Another 80's classic, this one is from 88/89 regular season, great game between Houston Rockets and Denver Nuggets.
Hakeem Olajuwon and Alex English stole the show.
With the erratic, high-paced, and high-scoring Nuggets, English averaged 21 points when he arrived in Denver in 1980, then proceeded with averages of 24, 25, 28, 26, 28, nearly 30 (in 85/86) season, 29, 25, 27, and 18 points per game during his decade-long scoring spree. Alex averaged 26/6/5 on 50% FG in Nuggets uniform.
Hakeem Olajuwon: 36 points, 23 rebounds, 16/31 FG.
Alex English: 37 points, 4 rebounds, 15/29 FG.
Nuggets won the game 112:110.

Great upload. Always nice to see Hakeem play and English is one of the most overlooked/underrated players ever, even his all-around game. Yes, the Nuggets were a very fast-paced, high-tempo team throughout the 80's but still a top-team many times throughout the decade (even with some good defense at some point), with Alex as their centerpiece. We have to give credit where credit is due, not to mention that Alex also had a very good half-court game, as seen here, and that catapult jumper was great, especially since he was tall with very long arms. English is the one who scored the most points in the 80's, led some very good teams, did his thing in the Playoffs plenty...

English might just be the most underrated player from the '80s, because he didn't have a flashy game and played for a non-contending team. But for a while, he was as good as anybody when it came to putting up points (not just in terms of PPG, but also efficiency).
