Love the graphics. Didn’t realize harden took the third spot. I wish there was a ranking for most 3s with the fewest attempts. No one would ever beat Steph. He’s in a league of his own.
@@KyleLowryRaptorsGOAT also for his career it’s 42.8% 3pt that’s higher than anybody on that list. Lol. And If you also take into consideration how defenses plays steph and how deep he takes his 3s Stephs literally a god.
@@midori4713 Yeah im not debating his percentages but just saying people gotta put it into perspective. Hes the only player in nba histroy to shoot like 12 threes a game over the course of like 5 years lol. Ray Allen only took an average of 6 throughout his career EDIT, not 12 i guess but an average of like 10.5 threes pre game for 5 years
@@curto201 yes because he is able to take those extra threes. The degree of difficulty on Steph's threes are far greater than ray Allen's for example. Steph is a known threat from three and is often doubled on the perimeter, yet is is still able to pull off ridiculous threes. Ray Allen on the other hand would not be able to take the same shots that curry was, he was a catch and shooter
He been top 3 25 years after he retired. This man carried the pacers to the playoffs. Pacers was so bad before they got him. He brought the pacers to the finals in 2000.
It's part of his success. He was real triple threat from the arc since season 2, so defenders had to guard him from 3p line. This allowed him to pass them with quick first step (a bit Jordan like) and then attack the basket...
it was because the warriors won championships. once they proved you could win championships with the 3, the flood gates opened. it's not that he's better shooter than Larry, Reggie or Ray, it's that the philosophy changed.
@johngriller4997 actually is was analytics that changed the game, he was just the face to go with it. The system wasn't a warrior thing, but came from the G league Rio Grande Valley Vipers. They implemented small ball and running and gunning 3s. It's never won a chip, warriors won because of their defense and proficient mid-range game. Most of those Years the warrios weren't one of the top 3 point shooting teams.
Dirk, Peja, Kidd, and Terry were all once top five in 3 pointers made all time. That 2011 Mavs squad really don’t get enough credit for really being the first team to truly embrace 3 point shooting
Stephen Curry: -Missed hundreds of games due to his fragile ankles -Usually sat on 4th quarters once team is winning -Surrounded by several talented players that can shoot threes -Forced to take three point shots against double or triple teams ... And still took over the entire three point leaders list.
when the fuck did steph miss "hundreds" of games? Injured in 3rd and 11th seasons, outside of that he played plenty early on. imagine how many more shots he'd have made if he properly followed through without throwing his body to the floor/collapsing like a dumbass when his forearm gets tapped
@@CinCinAttic Doesn't matter cause he shoot accurately. His all time 3pt fg% is 42% which is crazy accurate for a volume 3pt shooter. As of today, he can miss 545 consecutive 3pt shots yet his 3pt fg% will still be higher than Ray Allen.
@@CinCinAttic with some of the highest shooting percentage lol you're trolling if you think "he shoots too much" is a valid argument 😂 yeah cuz he makes them lmao would be dumb if he didn't shoot that much
The impact Steph Curry has had on the way the game is played cannot be overstated. Being able to consistently hit threes, catch-and-shoot or off-the-dribble, and from well beyond the line has really opened up the floor (for better and worse). He has 4 of the top 5 seasons and 6 of the top 10.
@Boy Wonder bruh, he helped invent positionless basketball in the NBA... He has changed the game more than almost any other player ever has, the entire league shifted their thinking because of how he plays. You're just ignorant or a hater if you don't think he's impacted the game tremendously, and either way you're WRONG! 😂🤷
@Boy Wonder ... Because of Curry lol. That's the point of positionless basketball, anyone should be able to shoot at any time from anywhere, thus big men have to now work on their three shot... Because of Curry. Big men weren't pulling up from 3 in magics time lol
it was more just the fact the warriors won. before that, everyone thought "you can't win championships shooting 3s, they're too inconsistent" and for decades, they were right.
It's not as impressive if you look at his percentages. In 18-19 he took 200+ more attempts than Steph and only made 24 more. (37% vs 44%). In 17-18 he took 200+ more attempts and only made 50 more etc etc. Still effective but he was takin SO many.
I would argue it's less impressive than you might think for a couple reasons: 1. Hardens percentage is far worse than Stephs 2. Steph has won 4 more championships than Harden 3. Harden was put on a team to be the primary scorer, Steph ended up being that so their roles were very different in their careers.
Not really. We all seen the 3 point scoring chart a couple years ago after Steph broke Reggies. James Harden was high then. He didn't "creep" anywhere.
@@Sckipt even Reggie Miller was waaay more impressive than Harden shooting at 40% for his career. Elite shooter. Harden is an avg shot chocking 3 hunting bum shooter
@@Ace7116_ Nike treats this person like a nobody. that's why they don't any Nike logo on him because it's hurting the company image. Under Armour bit the bullet , took him in and now they paid the price for it. Their stock crushes to 11 years recorded low.
