talkers proclaiming to be the best player in the NBA.
People would say Jokic looks slow on tv but that clip at 2:20 is crazy, he fakes out the defender, spins, throws it high of the glass and a crazy angle, we then follow the ball which misses, then out of no where Jokic teleports to the other side to tip it back in over 7 footers. amazing.
Just watch the reaction of his teammates to his receiving his MVP award and you will see where the hate/jealousy comes from. Ever seen that kind of admiration for LeBron from his teammates ?
I said the same thing today! Remember AD stayed seated when LeBron broke the all-time scoring record? Murray, AG, etc will give Jokic genuine, high praises and all celebrated him getting his 3rd MVP. His team highly respects and loves him. They're truly selfless and AG credited Jokic for that Sunday.
Nuggets lose two games, one by 26, media experts tells me "it's over. it's a sweep. " Nuggets win three stright games, one by 27, and media experts are telling me "its not over, the wolves can still win game 6," and some are picking them to win both 6 & 7. Its more subtle but the hate is still there.
He's a 2nd round pick, not American, and he's white. That's why. And also, what really ticks the media and some legends is that, for Jokic, basketball is not the most important thing for him, it's just a job. That's what drives these people crazy. They feel like he disrespected the game
@@JD-xs2si💯on the MONEY. If Joker was black & American 🇺🇸 & playing ball in EXACTLY the same way, their attitudes towards him would be totally different. Black folk can be just as prejudicial as white folk & I’m saying this as a BLACK man myself. I’m just not American, I’ve also travelled the world and seen many cultures. 50% of Americans don’t even own passports, and it shows.
Jokic and the Nuggets have saved the NBA from being completely unwatchable. I'm hoping they don't lose another game to really make them eat their words.
@@triktizzda1612 Not nuggets hater but rather Jokic hater, Remember he ran the narrative for Embiid winning MVP last season by basically saying "If voters vote for Jokic again they are racists"
I think it's fine for Shaq to have voiced his differences about the MVP award amongst Ernie, Charles, Kenny, and other analysts. MVP is always a subject of debate and discussion. But once you have the MVP winner in front of you as a guest on your show, it's disrespectful to tell them point blank you don't think they deserved it.
Joker the Point Center. This dude absolutely will be in the GOAT conversation when it’s all said and done. This should’ve been Joker’s 4th straight MVP. Skills beyond skills.
Shaq's insecurity is showing he's afraid Jokic will eventually pass him on the all time list of top players. Shaq still has 4 rings, but it's his own fault he didn't win more MVP awards because he used the regular season to get into playing shape.
I think I recall Shaq recently saying he is starting to take issue with Jokic because he's becoming competition now, so jealousy/insecurity is definitely beginning to form.
He's the most insecure big man of all time, and a bully. Imagine if Jokic had prime Kobe. But Shaq can have his opinion on who he felt deserved the MVP. He's not the only one thought that. I honestly thought they wouldn't give it to him, because it seems more like a popularity contest than any actual criteria. It seems to be whatever narrative is being told wins it. If we are being serious, LeBron and Jordan should have won MVP almost every year. But that's not how the award works.
@@chauvintookaknee4blm268 I like the Joker and I'm an MJ fan. But you Joker fans trying to say Jordan had it easy is a fucking joke to me. Because 98% of you didn't even watch his career or even understood the game back then. He's got 6 titles with 2-3 peats. We can talk about Jokers Dominance when his career is over. Right now, he's killing it and deserves the recognition from the league. Oh, I forgot, I also like how humble the man is.
You guys overestimate Jokics feelings about what others think or talk about him, he couldnt care less. He does not have this " i show him " mentality, he just plays his game.
From being called weak and an undeserving MVP, into making Gobert look weak and undeserving of a DPOY. Crazy Joker. I guess credits for the team as a whole for adjusting, and Jokic himself for being more careful on the ball.
