@@bottlesflying yeah man, with 9 seconds to go; I sure would have stalled him out. But that's the difference between Heaven Fitch, and a mediocre wrestler like me. That high, spread-leg granby was nice. And showed she is NEVER just gonna stall for the win.
Impressive, yes! But she's also fierce and strong, trying to deprieve the guy from even taking some much needed respite while she was ahead on points. Disheartening.

Used to play basketball with a friend of mine named Jasmine now and again back in the day and the damn girl mostly beat the crap out of me mercilessly. Was fun. 😉

It took ~16 months but Luke Wilson got his redemption. He and Heaven Fitch re-matched yesterday (6-26-2021) at the North Carolina State Tournament. He defeated her 6-4 in overtime and advanced to the finals where he knocked off the undefeated #1 seed and won the state title. Congratulations to Luke for not giving up. He goes out on top and ends his high school wrestling career as a state champion.
Idk anything about wrestling at all and heard that this girl is making history. I can see why, that match was entertaining. Her determination and positivity certainly shines which will translate into success in her life. Very good for her!
@@ЯковН-ю9х I dunno, you can watch Heaven wrestle girls too, and she still demonstrates power, stamina and technical proficiency. Political agenda or not, she can wrestle.
Man people can not help but be extreme to ether side huh. Look she is the 8th ranked girl in the country in her weight. Also she is a fargo all american. She is clearly much better then the competition. If you say she sucks you do not have a clue and should probably shut up. However it is also true. That North Carolina is a very weak wrestling state and she would likely not do as well in the tougher states. She is an excellent wrestler who achieved a goal and will likely compete at the next level. None of the boys she beat can say the samething.
@@christianbroughton1409 yeah, other states are tougher, Ohio, California, New Jersey, Illinois, Iowa Michigan, New York, Pennsylvania (number one), and down south Georgia and Florida. Texas is solid now and Oklahoma has been a player for a very long time. So exactly what is your point?
once you’ve developed enough technique from the top position, you don’t need too much strength to turn your opponent. As expected, she got overpowered on her feet, but coped with it nicely. Well played, Heaven, I am in awe.
Theres not a lot of people at the North Carolina High School State Championships. I like how Indiana's is one match under the lights... But this girl winning state vs boys is impressive, mad props to her... Not only did she win/she put in work majoring him... Hope she continues to wrestle and succeed

Not saying she isn’t good...but boys that age are terrified of being labeled a creep or something if he accidentally touches her the wrong way. Gotta be extra careful these days. Congrats to the girl for competing hard though.
Her set up for back points for the chicken wing was so simple yet perfect. Let the guys stand up, have a wing and wrist control, trip to the ground, turn the hips and walk towards his head and get 3 points. She did it BOTH times and it was awesome lol. She dominated on the ground.

