This weekend’s NCAA Lacrosse Tournament First Round gave us four 1-goal games, a 2-goal game and a bunch of goals in the games that weren’t so close. It was apparent that #Donna got it “mostly” right in terms of seeding with one GLARING MISTAKE, and that was handing #1 Duke a first-round matchup against Delaware, let’s dive into it.

@@LaxFactor also like Georgetown defense just broke down I thought, and I think army is serious, they want to win.

Good show! The two 730pm games were awesome! Army vs Penn State should be a real battle! I hope Michigan can beat Duke! Lemoyne and RIT are very much alive! That ain't no jive, Ted!

The way Michigan is playing they can beat anyone. Duke may be angry after the Delaware scare though haha.

Would love to see sode by side comparisons of remaining tewarraton finalists. Terps...ughhh...Bad day for Rupel to be off, especially without Zapp. Atleast AA voting was before he got hurt. 2 seasons of no injuries caught up with them this year. They were looking for identity all season and consistency was rough.

I think I may be forced to do a Tewaaraton show next week for sure, so we'll do that mid-week with the preview show.

That whole top draw is nutz! All 4 underdogs had a good chance of upsets. ( two did pull off upsets and two came darn close) where Yale was the only upset chance in the bottom half!! Great to hear you Monday morning, instead of me listening to some stupid news!! I was rooting for Delaware and Princeton to knock that top half apart. Probably would have been the first time all seeds lost in one half. Either way. 4 Great games next week!

Yeah, I was partly rooting for Delaware and partly thinking, how did this come to be that Duke got stuck playing them haha. My favorite game of the weekend was Michigan/Cornell. I was rooting for Cornell in a half hearted sort of way, so wasn't all that mad that Michigan beat them, but what a story that is.

Im super excited for PSU Army, however I think for Army they have to be really careful when it comes to the PSU offense with how balanced they are and how much better their offense is than Marylands was this season. Plus Fracyon is one of the best goalies in the nation but should be a great game!

Difference will be at the dot. Penn State is not good at the dot and Coletti and Army are very good there. Other than that these teams match up pretty well. Should be a crazy game.

So it turns out the Ivy league is overrated this year ( along with ivy league degrees).
@LaxFactor
@LaxFactor Год назад
I think the ivies were overrated earlier in the season and properly rated by the end. They lost to better teams is all. The degrees have been overrated for well over a decade or longer haha.

I've chirped you for this all season, but you kept contributing to the Ivy-hype all season. That's what hurt your bracket. The good news is that shouldn't impact your picks for the rest of the tournament.
@LaxFactor
@LaxFactor Год назад
Eh, I think I gave the Ivy appropriate hype all season compared to the ACC and B1G. They all got similar numbers in the tournament. Yes, I did have Princeton ranked too highly to start the season, but so did everyone else who get's a poll vote. Cornell was probably properly ranked and simply fell victim to a Michigan team that never stopped improving all season. Really, same could be said of Princeton by the end of the season, both Cornell and Princeton lost to teams from the B1G that continued to get better as the season went on. But the only games of my bracket I picked wrong I believe was Princeton and Cornell right? In my actual bracket pool I'm in, I had each of them getting beat in the next round, so I think I'm good overall.

@@LaxFactor I'm still just mad about last year, where the entire Ivy got in and only one ACC school did. This year I have a hard time saying that any team from the Ivy deserved a spot over Syracuse or North Carolina, but I get why it happened. Seeing all three Ivy schools knocked out in the first round felt like vindication.
@LaxFactor
@LaxFactor Год назад
Yeah, this year the issue for both SU and UNC was the # of quality wins. For Cuse especially, they didn't have any bad losses, but they also didn't have any top 10 wins. Had they knocked off Duke, Notre Dame or UVA, 2 of the 3 or even 1 of the 3 it puts them in the conversation, but they didn't pull that off.
@dlfarmer09
@dlfarmer09 Год назад
@@LaxFactor That's where I have heartburn. From where I'm sitting Princeton is the #1 team in the Ivy...at least by tournament. Syracuse handled business against them. The only out of conference win that I'm impressed by with the three Ivy's that got in was Cornell over Army...and that was a close one. It seems 1) preseason rankings matter too much, and 2) a win against an Ivy opponent is only considered a quality win if you are an Ivy team. If you don't consider any Ivy a quality win, Yale doesn't make the cut. And if you can't tell...I don't.
