Here is Top 10 "BREAKS THE BACKBOARD!" Dunks of All Time in the NBA. Enjoy! All clips are the property of the NBA. No copyright infringement is intended. #NBA #TOP10 #DUNK
Why does everything Jordan does look so good lol. He flies damn near over the big man, breaks the glass, and just watches his opponents get showered in in it lmao
Watch the video again! Shaq shouldn't be on the list at all. He didn't shatter the glass. He hung on to the rim and pulled down the goal and the shot clock. The other one is no also. He hung on to the rim and pulled down the support beam. Sorry! Slam and break the glass or hang on to the rim and break shit. I would take a couple of them off this list.
@@fryelee11 Shaq is the reason on this list is because the man changed not just how the nba made backboards but how the entire world makes them the dude even had a tree he hangs rims backboards he's broken the nba had to make the backboards withstand 1000+ pounds of weight bc of this man but you dare say the man doesn't deserve to be on this list if anything this should just be a Shaquille O'Neal highlight reel this man changed the art of dunking for not just the history of the nba but the NCAA and any other basketball industry on in our dimension
That Jordan highlight was unbelievable. He took off very close to the foul line and it was like shower of glass that fell on like 5 opponents. Also he pretty much jumped over a guy. Best player ever and it’s not even close.
That’s not true at all, you clearly are too young to know who Darryl Dawkins was but he use to smash backboards in the 80’s. After him the NBA decided to construct something much more solid and after that they had absolutely no problem and let me tell you they had big time dunkers back in that era. Then Shaq showed up!! No player before or during his career demolished the backboards besides him so that should tell you everything. Next time just do the research before you post lies because other idiots will think you're telling the truth. Sorry for being tough on you, but I don’t like liars.
I remember when Shaq brought the entire goal down. Not just the rim or the backboard but the entire thing. Then they had to change how they were built.
Yeah the excessive hanging on the ring (especially shifting your weight) is just bs. It's actually concidered a technical and if the rim breaks due to this it can be the cause of a forfeit in some leagues. The clean quick slam / break dunks are something else but I think with modern rings should be impossible.
Ok Jordan dunks right inside the free throw line and he jumps over a defenders head and shatters the glass!?? That in my opinion should be number 1 that's damn impressive!
5:20 Michael Jordan Man how high in the air did this man get , Shit the power made it rain glass all over his opponents, The way Jordan was on the court had to be absolutely crazy to be there watching in person damn he was good.
that last dude got nearly jumped over, dunked on, got hit in the head with the basketball, got the backboard broken on him, and got stepped over. that’s an instant retirement.
I don't know what's worse, what happened to that guy or what happened to the three guys that Michael Jordan almost made blind while he walked away Scott free
MJ's will always be the greatest in my eyes because he glid into the dunk and then after shattering the backboard the glass showered like four opposing players... lol
You got a point, every other dunk was right at the goal, mike damn near jumped from the free throw line with his while jumping over three other players, you can tell mikes was doing a finesse dunk, which jordan invented, and still broke the glass, everyone else on the list performed power dunks
It's like Shaq overheard a conversation where someone said, "anybody can break a backboard" and he said, "Hold my beer!" Everything MJ does, especially in the air, looks so damn poetic. It's like watching Rembrandt paint.
(#4) Jordan was my favorite one. Made a sick dunk, made it rain broken glass on the opponents and managed to stay clear of it all and just watched it fall on them. It's almost like he did it by design.
I ABSOLUTELY AGREE I SEEN SHAQ ONES LIVE BASKETBALL WAS UNDENIABLY THE GREATEST SPORT ON TV DURING THOSE TIMES LANE WAS TGE ONLY ONE WHO TRULEY JUNPED OVER OPPNENTS HEAD WITH CONTACT AND LITTLE MAN FLEW ON HIS ASS LIKE HE GOT HIG WITH A PUMP SHOTGUN UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
Everything Michael Jordan does looks beautiful. I still prefer those old school leaner dunks, rock the baby dunks, and/or cradle dunks from the 80s....all because of Michael Jordan. Ofcourse, the way he did it was unlike anyone else.
That second Dawkins dunk is just poetry in motion - the hang time, the back kick, the exploding glass. And in my opinion the clear #1 by far. He breaks the backboard with pure force - not by hanging in the rim like most of the others.
nah mj didnt hang either and jumped about 3-4 ft from the FT line, AND with one hand and made it rain on his opponents without being touched. But go off i guess...
There isn't even a lag where his force is caught by the rim and the backboard breaks a fraction of a second after. It all feels like one uninterrupted motion.
@@pureshooter7477 Immensely powerful human being. And what a character - such a joyful and larger than life personality. Too bad he only got to be 58 years old but it seems like he made the most of them.
Not to mention the fact that the thumbnail says NBA but there's NCAA in the video. I'ma tell this fool like my grandma used to tell people when I was growing up..."Keep it 100.... or keep it the fuck outta here bitch!" I'm lying...she never said that
I remember seeing Shaquille's dunk in Phoenix Live, as it happened. This one didn't break the backboard, the goal just kind of collapsed backwards. Only six of these were NBA. Shaquille also shattered a backboard at a local gym on NBA Inside Stuff. Back in the old days, when very little basketball was televised, there was a player named Chuck Connors who destroyed two backboards... in the SAME game!
Ha-Ha, Chuck Connors retired early from the NBA, and with his rugged good looks, headed for Hollywood, getting his own TV series a couple of times, including "The Rifleman" and "Branded".
Did you see where Jordon took off from...off two feet? Unbelievable. It's shocking to see Shaq bring the whole structure down but it's more impressive to see Dawkins and Lane shatter the glass with raw force from the dunk (and not their body weight).
The only one that left the rim and no glass, lol. Also, they should have included Charles Barkley since all of those weren't NBA dunks. Barkley broke a few in college. Even got sent home because he kept doing it 🤣🤣🤣🤣.
I like Jordan's the best, because he didn't break the glass from hanging on the rim, it was just the pure force of his dunk, flying high from the free throw line, he didn't hold on to the rim at all, he just shoved the ball in with pure force.
No need for force at that angle. You'll break it more than half the time. I've gotten a few that way. Look up helicopter from And. He break them all the time at that angle.
Soon as I saw the topic I said I hope MJ dunk from high school on here....key word....High School....u know its the Goat if you breaking glass in high school
I remember big country breaking the backboard during a practice at the final 4 in Seattle. I was in the crowd. Rasheed Wallace and Jerry Stackhouse were the star players for North Carolina. How time goes by so fast.
Crazy how Jordan breaks the glass with a masterpiece of dunk shattering glass over his opponents only, lads gracefully and immediately runs back to def. This guy!
