Not just EA tbh, for every copy sold on a console, 30% of that goes to the console maker. And if it's sold physically, EA would only get 50% of the sale price themselves in the first place, even before distributing it to anyone. Doesn't even need to be greedy BS to see that the royalties for the players is going to be /way/ less than 50% of the revenue.
News just broke today about an alleged players led boycott , based around each player getting a payout of roughly $500 (I think that's a pretty good payout per player personally)
@colmecolwag It isn't bad considering (according to my calculations from the previous NCAA) they're getting close to 10% of base game sales. They still have a fiduciary duty to investors as well as paying their staff that worked on the game, licensing fees, and etc. If the players really think they will get half, the game will more than likely not happen. I'm very pro people getting paid what they're worth, but NIL is a little too messy right now. I'd say they take this offer for now, see where things end up after a year or two, and renegotiate a new deal especially when dlcs and add-on revenue becomes available.
@@Pnk_Rckr yeah it is tricky to figure out right now since who knows how much this will sell. It won't get Madden numbers and we don't know the terms of the deal (will the freshmen get another 500 next year or are they signing off for their entire college career? What about revenue from the microtransactions is they do an Ultimate Team? That's where EA makes most of its money now) I don't think it's a super unfair amount but there's a lot of what it's there too
College players are to selfish. We will probably not see a game ever or if we do it will be very different. I would love to he apart of a videogame for no money. But then again im not driven by money in my life like most kids
This is one of the worst takes I’ve ever seen. The projections on a new NCAAF game would be way more than $60 million. Madden makes over $600 million thanks to ultimate team. There’s no doubt NCAAF 24 will leverage that. On top of that it’s free money to most of the college football players. Sure some of them might opt out, but they’ve already got the game almost made and the licensing deals almost done. It’s coming, for sure!
But NCAA cant really have an ultimate team. Not that many star players and nobodys gonna play UT with randomly generated players. Actually, i take that back considering people still buy Madden.
READ THIS!!! Luke 15:7 I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance. 🎉🎉🎉 Is it just wonderful to know that when you are saved, there is a party in Heaven. Just for you. That is how much you matter to God. Believe in the Righteous Almighty God, and be saved. Do you want to have a relationship with someone who loves you beyond any other love. Someone who sacrificed himself for you and everyone on this Earth the one who created the heavens and the Earth be creator of everything do you want to be saved. Do you want eternal life with peace and joy forever your answer is Jesus if you do not know who Jesus is read the following Jesus is the Son of God that came to this Earth to save the people of their sins. when God-created Earth sin same came into Earth and tempted Eve(The first woman) to eat the fruit that God had forbidden her and Adam to not eat. If they do, they will die. Not immediately, but death is certain. Eve ate the fruit and gave Adam some to eat as well. And he did. That showed that humans are sinners and not perfect. That is why Jesus came to Earth to save humans of their sins. This leads to a relationship with God(the main reason) and eternal life. He did that by dying on the cross. 3 days later, he resurrected. The story of Jesus is beautiful. If you do not already have a Bible, purchase one. If you do not have the money, pray to God about you wanting a Bible and if he could please provide one for you. This does not mean a Bible will come from the sky and land on your hands. Pray to God every day. But to not be blabbering that just say a bunch of words to try to impress and show off to other people or to impress. This does not mean long prayers are bad always pray out of the heart. Give thanks also when you pray. The Father (also God) sent his only son Jesus Christ to die for you. Rejoice brothers and sisters because your price was payed by Jesus Christ death. Acts 16:31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus , and you will be saved- you and your household." 🎉 Jesus loves You, smile, isn't that just amazing❤😊🎉 Keep trying, no matter what problem that you face. The power of God can strengthen you, and help you, just turn to God all glory to the almighty, and only God!❤
Not to mention that most of the current players were kids that grew up with NCAA. They were probably just as estatic as us when they found out the game was coming back 😂
@@JohnDest-tb7ztExcept we already know that it's not. The majority of the creators don't even work on Madden and most of them are the guys that make Revamped. They've already confirmed that Dynasty Mode is their main priority and Ultimate Team might not even be in the game. Your comment is pointless because we already know that they're two different games. They pushed it back just last year BECAUSE they felt that it WAS to similar to Madden. They don't want it to be Madden. That's why they fu**ing pushed it back. How dumb are you? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The schools have zero say of NIL. A player opting into the NCAA Game is an individual choice, not their school's decision. I'd love to see the negative PR a school gets for telling their players they can't be in the video game.
