NBA Legends Charles Barkley, Scottie Pippen, Larry Bird, Shawn Kemp, and Detlef Schrempf honor Dirk Nowitzki in special postgame ceremony at American Airlines Center.
Barkley tells that same story every time that he's around Dirk. The funny thing about it is that Barkley changes the number of points that Dirk scored. The last time Barkley told it he said Dirk scored 52 points, but Dirk only scored 42 points this time. Lol Gotta love the Chuckster.
Respect to dirk, he never tried to form a super team, went through the ups and downs, didn’t ring chase towards the end of his career. He was a competitor a great teammate, a winner, and a real champion. Dirks one ring means more than most of these fake rings players are getting now days.
This dude got Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, and Scottie Pippen all on the same court to say how great he is, that’s a hell of an accomplishment in itself. From a life long lakers fan, Dirk was an amazing player. Looking forward to the day he and D-Wade go into the hall of fame in the same class, one of the all time greats.
I'm Spur's fan that bleeds black and silver, but damn! I have to give Dirk his props, a true sportsman, a helluva of basketball player, just a all around humble guy, and most of all thanks for him destroying that superteam they had in Miami thier first year when they were expected to win it all, loved it!!! Much respect and love for you Dirk!
Damn it's really over Dirk. Damn I'll miss him. That shot, that smile. Those mavs teams 15 50 win seasons. That incredible 2006, and 11 title. Those epic Spurs battles.
Dude imagine in the room, you have Chuck, Pippen, Kemp and The great Larry Bird all talking about you and how great of a player you were. That’s awesome, Dirk deserved it and I can’t imagine the people talking about Kobe Bryant and all the legends that have things to say.
The Story of Chuck about Dirk got me Smiling while crying about dirks anouncemnt of his retirement.. chuck's story just never get old. Thank you DIRK for inspiring me everyday to be a better person and to do good all the time. You are not just icon to the basketball game but as a great person
You'll get over it. Can you imagine how a teenager Chicagoan felt when the MJ Bulls broke up? I had to deal with the Tim Floyd years. Actually I gave up basketball for some years after that.
Thanks men, alot of comments in this video disrespect wade how the didnt come to miami, i think lets just peacefully wave our hands to these legends, no hate just love both one of the greats ever
Admittedly, I was a bit shocked at how big of an event this was. Knowing what Dirk means to the organization, I knew it was going to be huge, but I didn't think it was going to be Chuck/Pippen/Bird/Kemp/Schrempf/shoutout from President Bush huge. 😭😂 They really went all-out and it was incredibly impressive and extremely touching. I can understand why Dirk said he was overwhelmed.
Now the fun begins.Everyone steps away at some time but a new challenge is ahead . Unfortunately basketball is a young man's game ,trust me I Kow .Your body just can't take the hard and long hours of partice and your first step is pretty much gone. I stepped away from the game at 37 and life goes on . Thanks for the great basketball u showed us and u did leave the game better .
21 years I watched you Dirk and many games cheering you in both old maverick arena and the AA center ....and finally we won it in 2011..what a memory and how time pass by so quickly

I love it when when I see great people, irrespective of their professional area, appreciated in such a cordial way by legends and fans alike. Thumbs up for Dirk Nowitzki - from Bulgaria!
For you to be honor by the Greats..It means a lot...thank you Dirk for opening doors for the Global ballers..youve been an inspiration for us...to compete in a highest Level..the most unstoppable move Ive ever seen...the One legged fade away...I called it the Dirks...salute
Vlade, Drazen (RIP), Sarunas M. and Detlef were the true European force to open the gates to the NBA for the European players. Youngsters may not remember but we do in Europe.
