The black you see on the trees near bonds and distilleries is caused by Whisky Fungus (Baudoinia compniacensis), which thrives wherever there is alcohol in the air.
That was scary I’ve been looking at riding from the source of the Clyde to Dumbarton and how off road I can do it. Just love that David Livingston statue and the minute I saw it it screamed Harryhausen, I’ve wanted to see Bothwell Castle as well as I’ve never gone that far only to Cambuslang. Just so many interesting places in the area. Glasgow Cathedral also looks stunning at night, I did some photographs of it when visiting someone in the infirmary. I really need to have a wee look inside.
I love seeing all the different paths you cycle in and around Glasgow , with the added bonus of the drone footage and your chats about the historic landscapes you pass on your journeys , fab video yet again ! Keep them coming 👏👏
It is a scary road at times, I really wish they was a good protected way between Uddingston and NCN 75 to Westburn. I used the route a lot going to work in Glasgow, slightly bigger tyres on gravel bike to deal with the path parallel to London road. Nice video, I love use of the drone.
There definitely needs to be an Uddingston to Westburn part to make me want to go this way more often. The road here just isn't quiet enough to be considered safe. My next bike will be gravel as bigger tyres would help to open up so many more routes.
Instead of dealing with the violence everyone loses access. It's the same as barriers on paths for motorcyles. Berlin just builds third spaces everywhere...I bet there are no third spaces in these areas, hence the violence over competition for a third space. make it accessible and and BUSY and Passively secure and violence should disappear. I also think communities have changed. The small amount of "Gang" stuff in Govanhill near me dissolved when Park was made more visible from Street and it became really busy with families and children and Park features were upgraded.
Great video. Very informative as always. Cycled this a couple of times. However the part between uddingston and track (back roads) can be a bit daunting especially when traffic is heavy.
Would such a great day out if just sorted bit between Newton and Uddingston. FYI I know there is no trains between Newton and Uddingston think you need to get on at Cambuslang instead
Great video as per. I always seem to make similar mistakes crossing over to Cambuslang. I still haven’t found the way out to Bothwell since I did it on foot years ago, even then I went round in at least one circle. I’ll have another go this year.
That’s only the 2nd time I’ve cycled through Bothwell. Will definitely go that direction again this year as there was a few other things I would like to check out over in that direction.