It’s gonna be a mess with teams half completed, half generic. I really hope I’m wrong. I imagine the smaller school players will all opt in, but the bigger schools will just be a joke. As a dynasty player I really would be fine with all generic rosters 🤷🏻♂️
@ejarbinks2891 I agree with the generic roster. I really don't understand why they could have just kept the game going with generic rosters in the first place. However, as for player names, that's an easy work around. For example, Texas A&M's QB Max Johnson can be renamed Largest Dick...
@@mcshibby77no it’s true. NCAA 14 had generic players, but they had the same number and attributes. That’s what led to the lawsuit by an NCAA football and basketball player. Source: SoftdrinkTV’s Retrospective on NCAA 14
This game is definitely coming out. The amount of money that has already been spent for production would be like giving money away. The game will release with generic players
I am representing Notre Dame as one of our biggest fans and saying although that is a great example and we get your point Notre Dame’s players don’t give a shit about being paid from EA
I agree, a lot of Notre Dame players have no problem getting nil sponsorships and I’m sure they would love to be able to be in the next college football game
This simply isn’t going to be the case. Madden makes most of their money through their in game shops. It’s probably going to be something like EA gives majority of the income from the copies sold to the players, and then EA keeps the revenue from the shop, or they do a relatively equal percentage for both the shop and game copies. Either way, it’s definitely gonna be a lot more than 60 million
@@I_JPToxic_I ngl I’d take that unless we have a serious chance to get a profit of the sales forever because for most of these athletes they are making good money
They’re offering each player around $500. Most of them want to take it. It’s another licensing company that’s suing EA this time because they’re supposed to be involved in all NIL deals and they weren’t involved in negotiations. EA has already said that the lawsuit isn’t going to hinder the production and release of NCAA 25. Summer of 2024 is the release window for the game currently.
or plain and simple they do what they used to and use fake player names, EA keeps all profit and doesn’t have to worry about paying anybody. we get a game, and these whiny ass athletes who mostly already have free tuition miss out on actually being in the game. i don’t think the players realize that they aren’t necessities when name generators exist.
@@trackstar1337They got sued because they used their "name, image, and likeness." Default faces can be put in, so that both the name and face can be randomized. Itnis likely the only ones people will care about being in the game are the stars. Just pay the stars and if any of the others dont want to sign a waiver, randomize their name and face. This is how commits are being treated.
We'll literally do it ourselves like we have been for years now. I don't understand why they haven't figured out that all we need is the tools and we'll build the game ourselves pretty much.
They will be releasing the game. The team has been under development for a long time and their investors are eager to release this game by summer of 2024
It doesnt matter if the schools dont want their players getting paid a certain amount, its not up to them. Also, players dont have to opt in and the game will just have a random generated player. People are going to create their own rosters with those players anyway. Also, lots of these guys want to be in the game, regardless how much they're getting paid. The top 100 will get a decent payout and the rest of the opt ins will probably get anywhere from 500-3k. EA doesnt need the opt ins, its just a courtesy.
Simple fix: use a stadium as the background for the cover. Add FCS teams and leave the FBS team alone til they figure it out. Those FCS team will opt in for less money 😂😂😂😂
CFB 25 is going to sell WAAAAY more than 1M copies. Not to mention micro transactions and deluxe editions with a base edition game going at $70. On top of the NIL deals the players already receive, they’re going to be compensated fairly.
They never needed to put players in there in the first place, nor do they need to. In reality they never really did. Just create the schools, make the teams, and most importantly, make the gameplay the best it's ever been.
You're forgetting this is EA. Assuming the players get a cut of all sales that's $70 for the game(games aren't $60 anymore) plus the all the money they make from mtx. I think players would be just fine with that. They make over 100x more after people buy the game.
Games are 70 now. So that’s one thing. They will also sell more copies then they did previously as now there is a massive hype as it has been 10 years probably the most hyped football game of all time. But my main gripe is the “note dame won’t allow their players to take the same as ___”. The players are ultimately the ones that accept contracts not the school.
I’d take the odds of a new ncaa game topping madden easily in rev. If I was a player I’d definitely be getting into that , the game will have a huge blowup right when it drops
My opinion on them delaying it, is so the seniors that pop off this year won’t ask for more money than ea is going to give them, rather since they already paid most of the other students, the freshman coming. In would gladly accept 500 for just being there. Not knowing they might get the Heinemann in 4 years
I love it when people say the game isn't releasing, see all the proof out there that it is, then continue to demand it isn't because they can't accept that they're wrong lmfao
They already stated with or without the name likeness situation if not being resolved that the game will still come out and this is where roster creators will come through in the clutch
Having the actual athletes is not a deal breaker at all. Having a few of the big names is all that’s needed. Ppl just want to play a college football game. And especially play the franchise mode, which needs to be just as good as 14s.
These young men would take the money and be thankful to be in the game. The school doesn't have the rights to their NIL and they have no say in the matter.
