Every time I watch this game it invokes past memories of when I became a Notre Dame football fan. It began in 1964 at Camp Randall stadium in Madison. The Fighting Irish blasted the Badgers 31-7. I was born and raised in Madison, in fact Paul Chryst's father George, was the Athletic Director, football coach, phy. ed. teacher at my highschool. I grew up in the Badger bubble of athletics. The stadium through the 60's, 70's and into the 80's for football was always less than half full. Long losing streaks, the Northwestern of the Big Ten in football success. Barry Alverez arrives in 1989 and all of a sudden all you here is a great the Badger football program is. As a Notre Dame fan, living in Madison, it became nauseous to here constantly the Lepay/Lucas Kool aid drinking radio team of the Badgers rave praise upon the Badgers deservingly or not. The entire local media always making excuses for losses and exaggerating praise for victories. This Notre Dame victory over Wisconsin in 2021, hopefully will shut a few mouths in Badger land, allowing some reality to shine upon their local media.
Looking back now with Chryst's firing this past week, I believe ND's fourth quarter performance in this game was an indicator of how everything went downhill the last 3 or so years under Chryst.
