I'm from the United states but watching that and hearing all the Canadian natives who have been waiting a long time for this moment gave me chills and made me happy for the canadians. Bravo.
Real Canadians love the original anthem, it didn’t do anyth8ng to offend anyone, but I guess we should change the bible, because it has mankind and not people kind what a joke, my fucking auto spell won’t even make people kind as one word because it’s not a word
@@abdallamusse7542 The lyrics first officially adopted were from Robert Stanley in 1908 and were, "true patriot love, thou dost in us command". It was changed somewhere around 1914 to "in all thy sons command" as a tribute to the soldiers fighting in the Great War. A war which ended over 100 years ago. So if you're such a fan of the "original" lyrics, you should love the current, official anthem! 😉 The change back is a long time coming.
@@abdallamusse7542 Also, "humankind" is a word. And is used often. Is that extra 2 letters/1 syllable too hard for you? Or are you just so scared of minor changes to you having positive impacts on others for some other unfathomable reason?
I’m from America and I got chills just listening to O Canada national anthem. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL SONG! And now I plan on listening to more songs sung by the tenors!
The Canadians deserved this win. Props to you Raptors! Being a Californian, I was one of the only ones supporting you, and I certainly do not regret it! Love you
I'm japanese. I can't understand language. I don't know history of these songs. And I don't have any special feelings in either the United States or Canada, but when I listen to either national anthem, tears flow. I don't know why. Just touched. GOOD MUSIC.
Canada's anthem is basically about how the country makes its citizens feel very patriotic, and it's a call to God to help keep the country beautiful and free. Ima, wakarimasuka?
Jordan Smith was wicked in the Voice... saw a handful of his performances. They were decent. Not a huge fan of the show but I respect talent when I see it. Thats Jordan. This was an incredible performance.
Nice group version. However, when the singers stop singing (sadly not here) and all 20,000 inside and 20,000+ outside start singing O Canada with full passion, then you get the real feeling, the building shaking, which is the usual, not the exception. Too bad you didn't get the reality of it.
There were no other singers that could have did this for America?!? I mean....nobody?!?!? Canada's anthem sounded really good, and that crowd was crazy loud!
Michelle Mitreski French → English For your arm knows how to wield the sword/ Your arm knows how to carry the cross/ Your history is an epic/ Of brilliant deeds//
Can't help to think the guy on the right @ 4:21 screwed up. He seemed shocked and opened his eyes, and also the furthest guy on the left seemed surprised as well.
John Smith not really new to us Canadians. There was actually a time when the mic literally broke during the US anthem before NHL hockey game ... then the Canadian crowd sang and finished the entire US national anthem for the singer. That was a feel good moment.
Anyone else find it kinda dumb how they changed the Canadian national anthem from all thy sons to all thy hearts? Not trying to start anything, just what I think.
I guess the Raptor players are American because they started undressing before the Canadian anthem was even finished. 😀 At least Gasol showed some respect even though he’s a Spaniard. They need to put the word “sons” back in the Canadian anthem. Too liberal.
Hello. The line that is now "in all *of us* command" was originally "*thou dost in* us command" prior to the First World War. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O_Canada
The USA anthem gave me goosebumps Edit I’m a Canadian and I didn’t watch the NBA finals 2019 but I think now I’m watching this in 2023 and I think that’s the best performance of our anthem before the woke culture sh*t came to our country
Ess Ji Really… I was almost in tears listening to my Canadian anthem. Did you know that the American anthem was written by a man who was a slave owner. Did you know that the American anthem actually means and stands for white supremacy
