While they did a very evil thing to this woman, "they" didn't put her into poverty, she put herself there unfortunately. She's had to learn a tough and very expensive lesson the hard way! DO NOT turn over one red cent to someone you've never met!

You are right when you say "they did a very evil thing to this woman". This was evil: taking advantage of a person that probably is not thinking right. THere are lots of people that are like her : naive and being naive is not a crime. Crime is taking advantages of the naive or mentally ill.

Every year we hear of hundreds of cases of this and just scratch our heads and wonder how anyone can be so naive. If you ever have to pay money to meet someone especially someone who claims to be wealthy then you know it's a scam.

C'mon lady, you are old enough to be this kid's mother, how could you believe he was romantically interested? Not being mean, just realistic. I'm old too, (happily married though) but I just couldn't believe a scammer like this if I were single. Older women have to be careful. There are lots of sharks out there.

I used to think that too, I used to think there's no way anyone could have such a combination of vanity, stupidity and lust along with not having a mirror in the house, while having no critical thinking skills whatever. But it's happening so often and it's not always loneliness. Many "victims" have family and friends warning them it's a scam.

This woman is soft and naïve, and was clearly wrapped up in the idea of meeting this celebrity. Even if this were true, and she did meet someone she would’ve still paid the 70 K to meet a celebrity which is incredibly sad.! look out for the elderly give them a phone call.
