So comforting to watch these complete with commercials and bumpers. A quick time-travel escape from the stress and complexity of being an adult, and back to the warm memories of being a kid again. The biggest problem back then was deciding which channel to watch if I wanted to watch 2 or 3 different cartoons at the same time! These are so therapeutic and make me feel a lot like I did back in those good old days. Please keep them coming!

The Smurfs episode is a big one. Probably the only specific episode I remember watching back then.

"Butch Cavity and the Sunrock Kid"? "Bryant Gumball"? The writers sure had fun with this show.

I love Saturday Morning Cartoons. I grew up watching these cartoons when I was a kid. Now I am 55 years old and I still watch Saturday Morning Cartoons still. Iam glad that RU-vid have these cartoons to watch for free. RU-vid has wonderful movies and cartoons on it .

Born in 68 in Philadelphia i would wake up at 6am and get ready for cartoons. I miss Saturday morning cartoons. Stupid people made stations take them down , they finally stopped around 95/96

Out of all the years of cartoons, there was something special about the ones from 1980-1985. Not only did they incorporate the really good ones from the 1960's like Space Ghost, Herculoids, Scooby Doo and Flintstones but they also had some new goofy ones like Richie Rich, Goldie Gold, Smurfs, Shirt Tales and Mighty Man and Yuk. These were what cartoons were all about...non violent, goofy and fun. Its so sad and disgusting to see what they've evolved into. Thanks for the memories dude. You're really bringing back the best years for a kid to have grown up. 💯💥💫😊

I love these old bumpersl These are some of my earliest memories. 2:22:00 It's the Spidey and his Amazing friends opening, but I think that's an older Spiderman episode, Good stuff though. That guy has an epic voice that doesn't quite fit Spiderman. That show is surprisingly dark. The best thing about this whole vid is it's a reminder of how much the early 80's were basically the 70's fade out. It's hard to type lying down. Time to get up. Thanks Mone!

1981 back when The Smurfs and Spiderman ruled the Saturday Morning Cartoon airwaves. There's now way that these shows would not last in the 1970s with parents groups having stricter rules banning violence and quality in cartoons.

I remember enjoying "Kids Super Power Hour With SHAZAM". Live action with animation, compliments of Filmation. After doing their closing song, the audience gets to meet The Hero High Cast during the ending credits. 😌The 80's: You had to be there.

Yes, NBC SAT was where I was in '81-2. It should be noted that not only did The Smurfs and Spidey and his Amazing Friends saved the network but also Saturday morning in general. NBC was in dire straits by 1980 and it's head programmer Fred Silverman was not helping with his shows Supertrain and Pink Lady and Jeff becoming enormous flops and losing money. On top of that SAT was threatened to be replaced by morning and talk shows while older cartoons were given to cable and syndication. Silverman did accomplish two things before NBC oust him in '81. He brought in his assistant Brandon Tartikov to be President for the network and then green lighted the European comic strip called The Smurf (Les Stroumpfs) which was a popular Hallmark item and Silverman's daughter's favorite dolls and became SAT's dominate show. Spidey meanwhile was coming off after Marvel bought DePatie-Freleng studios and Margret Loesch oversaw and the show ended up replacing the Superfriends as the superheroes ratings chartbuster.
