Now that you have heard the English version of NCT-127's "Regular, if you haven't already, you should also check out NCT-127's Korean version and WayV's Mandarin version. And once you have done that, you should then look up the lyrics to all 3. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics for the Korean and Mandarin versions and compare them to the English version you will see that even though it's the same beat and the same title, the lyrics are different for all 3 songs. (The Korean MV is slightly different from the English version because the lyrics are different, so the story they are telling is different.) For example, like everything NCT does, it all has to do with some aspect of a dream. In the English version what you see are all things that people would dream are possible when they have all the fame and fortune in the world. I think it's supposed to be like they are characters within a crazy dream world. In the English version the tiger is used as a big flex to show that they are so rich and famous that they can even command the respect of a tiger. However, you will see in the Korean version the tiger is more of a symbol of courage and bravery, as a way to symbolize how they are working hard to be their best selves. For "Regular" Jongwoo has officially debuted as a member of NCT-127, so now there are 10 members in NCT-127. Fun fact: WinWin is the only member who is in all 3 versions of "Regular" because he is a member of both NCT-127 and WayV. (I believe this is the last MV, so far, where we see WinWin as a member of NCT-127. It was released in 2018 and WayV debuted in the beginning of 2019.) If you look up the lyrics for the Korean version you will discover that the lyrics for the English version of "Regular" are almost opposite of what they are talking about in the Korean version. That's why the album is called Regular Irregular. The English version is what I would describe as the cocky version of the song and it hits on the aesthetic of what appeals more to an American audience. The English version talks about being famous and having lots of money and still not being satisfied until they possess all the riches and fame. "Regular" is supposed to be NCT-127's U.S. debut so that is why they made an English version. However, the Korean version is what I would call the humble version of the song. The Korean lyrics talk about how they are constantly working hard and are never satisfied with the end result and how they hope to have the success that they always dream of, etc. -- which is what appeals more to a Korean audience. The Chinese version of the song also has different lyrics. The MV for WayV's version of "Regular" is about dominating in the technology realm and that is why in WayV's MV you see them as stock traders in the stock market and at one point they are literally inside a computer, etc. It's all about dominating in the business world. "Regular" was technically WayV's debut song as well. You should really take the time to see what makes the 3 versions so different, besides the fact that they are in 3 different languages. :D It's really interesting to see how 3 songs can be created in 3 different languages using the same beat and feel, and yet have completely different messages. It just goes to show how diverse the music industry is and yet still so similar. :D

I also would LOVE for you to check out NCT leader Taeyong's solo stuff. He writes and composes a lot of his own stuff. Unfortunately, most of his songs are not official releases, so there aren't many MVs. He experiments with a lot of different styles and themes. From Taeyong, I'll recommend "Ghost", "Blue," and "GTA 1" because I think you might really enjoy those. "Ghost" is the only one with a performance video, and there are concert performances of "GTA 1", but for "Blue," just watch a lyric video. The lyrics are deep and personal, and if you liked "Child", you might like "Blue." Thanks!

Seeing that you love this Regular, I hope you'll check out WayV's Regular which is in Chinese. The editing is marvelous (many fans agree WayV's version is the best MV including me) and they exude the vibe of people with class and elegance. Make sure to couple it up with the eng subs from this one youtuber, taeins bcuz the lyrics are flexing so hard.