Noone called Joker undeserving MVP just a few analysts on ESPN who are like wrong 98% of the time. Same with Shaq. Who comes closer to being wrong 99% of the time.
@@vulcanraven9701 saying someone else deserve mvp doesn't equal saying another doesn't deserve it. You can say I am happy with both Luka and Joker winning MVP. This means they both deserve it. ESPN has become a joke of an organization where they prefer clicks and ragebait over actuall analyst work.
Jokic is the return of basketball, and I love to see younger players such as Anthony Edwards saying he is the best in the world and taking him as an example. It seems that the 2010s narcissistic attitude tired the basketball community, and finally, during the 2020s, we are witnessing the next shift with the return of fundamentals and real basketball as style and stance.
Let's not forget Shaq was pretty crappy in the last 2 minutes of the fourth and it was exactly when Kobe shined but yet cry baby "I got robbed of MVP's" Shaq got FMVP's. I won't say the Joker is perfect, but he is really not only great but also impactful! And the fact of him being himself, not caring of popularity and especially being the selfless leader which was recognized by Gordon, not some media superstar, makes him even more valuable! Kudos to that!
i honestly respect the hell out of jokic and completely respect the whole joke where he just wants to clock in and clock out and go home because the entire media is against you no matter how many mvps you win, so if the league hates you why would you give a shit back
Kind of hard to argue against Jokic for season MVP when he’s averaging nearly a triple double. 3 more assists per game than SGA Joker shooting better percentage wise and shooting slightly better from deep over SGA. Men Lie, Women Lie ….numbers don’t lie
Solid narration. Shaq could shoot and make baskets not due to his skills but due to his size-weight-aggression ratio, getting so close to the basket that could not miss. Nikola is a true center who has the real skills at all levels.
I'm a long time Nuggets fan.....but after the first 2 games, TWolves looked WAY better.........dominating performances. NOBODY thought Denver would or could respond the way they have. It's truly special what they've done since then.....and don't forget, it's not over yet.
3 mvps and he is 29! Shaq was a bruiser. Jokic has finess, wonderful court vision, great passer, etc. There is no comparison - Jokic may end up being the best center ever and top 10 all time period.
I need Dallas vs Denver for the West finals just to see the NBA media cope and seethe to see the top 2 west teams with both thier top stars being elite Euro players.
@@marc-andrejean7592 They treat him as if he was American anyways, Toronto is also in the NBA so it barely makes a difference. Their issue is with Europeans coming in and dominating even though basketball was never that popular in Europe aside from a few smaller countries like Serbia. That and the fact they're white, lets not pretend otherwise.
@@marc-andrejean7592 Sure, but with Dallas vs Denver, Espn will be forced to talk actual basketball instead of race baiting (First Take, im looking at you)
@@Swaggernaut64remember when Luka scored 73 pts and SAS said it was because of bad defense. Remember when MacClung won 2 slam dunk championships and he wouldn't even mention his name. This year Luka essentially averages a triple double and isn't in his top 5 for MVP. Smith take your grotesque hatred somewhere else
Jokic is the best player in the world by a large margin. If anyone disagrees with that is either a plain hater or it’s race driven.. There’s no other reason to not consider him the best in the game.. there is not one player in the league that is more impactful when they are on the court than Nikola Jokić. And what’s crazy is it looks like he’s doing it without even breaking a sweat. He has cranked it up every single game as they get deeper into the playoffs. I’ve been watching basketball basketball and have been a Suns fan my whole life and I haven’t seen a player impact their team more than the joker. Obviously he doesn’t have the resume that LeBron James has or Michael Jordan but if this man keeps it up for another 7 to 10 years, we could be talking about him as the greatest player ever. He doesn’t speed or quickness to dominate so I feel like he can maintain this level of play or get better for years.
