We have sailed on the Jade twice, once to Norway, and once to the Greek Islands. We really loved this ship and its crew. Tony, we love everything you do, but your ship and port videos are what we think you do best. Your joy of cruising and your curiosity make these videos compelling. And, they make us want to cruise more. Thank you!
We were on Anthem if the Seas back in April with our grandchildren. They had a penny crusher at the entrance to one of the dining rooms. It required three $1 coins, which we didn't have. We tried the casino and guest services, and they didn't have them either!! So, we mentioned it to our maitre de in our dining room. He and our head waiter fixed us right up!! They got my grandson the souviner flattened penny and some foreign coins he could have also. It just shows how the crew will bend over backward to help you out!!
Tony, you are the best at bringing us the port and cruise ship tours because you make us feel as though we are walking alongside you. I sailed on Norwegian Sun to Alaska in 2005 and loved that ship, especially the outside promenade deck that the newer ships don't have. I wish the cruise lines would build ships to cater for those of us who prefer this sized ship with the traditional design.
You were working very hard. Great Stirrup Cay and Ship Tour filmed the same day! Great video! Brings back memories on her. Loved the outdoor seating for the Great Outdoors! Kudos to NCL for maintaining an older ship!
I am a big fan of the jewel class ships on NCL. Lots of great specialty dining for a midsize ship, very manageable size for someone who's maybe not as fry and energetic as he used to be, and great bathrooms even in the interior cabins. The great bathrooms in the standard cabins, with the three zones and private toilet, and the fluffy friendly shower, you can find any non- suite cabin. Also, like you showed us today, lots of cool little private areas and dead ends and one-offs of spaces where you can find really cool stuff.
Hey Tony Great ship tour, I really like the older ships on NCL,MSC and Royal Caribbean. They all seem to have the open deck that you can walk completely around the outside the ship and the outdoor seating at the café on the Fantale /stern of the ship.
Congratulations Tony on the recent steady growth in the total of your subscribers. I note that few of your fellow “Cruise Bloggers” are able to do the same. You are way more entertaining and personable. It is a formula that others must envy.
The Jade is a favorite. It’s so classy, and I love the layout. The only 1% I don’t adore, are the two areas for the shower and toilet room. Very tight and confining.
I love a mega regga walking talking cruise ship tour! Seeing all of the venues and all of the decor helps me imagine what it would be like to be on board! All that walking and talking is a lot of effort on your part, but it is very much appreciated! Hope I get to see you on the Lido one day.
Tony, we went on the Norwegian Sky for our 50th anniversary last December for a 10 day cruise out of Miami. Though it was an older ship and smaller ship, we absolutely had a great time.
I cruised on this ship back in 2011 to the Mediterranean when it was only 4 years old. Loved this ship and its size. It's one of 4 Jewel class ships in the Norwegian fleet. The other 3 are, the Jewel, Gem and Pearl. Just the right size of ship. Only 2,394 passenger capacity. The shows are great, and it doesn't seem to be that crowded. Love the buffets, the main dining rooms and the specialty restaurants. You don't have to reserve a spot to see the shows. You just go to them and enjoy. You can walk all around the ship on deck 7 or walk next to the jogging track on deck 13. Great views and good exercise.
My mothers’ dream had always been to go to “Hiwaya”❤. In 2007, I chose to be brave 😉, and took her (77 at the time, along with my granddaughter at 7) to Hawaii on the Pride of Hawaii (now the Jade). Although it seemed like I had taken 2 children at times, it was so much fun, beautiful, and such a blessing to enable my mother to see the only place I ever really heard her talk about hoping to see before she died. What an Adventure, and we loved the ship AND loved Hawaii. Ship looks very different now though. Thanks Tony for another great video! Glad Ms. Jenny was able to join you!
Hi Tony. Watching this tour has brought back memories of being on the dawn. I did the penny pincher machine one time. Didn't think anything more about it. We were stopped getting off the ship and told to go to guest services. There was a fee for that coin that had to be paid... Who knew. 😂 . Oh the memories of the dial on the cabin door. Great tour. As always thank you for all you do
Thanks Tony, I just saved this for my NCL section. That way I can go back and look for research. We LOVE the smaller ships. LOVE the areas in the "Spa" for the library and game room. Do you happen to know if they have charging ports if you want to get some work done in either of those rooms in a quiet environment? The "mega" ships are not for us. Much appreciated.
