Pure NOSTALGIA!! Watching this vid in 2020. Had this game as a kid. Jordan on this game was hands down one of the toughest gaming characters of ALL TIME. ESPN made a post about this during the pandemic, and they forget to add this gem to the list! I had to come watch! Memories man.. I still have my system in my room..
Imagine a prime AI and a still active Jordan playing at a random public basketball court and only two guys caring enough to stop by and watch 😂 The crowd would've spilled into the street
It's so crazy when you compare this game to FIFA 2000 and to see the player faces and then compare it to NBA's just wow. This game was so ahead when it came to visuals.
It was so hard for me back in the day to beat MJ , its like you will have him beat then he will win still , so I had to create a player and made my dad a 99 overall player just to beat Michael Jordan in the game, life was fun in my childhood
OMG such great memories playing this game back in the day, and i remember it took me like hell to be Jordan in the 1 on 1 street courts just to get his ass in the game to play him in a actual team
Same for me. Haha 😀 After 1 millions loss against MJ. I played Bird vs Jordan on my Game Boy. And knew that Only Larry could help me. I have been 10-11 years but when i finally won it's was a dream Come true. Since this day i have never confront Jordan in one on one because the best version of Mike was in NBA Live 2000.
MJ had an overall advantage over everyone else in this game imo. He would get the rebound 3/4 time, knock you down often without getting called for a foul and the only way you could get around his nearly unstoppable defense was by having someone with 99 speed (like Iverson) and your best chance of winning was by making 2s. That being said I've used Scottie Pippen and Mitch Richmond to beat him in this game
Oh the Nostalgia. Something u don't get out of 2k which is sad. Miss this mode where u could have players go 1 v 1. The good ol PS1 days playing NBA LIVE
Wow. Brings back memories. Som'n about the dude just standing there, and the other sone sitting on the bench. I thought about the ending sing. The dialogue, demandingness, etc. Jordan swearing at the end! :O If I hadn't heard.
Excuse @smoke702 do you know the song that plays while you play MJ 1 on 1. I think it goes" superstar, its going down", and then its a bunch of beatboxing, and then at the end he says"clap your hands to what hes doing, louder". Can you get that song with the one on one game.
There are a few ways Ove figured out how to beat MJ at 93 overall. 1. Ive beat him by backing him into the paint by holding triangle and press left on the dpad and keep pressing it and holding triangle with shaq or Wilt Chamberlain. 2. Play with Larry bird and outshoot MJ from 2. 3. Play with Iverson or a fast player and try to deke him. 4 Turn fouls of and go Bill Laimbeer on his ass. 5. Unlock a super created player and make a 99 overall.
ratings were lower back then .. 88 is the highest and thats Jordan .. if you check all the other players, you'll see most players are under 75 .. i mean, its more realistic that way to be honest.. and it leaves you more wiggle room ... These days everybody is in the 90+ , and guys complaining that they're only a 90 or 91 lol
Its so real to make Jordan this op specially in defense because this is how real he is in playing defense compared to Lebron if you will create a profile for him
As funny as it sounds I learned how to play some defense from this game, everyday I got off school I played MJ in one on one and you couldn't get past his stiff ass arms, I remember it being harder than this
Lol I only had the demo for this game I think Chris Childs and Allen Houston were stars. It was the year the spurs won. Mario Elie was automatic on corner 3s
The trick to beating Jordan in 1vs1 mode. Was use. Some one with a. High rating. Like. Kobe. Sprewell. Or. Ray Allen. Or. THE ANSWER ETC IF YOU USED A BIG MAN OR AVG PLAYER YOU HAD NO CHANCE
I remember facing MJ it was frustrating i tried everything AI EDDIE JONES KOBE GOD REST HIS SOUL EVEN TRY SHAQ BUT I FINALLY BEAT HIM WITH REGGIE MILLER
