This is a real nice starting five. What I really love is this team can defend at all five positions. All five are also rugged and tough mentally and physical. Minus these five, it's hard to imagine a better starting five regardless of era. This team against them would be a ridiculous battle. Magic Johnson Kobe Bryant LeBron James Tim Duncan Kareem Abdul Jabaar One More: Isaiah Thomas Julius Erving Larry Bird Kevin Garnett Shaquille O'neal
@@don_2755 I don't know. I put together two nasty teams. Match them up by position and see who you would give the edge to individually. Look at the first team I put together. Magic is considered the best PG of all time. Kobe is considered the second best SG of all time. LeBron is considered the best SF of all time. Duncan is considered the best PF of all time. And Kareem is considered the best center of all time.
Sorry In the 90s I’ve got Hakeem over shaq. Fight me. Hakeem put damn near ever center in the torture chamber that decade. 1990s shaq isn’t 2000’s Shaq
I agree. Im not sure who Id take if were talking 2001 Shaq vs 1994 Olajuwon, because Shaq was SO dominant. As a Sixers fan, I never saw anyone throw around Mutumbo like he did. That being said, in his prime Hakeem gets his no matter what, and is my favorite center of all time. Olajuwon could do it all. Absolutely beautiful to watch.
@@anthonyzarate9807 people forget how tim duncan always outplayed Shaq in the 2000s. It was Kobe who was killing the spurs while timmy was killing shaq

@@cole8165 yea, u right. But because he was dirty nobody wanted him on da team. Now adays, it looks like Isaiah is pretty cool guy like he grew overall that. I wish da other guys like Jordan and Pippen would get over it and shake hands
I've just always wanted to put my favourite 5 out there. Here goes: John Stockton, Micheal Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Malone and Hakeem. Yeah, Pippen was amazing when Jordan left for a season. 😆
And he's referring to the 94' hood ass team in the Goodwill games, he's not talking about the 96' team. The 94' team had Larry Johnson, Derrick Coleman, Shawn Kemp, etc. Shaq loves cocky players like that. Barkley and Malone would wax those guys.
He’s right 100 percent. Look at the rosters. The original dream team had key players past their prime. Magic and Bird were at least 5 years past their primes. The 96 team was just as talented but they were all near their peaks.
@@coloneldusty4476 The 96' team had Pippen, Malone, Stockton, Robinson and Barkley who were all 4 years older than they were in '92. Plus Shaq is referring to the 94' team
@@coloneldusty4476 The Dream team promises to beat all teams by 30 o more points of difference and they did it, the Dream team 2 didn't, and which one was better team? this question doesn't need an answer.
@@rusbenreyes5695 So you are using their win margin vs African and European teams to justify your opinion? No, what you see is evidence of the foreign teams and players closing some of the gap after a few years of exposure to NBA players level.
Penny Hardaway is the most underrated Player of all time in my Opinion. The Man was the best PG in the NBA for like 5 consecutive Year's, and he doesn't get the Hall cause he was Injured?
Stockton Jordan Pippen Rodman Hakeem I'm not only thinking about skill level but also chemistry. I think those guys will work good together. All five really good defenders. No one besides MJ (and maybe Hakeem) absolutely needs the ball to score. Fell free to disagree but respectfully. :)
Shaq = Centre Rodman = PF Pippen = SF Jordan = SG Hardaway = PG Why? Because Shaq played with Hardaway and Rodman. Jordan, Pippen and Rodman played together as well.
People be tripping about this SF of the 90s with Pippen ......thats Grant Hill .... Yeah he won championships (Jordan) but the better head to head. Player was clealy Grant Hill
Grant Hill had no impact on the game. Grant Hill was a could have been. Unfortunately because of injuries his never reached his full potential except for maybe one season he actually scored over 25ppg.
Explain to me how he impacted the game? Because he is in the HOF? That means nothing, Grant Hill could have been a great all time player. But his career will look very similar to Derrick Rose. Best point guard in the NBA in the early years before his injuries. Atleast Rose won an MVP. Grant Hill didn't even win an MVP.
@Aaron Daneils Michael Jordan retired when Grant Hill was coming into his 2nd or 3rd year. Grant Hill was a good player. Not great. T-mac was one of the most clutch players in the NBA. Where u even around during the 90s era? Why does an mvp matter? Because Grant Hill was never good enough to win one. Even while Jordan was retired.
@Aaron Daneils your argument was that Grant Hill was a legend. You replied to my comment. So what's your argument then. Grant Hill wasn't shit in the NBA. Had a few good years. That's all. No championship, no mvp, no scoring title.
Shaq has an ego that is bigger than he is. I'm surprised Isiah was not mentioned. As a Celtic fan back then, he was absolutely terrifying. He could not be guarded but we do thank him for that pass to Larry Legend instead of Laimbeer.
Yes, Robinson is often the forgotten man in that conversation but yes, if you move Hakeem to PF, it allows to have all 3 (Robinson, Hakeem and Shaq) on the All-90s 1st and 2nd team ..Not sure how that would do in real life though, both Hakeem and Robinson played under the basket.
Scottie and Michael will forever has a champions legacy, golden dream team legacy while Isiah legacy will be having everlasting Jordan and Pippen complex. Nobody gonna remember that little weasel.
U can’t compare Scottie n grants number like that.. 1st off jordan n pippen played in triangle. Their numbers will reflect it. It’s different n hill was the man on his team. Pippen had to share with Jordan
People acting like Scottie wasn’t 2nd (maybe 3rd correct me if I’m wrong) in MVP voting the first season Jordan was gone, and like everyone says, 1 shitty blown call away from the finals. So his numbers are a touch under Grant Hill, but Pip was also the greatest defensive player of all time. It’s really no contest, Pip>Grant Hill
If the Dream Team 1 played Dream Team 2 in 1996 - they'd get crushed... But if you compare them to 'prime' Dream Team 1 would kill any other team. Period.
Apparently these Guys have some sort of Personal issue with Penny Hardaway.. When Jordan himself was asked who his successor should be he said Anfernee Hardaway without Pause.
@@CH-kk7rw He was a 4 time All-Star, and during those 4 Year's he was the top PG in the League, and top 5 Overall. The Odds a Player even makes the NBA is like 2%, it's an Elite Group. And if you can rise to the top of that Group for 4 consecutive Year's you belong in the Hall.. In my opinion of course.
1St Team Michael Jordan, SG John Stockton, PG Hakeem Olajuwon, C Karl 2nd Team David Robinson, C, Charles Barkley, PF Clyde Drexler, SG Gary Payton, PG Penny Hardaway, SF
Isiah the only small guard to lead a team to a championship until Curry people forgot how great he was losing to Chicago was inevitable pistons was getting old just like the Celtics was getting old when the pistons beat give that man his flowers
Your right like me, I choose the same same, Penny was a monster PG in Orlando like Shaq as a center, not championship for them because the 90's decade was dominated by Jordan and his Bulls.
Pippen is better than grant hill no doubt Grant would’ve been better if not injuries so calling him too 5 sf after 6 years of being fit is really dumb.
@Aaron Daneils top 10 is debatable but definitely top 15. I love Grant Hill don’t get me wrong. He’s deserving of the HOF but he’s mostly in it for college awards. If Grant hill is in the HOF,which he should be then Chris Webber and Penny Hardaway should as well.
@Aaron Daneils top 10 debatable but yes they deserve it. But I believe a prime pippen was better than hill. But if your classing it just full on ability then i guess you can put hill over pippen while I wouldn’t. I’d love penny and Cwebbrr to be inducted this year alongside the truth even though I despise him.