What's so impressive about Curry is, all the stats are the completion of the player's career. He's still playing and has surpassed them all. I wonder how many he's going have by the end of his career?
I see curry getting 4k, maybe 4.5k. I see him playing at 37 cuz he has godly conditioning. I dont see him keeping up that level of production (400 three's a season) for the next like 5-6 seasons
I sadly wasnt born/too young to follow/watch Dell in action/prime but I was really hoping that he'd end up still somewhere on the list lmao...where does he rank now??? Agreed that the Curry's are the best basketball family in the league point blank period
@@dinomahmutovic3649 Seems you grossly underestimate our No.77 Klay the Destroyer. Even at just 50%, he still went Game 6 Klay mode twice during the playoffs, and defended superbly in the Finals. Bring so much warmth to my heart but also very insightful crazy people like larry bird fell off so early but so many more were actually just better 3 point shooters
Klay has 2213 after last year. Leapfrogged about 5 of those guys. And will pass Crawford, Terry, and Vince this year. Thought it was weird he wasn't on here, but he will be if they update it. Plus it's only in 10 years of playing (not counting the two he missed with injury).
Glen Rice and Thunder Dan you had to watch out for from three also Vince Caryer was underappreciated as a three point shooter. He was more than just an awesome dunker.
This list ends in 2003. 2004+ is the no-defense NBA and all scoring stats are skewed. It is not the same game. Reggie Miller is the all time actual defense NBA 3-point leader.
A lot of great names on that list but I have to J Kidd a lot of credit. He went from not being able to shoot at all to developing a legit 3 point shot.
Honestly if ray Allan and Reggie played in the shoot 3s more than anything else league that we watch today idk if it would been be close.. curry would still be chasing 3rd
Joe Hassett changed the game lol. I love these. Like I was watching when Reggie passed Dale Ellis and became the first real high volume three shooter, but I didn't realize how long Ellis kept making threes and challenging him.

@@foreverbooked2964 nope, it’s unlikely. Considering that Curry averaged about 320 3’s per season, he would reach about 4700 ish. 5000 is possible for sure but unlikely, especially since he will start regressing with age.
@@thunderclaws3341 umm I was just saying to put him in this era not have him playing this long. Reggie was absolutely incredible, but didn't get the green light like today. Him and Ray Allen would have had significantly more threes then they retired with if they where allowed to shoot the 9 3's a game these guys get. I think Dirk would of been higher total wise too. Curry is incredible, however most forget his dad was pretty good as well
This list is very surprising. Not the obvious names but names like Kyle Lowry in the all time list, Jason Terry I was like wow! Top ten all time 3's at one point!?
Steph is the best shooter I have ever seen. Off the dribble or catch and shoot. At the same time him and Klay are so good that they destroyed the game. Every team is trying to reproduce their scoring model, and they can't. Nobody can shoot the ball as consistent as those two.
This one is the most fascinating because the game has changed so much. A guy like Jerry West would be a KILLER 3 pt shooter in today's game and his era didn't even have it. Then you've got guys like Bird who would have taken a lot more 3 pointers the way the game is now. Even Reggie Miller probably would take way more 3s if the started over now. Klay Thompson is gonna very likely end up top 5 here, I think he already might be 5th or 6th just since this was made leading the NBA last year.
As impressive? Steph has averaged only 9 3pt attempts per year more than Harden. In essence, they have shot roughly the same amount of 3's in their 13 year careers. Harden has played 120 more games than Steph, but trail him by more than 500 3's. That's actually not even close to as impressive. Harden is at 36.1%. Curry is at 42.8%. Harden would need to make his next 923 3 pointers in a row (without a miss) to reach a percentage of 42.78%, which would still be lower than Curry.
@@AndYouAre exactly, Harden is a product of just chocking up 3s for the hell of it despite being an avg shooter. His play style was literally 3s and layups only. Analytic Harden tried to emulate Steph and couldn’t.
@@johngriller4997 Trey Young has been worst. He has a career 35.5% average. After 4 years, he has attempted 600 more 3's than Curry, but only has 65 more makes. That means Curry made almost 10% more 3's (45.4%). Some think Trae could catch Curry in volume, but Curry's slowest years were his 1st 4 years, and Trae only has 65 more. Curry has make around that many in a calendar month. Trey would need to average 276 3's per year for the next 9 years just to be on par with Steph after 13 years... Thats without injury. How unlikely is that? No player has made more than 270 3's in 4 consecutive seasons outside of Steph, and only 2 other players in history has made more than 270 3's more than once in their careers. Trey has never made more than 233 3's in any given year.
Kinda insane how fast he achieved the record and even more crazy that he still has a lot of gas left in the tank potentially. That record might just be unbreakable like Lebron's scoring record.