My only thing is, and I could be totally wrong. But at 106lb I would think most boys she gets to wrestle would be sophomores or freshman since most guys don’t stay 106 as they mature. Would be a big advantage if she’s a senior and gets to wrestling a good amount of freshman and sophomores. Again I could be totally wrong about this. And regardless she’s clearly very good
@Joseph Dutton Most successful D1 125 lbs wrestlers are not that weight walking around. There is a term "walking weight" which is their weight normally and competition weight. A man who competes at 125 is close to 150 normally. I know some MMA fighters at 125 and none of them are less than 145 when they are not cutting. I know a top Muay Tai fighter at 147 and he normally weighs 170.
@@knightawz pretty sure my 100 pound daughter could beat your squat, deadlift, power clean, and maybe your bench. I know she can do more pull ups than you.
@@scottg6754 you think so stranger? (lol BTW using someone else's achievements to brag about is one of the most pathetic and saddest things to do). I can do 50 push ups at my best. If you're baby girl is soooooo strong prove it! I bet your daughter only exist in your head lol.
This only proves that wrestling is a sport of skill and not just brute strength like so many who never wrestled before assume. Most think the 'bigger or stronger wrestler wins every time'. Not saying Heaven isn't strong but following the laws of genetics I would say most of the male opponents she has defeated along the way were physically strong than her. So, that makes it even more impressive for what she's done since her skill level has to be that much better than her male opponents to overcome that strength difference.
Drew Hanson I had two female state champs on my wrestling team in HS. They couldn’t beat any of the men on the team not because the men were better, but they were all at least twice as strong as them. But these girls were a heavier weight class at 140s so they were fighting more matured boys than 104s here. Maybe that is part of the reason she was able to win. Idk. This is new territory
@@abuhajaar2533 I literally work out with females who can squat and dead lift more than 400 pounds. There is one girl at 114 pounds deadlifted 377, a squat of 360 I think, and something like a 175 bench. No cheat gym stuff. Those are completion lifts.
Scott g well that’s rare but when you train for a few lifts you can get strong in them. But every guy on the wrestling team could lift that much but not at 114. I was 140s lifting that much and I was one of the stronger ones. Keep in mind we’re talking about high schoolers here and we also didn’t train for lifting nor did we try to max out because it was excessive strain on our bodies for no reason. Conditioning is far more important. This girl can probably deadlift 225 max. Also I’ll point out that being able to lift heavy doesn’t amount to much in a wrestling match. You’re not deadlifting your opponent into submission. It really involves a lot more of you.
@@abuhajaar2533 actually you need to have representative strength. It doesn't mean you will win but if you are genetically weak you have a low ceiling even with technique. At the HS level, at the lighter weights, elite girls can compete well. I am NOT making the case girls/women will beat boys/men at an elite level in any sport. What I will say is elite women will trash anybody who is a neophyte. My 100 pound daughter has all kinds of skills, that I can document, and would thrash any male who doesn't have a skill set and under 200 pounds or so. Shoot on ankles, get their back, choke them out. Could any female even compete against any male Olympic wrestling team member. Nah, not close. I have spent dozens of hours at the OTC. They don't wrestle the elite senior athletes boy versus girls. They wrestle the girls with high level HS boys on the way up. Henry Cejudo got his start this way. A friend named Tracy Greiff bankrolled Henry from Arizona to the OTC in Colorado springs, a guy named Sergei Belaglasov (a friend - look him up) was coaching the women's team. Henry was still small. He won easily enough but was a good 'look' for the women and dated one as his first love. He ended up staying in Colorado and the rest is history. I have been doing these two sports for 45 years, at the little kids, to the elite level. Kind of been there done that. Oh, and BTW, I am a competitive old guy powerlifter, unless your gym claims can be validated you are just another 'I can do this or that' without a shred of of proof. LOL, you are kind of a cliche in the 'I am strong' world. Cracks me up. In my local gym I am probably too five. In my power gym I am not ever in the top 50%. Save your platitudes for somebody who can't look things up. BTW, my last power meet, which can be referenced, I blew out a hamstring. Deads and squats were something I could lift. My bench was 225 at 148 age 59. I got 244 up but it was sketchy and I got 2/3 reds. I was set to qualify for Nationals in all lifts and got a detached retina two weeks before my meet.. A messed up injury. So I am shooting for end of May to qualify for Nationals in July. Point of all of this is people who do high level sports have been around, and are a little crazy. Finally, LOL, I am getting on in years and us old guys love to talk about our history.
@@abuhajaar2533 Now wait. They were state champs in the girl's division? If they were state champs on the boys team then how is it they couldn't beat any of the boys?

