So happy that we have so much footage of wrestling today, because some of the best cement mixers I've ever seen were in matches that have no video. Chris Rodrigues hitting one on Nick Simmons. It was the only time in Simmons' entire career where he was ever pinned. Rodrigues hit one on Shaun Williams once too. It was kind of a heartbreaker. Williams led the match 8-3 with mere seconds left to go. Rodrigues WBF 6:59. If Williams would have held on one more second the match would have been tied 8-8 & went to overtime. Considering that Williams had already scored 4 takedowns, I think he would have had the advantage. I was there for that 0:19 fall (Happens at 50 sec in this video) for Terrence Clendenin of Lehigh over Vic Moreno of Cal Poly. I can remember how much that shocked the heck out of me and then Clendenin ends up upsetting Nick Simmons in the next round too! Kind of a weird ordeal considering Clendenin was Mario Stuart's backup, but got the starting spot because of Stuart's injury that season. After that Clendenin transferred to a smaller school. Trying to remember where, but he was a DIII All American. I also remember the spot at 1:13 between Luke Smith (Now the head coach at CSU-Bakersfield) and Bryce Leonardt of Wyoming. That one was kind of a shocker too considering that Leonardt had beaten Smith earlier in the season. Not sure where you got some of this rare to find video, but I appreciate it.
Glad you like it, Stephen. More coming. About a month after the NCAA tournament, the National Wrestling Coaches Association would make an offer for its members to purchase a tournament highlight video, starting with VHS tapes in 1996, switching to DVDs in the early 2000s. The last one was in 2011, from that point on I believe the NCAA signed a contract with either Flo or Track and that was the end of the NWCA highlight videos. I finally figured out how to conveniently get the VHS footage onto I-Movie. Then I got a youtube channel. The hard part was getting the 15 years of footage sorted out by moves - but well worth it. Inside trips coming Sunday!
Glad you like it! I've put several on youtube in recent weeks. I hope you check them out. I have several more, one coming out on Sunday nights until I run out.
All the moves came from highlight videos that the National Wrestling Coaches Association sold after each NCAA tournament from 1996 through 2011. Chances are it is the only move of your brother on the video from that year. What year did your brother compete in the NCAA Championships? I'll see if there is something else of him on there.
@@libertyvillewrestling7036 Thanks, that's cool! He wrestled there in 2002 and 2003 (Cal Poly - 197). I wrestled there in 1999 (University of Wyoming - 184) and 2001 (University of Wyoming -174)
@@schenksteven1 I'll see what I can find, looking through the 2002 and 2003 for a Cal Poly big guy, and 1999 and 2001 for a big Wyoming guy. They aren't anything but short clips, no photo ID, but will send you anything along those lines I can find and we'll see if you made it!
Can't, once he starts the roll he is coming out on top. The answer is get your head covered and shuck to your feet immediately before he hits the roll.
No, these are all videos from 1996-2011 when the National Wrestling Coaches Association put out a highlight video of the NCAA Division 1 tournament about a month after it was over.
contrary to your opinion, the wrestler is rolling against the path of least resistance, if he were to spin the wrestler the other way, they could resist the spin and end up injuring themselves.