@@DLKnightstick1989 It's very close, closer than some people may be aware of. But what Hakeem did in 94 & 95 killed any conversation about him and Robinson. Especially what he did to Robinson and the Spurs. But like i said great list.
@Aaron Daneils Uhh... Well, the video is literally about the best starting five players from the 1990s. So you saying Pippen didn't become an all-star until the 90s is much more irrelevant than Hill playing only five seasons. What Pippen did in the 80s doesn't matter with this list. And Hill playing only 5 seasons in the 90s has to do with longevity and consistency. I thought that was fairly self-explanatory.
Today's NBA compared to the 80's is like a welterweight fighting a heavyweight (the 80's of course). My criteria includes: the era, 3pt% over 3pt attempts, how a player could perform in a balance scoring team like the Spurs, and how a player could perform with less ball dominating (considerations for real pointguards of course). My top 10 (ballers on their prime) all time, not in order: MJ BIrd Magic Olajuwon Jabbar Wilt Duncan Dr.J (NBA/ABA) Shaq Bill Russell
I have a question for anyone who dares to answer: If a black person says to me '' no problem white guy'' and i answer back '' for sure black guy'' is it racist ?
Not at all and I'm black !! It would be e extremely hypocritical for him to address you as WHITE GUY and it not be considered racist !! So why would you addressing him in the exact same manner saying black guy be considered racist !!
And one more thing pip wasn't below bird or magic , magic in dream team conference after they have won the title back in 1992 has said pip was covering everything on the court he was the best of the squad, you check magic words
@@thechamp1063 Not going to happen. All team defense and all team offense. All killer mindsets and HIGH basketball IQs. All above 6.6 feat in height and very athletic. Bird can shot as well as Curry, so who is your three point threat?
@Original G-street boy There has been no better player than Jordan, Kobe was great but no Jordan. Lebron does not have that killer instinct. Hakeem was a BEAST on both ends of the court. He was drafted before Jordan and no one questions it.
Curry, Kobe, Bron, KD, Shaq could dominate every single team you can name of. Think about it, this team could play outside, inside, post, every single play you could think of.
@@monsterkill164 Curry to short and light to handle my crew. Lebron and KD don't have enough hurt and will lose their game to the mind games of MJ and Bird. There will be little to no layups or dunks with Hakeem and Duncan in the paint. Your crew loses as well.
It gets me every time when they only talk about who are their all-time starting 5 is, I wish someone could ask them, who are their 2nd or 3rd best starting 5 that could challenge this team, sounds like more interesting questions to me.
Magic was on the decline, Bird's back was F.U.B.A.R, Christian was a non factor, Mullin was an Ok at best pick. 96 had a killers row, starting and off the bench. Jordan and nostalgia aren't enough to overcome peak Payton, pre-injury Hardaway or deadeye Reggie, Hill, hungry Barkley and Hakeem (how was he off 1992's squad) or Beast Mode Shaq as the 5?
@@allencarpenter3023 They were all on the 96 team besides Ewing and Mullin. The weakest player on the 96 team was Mitch Richmond and he was a great replacement for Mullin

Bro isiah is bitter because they never won again. I think to be fair, Scottir became who he was because of the Jordan effect on him. Listen to what he said in the Last Dance.
Zeke: Me and Shaq belonged on the Dream Team. Incorrect. Laettner clearly was the best college player that year and Zeke wasn't better than stockton or Magic.
Definitely agree on the Laettner part, I mean, he won 2 NCAA titles as the #1 player on talented Duke teams. Shaq had no where near the college success Laettner had. To me, I think Stockton had the better individual career than Thomas as the steals and assist numbers speak for themselves. But in 1991 when they picked the teams, I would say Thomas had the better career up to that point as he was coming off back to back titles and Stockton had yet to reach the finals.