Would of loved to see her wrestle my schools 106 that benched 300 lbs and went D1 in wrestling, track, and is currently training for Olympic weightlifting lol not taking anything away from her but must be a weak division
Not just that, it wasn't reality. Go check WWE twitter for the closer footage. Then try and tell me that Granby roll at the end wasn't 100% unresisted.
amazing to see what heaven has done and all praise and congrats for her amazing win, but my personal opinion this state match looked a little slow and mediocre for a state final. once again great job heaven and I can't wait to see her and what she does in the future
I can see an advantage for girls at lighter weights. At least when I was in high school you would notice that the lighter weights classes were mostly won by freshman. As a girl she could be a senior and still wrestle the ;lighter classes,
That's because making the very lightest weight class becomes extremely hard for upperclass men. Short of being devoid of practically all fat and muscle, it's hard for a boy over 5 feet tall, let alone significantly taller than 5 feet, to be under 106 pounds and less than one out of 500 full grown or nearly full grown boys are under 5 feet tall, probably even less nowadays...
@@gabec6522 Yes but thats because the bigger they get the more muscle mass they have and then the guy wouldnt have to be best wrestler to win just be able to overpower her.
But the thing is, the audience is clearly sexist, the media, even people who don't conside themselves sexist react and share how this boy lost to this girl, everything, just listen to everybody's reaction during the fight. Why should any boy accept afightagainst a girl if the world is clearly not ready for mixed fights. What is there for him to win ifhe beats her? Probably he would be accused of being too harsh or a sexist himself. Why is he on thousands of highlight reels? All based on their different genitalia. It is really pathetic if you think about it. The only way to solve this is to make mixed championships the rule. No more gender based inscriptions. Then with time people will just focus on skill not on genitals. And nobody should have to feel that pressure ""
Wrong. Girls beat boys in wrestling all the time now. It's not a completely uncommon thing. Everyone just accepts that the better wrestler wins. Only an ignorant person would mock this dude for losing to an elite wrestler like Heaven
Pretty awesome she claimed a state title, but I wrestled my entire life in NY and this didn't look like state level wrestling. Is NC not a big wrestling state?
Geoffrey Chippendale this is the 1A division in North Carolina. They break up NC into many “state” divisions resulting in multiple “state” champions. The 1A is supposedly the least competitive division in most states
Yea 1A is the division with the smallest schools, but not necessarily the worst wrestlers.. Just a lot more opportunity for better wrestlers at bigger schools.. 4A is the highest, and generally the most competitive. NC has definitely gotten worse over the years, but has never really been one of the best states for wrestling
I thought the same thing. They didn't look like the skill level that I'm used to in a state final match. Her opponent was either not very good or was throwing the match.
I just wish Danielle Coughlin would’ve gotten the same views and respect that Heaven did. Even Michaela Hutchison didn’t get this much respect, when she beat boys in Alaska for the state title. Dudes are always like “XYZ state is weak in wrestling, so girls winning this is not a big deal.”, and all that bullshit.
Yes she did. Her name was everywhere for weeks. Side story, we were at Nationals in Clorado Springs. Younger kids had to wear head gear, Reni(my kid) forgot hers, Michaela gave Reni her headgear.
the boys she beat, will they now be traumatized? how will they face their 'boys', knowing they got wooped by a girl? jokes part, sports like Tennis, Golf, where no contact is involved, still refuse to have women compete against the men. this is a great move by wrestling breaking down barriers....
breakingf down barriers in the 110 lbs weight class for early teens... wow what a victory, hopefully she starts some T hormones to go through the same puberty those boys will when they double in size and she remains the same. What a joke.
I'm shocked to see this to be honest. Especially her 54-4 record. The boys are suppose to be stronger than her but goes to show that technique always beats strength in Wrestling. Props to Fitch, outstanding performance.

I've watched this several times in an attempt to find a positive for Luke, but I've failed. He was outclassed physically and technically. Luke was done, he had nothing left and the buzzer saved him from further embarrassment because I'm sure he would have been pinned. Heaven on the other hand looked as though she could do it all again and her victory flex at the end shows that she knew he was well beaten.
Excellent break down @gtijohn69. Yes, a totally dominant victory for a clearly superior female wrestler. Loved her flex at the end. Too bad she didn't get a chance to pin him. I've been seeing a lot of dominant victories by females over males here on RU-vid so this match doesn't even surprise me