If the ship is well maintained and renovated now and then, it could still be very desirable. My first cruise was on the Norwegian Spirit and I still have very fond memories of it.
Love it! My wife and I got married in Santorini during a cruise on the Jade last October! Brought back many good memories with friends and family. Thanks for all your videos.
I enjoyed my time on the Norwegian Gem. Not too crowded, not too big, not too small. The only difference between the Jade and the Gem are the locations of Bliss Club and Tradewinds. Bliss on Gem is located where Tradewinds is on Jade. Tradewinds on Gem is where Bliss is on Jade.
I was on the Jade last month and loved it. I spent most of my time on the promenade deck, the deck above the pool deck and at The Great Outdoors. I had an enclosed balcony which I really liked. Great cruise that stopped at Curacao, my favorite island. All around, fantastic cruise.
We have been on the NCL Dawn & Sun which are about the same size and we loved both, we have also been on the Encore & Joy and loved them too. On the Encore & Joy we were lucky enough to be in The Haven, which was really special.
Jade and her sister ships Gem and Pearl were built mid 2000's. The early 2000s ships are Star, Sun and Dawn. I loved the Gem's backside outdoor eatery attached to the main cafeteria!
This reminded me of the Jewel ship I was on through the Panama, all those outside viewing areas are so nice in warm weather cruises when a cruise is spending a day in something like the Panama. I went on the Dawn last fall through the Suez, it’s not as nice as the Jewel and Jade. I love the Great outdoors area, sat there almost every night, eating, drinking and watching sail away or the sunset. And the Spinnaker is beautiful for views from the inside. I’m going on the Sky this fall, it looks to be quite similar in design so I’m looking forward to that. I love these mid size ships. Thanks for the video, I will be keeping Jade in mine for a future cruise.
Been on the Jade maybe twice and the Gem definitely twice all back in the later 2000's. The rooms are ready for a refurb. I did love the Mini suites as they hade more room in the living room and a decent sized couch and the baths had a tub shower combination which was nice.
Tony always have a good presentation all the time very specific, not in a hurry, taking his time. I always watch his channel. Thank you Tony the Gentle Giant. My next NCL Jade cruise is on May 2025 Norway.
Ship looks great for an older ship. I sale RCCL more often than NCL lately. Small item that I noted. Room phone on the wall. So much better than on the end table where it takes up way too much valuable space!
Thank you, Tony. 🙌 You do the best tour vids. This is a very helpful tour. I'll be on the Jade for my 1st cruise in November. I'll be watching this again, several times - and maybe I'll actually be able to find my way around.
Thanks Tony for sharing this video with us and I really like the NCL Jade. We really like these walking tours that you do!! Gives us the feel of the ship love it!❤ give my best to Jenny. Thanks again.🛳️🦩⚓️💐🇺🇸 and have a happy Fourth of July🎉🇺🇸
I'm in the West Palm on the east coast. Thank you for making these videos. This ship tour was nice and informative. I haven't been on a cruise in years and am way overdue for one. Keep making great content.
I really like the older ships better of most lines. This looks good to me as there are no lifeboats blocking the balcony views. You can see straight down.
My wife and I have an upcoming cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. Thank you for your ship tour of the Jade. Really loved it. I’ve been viewing your videos as you’ve been traveling with NCL. Keep it going. Love your show. 👍
I love NCL ships. My next cruise is May 2025 on the Breakaway. Your tour of the Jade shows just how similar most of their ships are designed. Thanks, happy cruising.
Another smaller (even if older) ship fan. Enjoyed 14 nights to S Caribbean out of Tampa; we had a 7-night set of menus repeated the second week. The lounge venues for trivia are so much better than using the Atrium on the Joy & Encore.
The "Little Norway" shuttle looks like one of the 2 that used to be on the "Norway" and shuttled people to various ports because of its depth. St. Thomas we would have to shuttle
I love the ship tours! I’ve never been on an NCL ship and I’m really impressed with the Jade. It’s small but has enough places to eat and drink as well as a nice library and card room. I also liked the lounge at the top with all the windows. We like to sit in there on the Royal ships and read or just watch the sea. I also like the lounge chairs on the promenade deck for the same reason. I like the decor too. Guess I’ll have to book a cruise on her! Thanks Tony!
