@@Nsporadic1 Shaq has a point. Bol Bol was really the first seven footer that acted more like guard on the court than a center. That doesn't mean he is saying Wemby is Bol Bol but that they have similar skill sets for being seven footers. Wemby is obviously way more polished and consistent.

I find it interesting to watch the difference in approach when comparing the look at me flamboyance of Americans like LeBron VS the new Euroleague examples. While LeBron is polishing his acting credentials for his next career, people like Joker, Doncic and Wemby are taking the NBA to the next level. Drama, flops, and finger pointing VS teamwork and selflessness.

People never remember who made the pass but the resulting backboard destruction by Shaq was unforgettable. Jokic has doesn't care who on his team scores. His array of weapons makes the other team work twice as hard. I personally enjoyed watching him trade flop for flop with LeBron. Classic karma. LeBron is the past, Joker and Doncic are today, Wemby is the future. The past loving fans aren't happy with today, and can't wait for the future, even though there are things being done today that were never done in the past.

Wemby reminds of a girl that started a competition with me for the #1 place on our weekly medical terminology test. I refused to compete with her, I rarely study outside of school for terminology, I just had a weird way of remembering things. I decided to just let her burn out, I wasn't going to go out of my way to compete with others to prove myself. After several weeks of being #1, she burned out. Wemby gives me that vibe. He seems to want to create competition with other players to prove he is better than....so...I am not calling him a goat yet. We still need to see if he burns out or not. He is giving his everything to prove he is rookie of the year over another rookie he has "beef" with. So...we still have to see.

nah... in another ERA as you say... the big guys would camp out in the paint cause they couldnt dribble, couldnt drive, couldnt shoot from outside. so they'd rake up all the rebounds and play the post up down low against their counterpart big man. in that era, tell me who's guarding wemby outside the paint? you have to respect his mid range shot and his 3, you need to step up and contest it. who would do it? if you step up to him, he can drive and take you to the hoop. if you don't he is just as happy to shoot from outside and make as many points as the other guy playing post.
In another era no center from his height would be able to keep up with his speed, his ball handle, his outside shooting. He would still find ways to be good. And he would be an even better defender than guys like Bradley or Mutombo. He's averaging 3,5 blocks in a league where most people shoot from 3 and don't risk to go at him in the paint because they're already scared of him Saying one player would be trash in another era is a stupid argument. I could also say Jordan would be trash nowadays because he couldn't shoot from 3 consistently not would he be able to defend with the new rules Your argument means nothing

Based on what? He’s super well prepared physically, the guy is incredibly flexible. He doesn’t need to be super bulky honestly , maybe Rudy Gobert type of muscle but nothing more or he will get injured. If you,re gonna be that tall you better be light or you will get injured Zion Williamson style. Insane core strength and tendon strength are key for longevity