He is already bored of the NBA...he is already one of the best ever to do it...he will win 1 or 2 more championships and will retire to have fun with his horses...thats his passion and we must respect that...basketball is just an hobby for him to get some money and have a great life for his family...Jokic is a REAL men, those serbian guys still know what is valuable in life, they have honour must of the other NBA players just want to show their swag and sh*** like that!
And if you don't agree he's the best player in the game then come with a great argument. Haven't heard a great argument yet. Too many terrible arguments out there: "Analytics don't mean nothing" "He only beat a 7th and 8th seed last playoffs. He never beat anybody good." "He'd be just another white euro in the 90s"
Omg if Jokic wins the title again this year shaq is gonna somehow claim “it was do to my motivation in the second round that he got this chip” and that it was somehow a Big Man Alliance test and that was shaq’s plan all along
Shaquille O'Neal did not have half of Nikola Jokic skills in basketball. Let's not pretend we have forgotten the "Hack-a-Shaq" technique to get him to shoot free throw and he failed miserably.
What's crazy too is Shaq only had MVP consideration in 2005 because the Miami Heat's record improved greatly after trading a couple starters for him. He was worse statistically than his LA form. Wade also made a huge jump that season. So voters had to decide who was more valuable to their team -- Shaq or Nash? Shaq went 2nd and Nash won. Nash didn't steal any MVPs from Shaq!
@@jordanjenkins1671 finally someone says it. For 10 straight years in the nba per play by play stats, a Steve Nash team was the number 1 offence(including his mavs stint). Nobody has ever replicated anything like that.
I told my friends the other day they were crazy for counting out the nuggets after going down 2-0. For one Minnesota is a young team playoff wise and 2 Denver has been all the way through the playoffs. It’s all 1 game at a time. But most of all YOU CANT COUNT OUT JOKIC. People think he’s a passer but his pace and strength can’t be matched by anyone guarding him. And also his touch is the best I’ve seen. He always knows where the rim is, he can just toss the ball and score it. He’s HIM
I was shocked and blindsided by what the wolves did in games 1-2. I thought if any team could right itself after that it would be the Nuggets but it looked so bad. After game three I sort of breathed a sigh of relief. Jokic is just too good of a player to simply disappear like that! Now here we are!
Jokic reminds me of when Agent Smith killed neo, but then neo came back and absolutely destroyed the agent and everyone else. Nobody believed he was The One, but he was
Jokic doing all these awesome performances guarded by 2 seven footers, the best defense in the league, and in games where most would panic and crumble. Not only is he consistent like no other player in history, but he ruses up when needed most. IQ is on a different level too even compared to someone like Luka, who would make boneheaded plays at times. Jokic goes for what is needed & efficiency.
Thank you for reminding people on how Shaq hated on Howard and Bynum, showing that his hate isn't based on race but his fear of his stock falling among big men
I think it's a learned behavior that Shaq carried on from some of the great centers before him. He tells stories about Ewing and Kareem not giving him respect early in his career until he earned it, so Shaq probably thinks he's doing the same thing now. Problem is, Jokic earned these 3 MVPs and ring and FMVP so that hate needs to stop. Jokic is a proven man.
@@vulcanraven9701 Shaq is ahead of Steph but he is NOT ahead of Kobe. Shaq never won untl Kobe came along. And aside from the first 2 years of Kobe's career all of the playoff sweeps that Shaq experienced were when Kobe was not his teammate.

Shaq is the epitome of subjectivity in the case of Jokić receiving 2024 mvp award. Disgusting and disrespectful behavior on behalf of Shaq during the interview with Jokić.
I'm a Nuggets fan, and I like the Wolves. Love Ant. I think Denver will win this series. The Wolves are gonna be a nightmare to deal with for the next like 5 years while this Nuggets team is still in tact. Ant will win a championship in Minnesota, I'd bet on that.
The ESPN set is full of people moonwalking and Spittin feathers. I’m expecting them to get to the final course of the meal Jokic served … Hot humble pie served by the MV3
