Can honestly say this seems to be perfectly normal with this bike. There are vids on here of bikes with 3.5k and 4K and I’m certain with Honda having that low mileage that they all wouldn’t have a problem, the same problem. They run forever. Mine has 20k and sounds exactly the same. Hope it eases some of your concerns 👍🏻
This sound gives fuel injectors. After cold start working quiet. When engine is a little warmer becomes this sound. I check noises with stetoscope. Fuel injectors working most loud and clicking. In the service told me the same. Sorry for my english.
Valve adjustment required. Check manual for clearance values. I only have the settings for the NC750X. Also, change your oil if you have not done it for a while. Cheap checks first before drastic measures. All the best
I've heard a few and they both did this sound... could be normal characteristic or an inherent defect... could just be the tensioner design and the rocker valve train doing its thing... I bought a CTX700 and it's the same engine sound... I'd put it down to the rocker arm valve actuation...
I have the same noise on mine, its 70k kms, went to honda dealer and its the came shaft tensioner, alteady have it an will change next week also with a valve ajustment. 😊
Hi mine does the same,, im more concerned about the terrible road noise i get, mine has done 26000mls and im sure the gearbox wines , not sure if all normal
@@michaelwatson3812 oh, I have forgot. I've changed the tensioner. It was installed incorrectly from the factory. Now it installed correctly, noise has decreased, but not gone
I have mechanical empathy for it but I'm learning to let it click it always goes away when under load off idle, today it got new windscreen and clip on and now that wind noise is less I here it more lol, I've had Hondas my whole life this is the noisiest one I've ever owned but I'll let it click it seems.
It seems to be normal. I have had no issues with performance or reliability. The bike still runs like a dream and it’s now over 77000km. The noise is still there, but hasn’t become worse. I’m super happy with this bike.
I have not noticed excessive vibrations. Mine has done over 75000km and is still going super strong. The noise is still there, but no associated vibration.
No, I still don’t know what causes the noise. It still runs beautifully with lots of power even though the noise is still there. At my last service the mechanic checked the valves and timing chain. He says everything is fine. His only suggestion is that at next service I should try changing the timing chain and tensioner. Maybe that will make a difference. I’ll have to wait and see...
@ I replaced the chain tensioner in the engine and the sound became quieter, but in general, anyway, the engine sound is loud when compared with other motorcycles
Yeah, this seems to be normal. The bike is still in daily use and the noise hasn't changed at all. Still loads of power. Now that I've had the bike for about 3 years now, this seems to be normal. I'm not worried about it anymore. Thanks for your comment.
@@michaelwatson3812 My 2013 NC700S has now past 120.000 km, still also on first clutch. If you are not abusing 'her' you'll have a reliable motorcycle for many years to come. I hardly ever run the motor over 5000 rpm, with the low down torque characteristic not even necessary. I absolutely love the design and practicality of this bike. Safe rides 🙏👍🏍
@@michaelwatson3812 halo i have a 2024 model with 1500 miles and it sounds about the same. How did your going throu all this time ? Was there a problem ?
where the goddam ticking comes from? I have the same issue on the hot engine with my NC, service guys keep saying this is normal. I hardly believe this is normal, as the engine sound is silent and smooth right after starting to turn into a "ticking nightmare" after the 1-hour ride...
@@dimosthenismagos7982 i gave up. It is ticking when hot. Service guys say it is normal, have ridden the bike with this noise almost 5 years since it was brand new til now
@@romanskolin8210 so it seems to be part of the normal function. If it was a problem it would couse a real malfunction in five years time. I suppose you check on the valves and cam tensioner. There are some more reports on that ticking sound so it seems quite common.
