NC father hoping for a miracle this Christmas following ALS diagnosis 

I notice some ALS patients are living longer. Is it because the trials and treatments that help slow progression? I hope one day there's a cure soon! My dad's cousin had ALS back in 2005 and died within 2 years of his diagnosis.

Not everyone is accepted or eligible for trial medications that have been proven during trials to slow the progression of disease. There are many restrictions to be eligible for trials that by the time the patient gets diagnosed, they’ve had their symptoms longer than what the trial period allows for them to be eligible to receive the medication of the trial. It’s really sad.

I have MS, hx of breast cancer and❤disease. You hear about treatments and resources for these type of diseases but what about ALSs??? My husbands mother died from ALS when he was only 13. I can see how his mothers illness has affected him. Thanks to videos like yours putting ALS in the spotlight. Please please donate to further ALS research.
