Not you guys talking about National Childbirth Trust 😂 there is literally a video of Mark and Jaehyun talking about that exact thing (freaking hilarious interview) I used to think there were too many of them, now I just realize it’s more people to love and be impressed by. I’m gonna say the other person you should be aware of in this song (besides just everybody) is Doyoung, he’s the one hitting that glorious note on the bridge. He does that regularly in 127 as well.

Yes, you are correct that this is the mix and match unit of NCT. (U stands for United) This was the first time this combo of seven was on an NCT U track (they put this team back together for a b-side a couple years later called Volcano) Keri was exactly right (that is indeed Jungwoo) and the one you couldn't place is Winwin. Yes! Another MarkYong enthusiast! I too love every minute that Mark and Taeyong have a duet. And they have some amazing duet stages you'll have to check out someday. Search for Mad City (on their first mini album) and some that only have live concert stages: Undercover and Himilayas. Whiplash is also amazing and Lit hehehehe

While the rumours abt Lucas were never denied, they were also never proven… not to mention the allegations came from a stalker fan who has since deleted the original post abt it. It is possible there may be truth to the rumours but I think it’s mostly likely that the company saw the allegations and made him apologise quickly to avoid any more controversy and keep their name clean even if there wasn’t any truth to them. The way SM treated the whole situation was really rubbish and Lucas and fans definitely didn’t deserve to be left in the unknown for so long. A lot of people think Lucas was wrongly accused by stalker fans. This could be because he always stated that he hated the fans who call them constantly and try to follow them everywhere (rightly so) and they decided that he need to have a controversy and made one. it’s quite sad actually that a very valid opinion caused all of this to happen. A lot of NCTzens still love him and support him and are looking forward to his comeback. In the end he was such an important part of NCT and its growth and I also think that some fans really just want to hate him for the sake of hating him without actually looking into what happened. I hope you still talk about him in a positive way on your channel, at least for the videos he has already done because the man worked so hard for so long to have his career so it would be a shame not to appreciate that. Basically the fandom is very torn abt it and there’s not a proven he was innocent or he was guilty. NCT-U's "Boss" has 7 members -- Taeyong (NCT's leader, main rapper and dancer), Doyoung (main vocal), Jaehyun (main vocal, sub-rapper and visual) and Jungwoo (Main vocal) who are members of NCT-127; Mark (Main rapper and dancer), who is a member of NCT-127 and NCT-Dream; WinWin (lead dancer, sub-vocal and sub-rapper) who is a member of NCT-127 and WayV; and Lucas (rapper and visual), who is now a former member of NCT/WayV. "Boss" came out in 2018 and this was Lucas' and Jungwoo's official debut as members of NCT. This is how they were introduced. When "Boss" first came out, everyone wanted to know who the cute blond rapper was -- the one who tips the chairs -- which was Lucas. But for us fans who have been following NCT since day one, we already knew Lucas. Lucas was actually first featured as an extra in NCT member Ten's "Dream in a Dream" solo MV in 2017 and we had seen him as part of NCT's SMRookies activities as well. In the "Boss" MV, what I think you see being depicted in the ceiling of the dome is something to do with the fact that it is all a dream, as well as pretty much everything that is happening in the MV. The group's concept is based on dreams, so everything they do has something to do with being in a dream, dreaming or some sort of dream state, etc. NCT-U was NCT's first sub-unit, which debuted in April 2016. NCT-U is made up of pretty much all the members, so, as you saw, they just add and subtract members from all the other sub-units depending on the concept for the song. NCT-U songs span a wide range of styles and genres and can include anywhere for all the members or only 1 or 2 members. The U stands for United, but I also like to think of it as Universal because of the way the group never has a fixed number of members. This sub-unit is designed to be fluid, which means the group is constantly changing and rearranging its members. They actually went all the way to the Ukraine to shoot the MV for "Boss." NCT are kind of known for their Vlogs and several members pretty much document all aspects of their daily life, and SM posts the videos on its RU-vid channel/NCT's channels. NCT is a group that is constantly changing and rearranging its members and sound and we never know quite what to expect from them. With a concept that allows the members to rotate between sub-units, changing, adding and subtracting members depending on the concept and style of the group or song, you should never expect the same thing from them. You are better off always expecting something new, that somehow, also ends up sounding very much like NCT. LOL As you are discovering, NCT is one of the most internationally diverse groups in all of Kpop. The members as a whole represent 8 different countries and they speak 7 or 8 different languages. For example, there are 11 native Korean members (*Taeyong, Doyoung, Taeil, Haechan, *Jaehyun, Jeno, Jaemin, Jisung, Jungwoo, and new members Sion and Daeyoung), *Mark is Korean-Canadian, *Johnny is Korean-American (from Chicago), 5 Japanese members (Yuta and new members Riku, Yushi, Ryo and Sakuya), *Ten is Thai, *YangYang is Taiwanese but he grew up in Germany, Hendery is Chinese from Macau (China) and 5 mainland Chinese members (WinWin, Kun, Xiaojun, Renjun and Chenle). However, they all live and work in Korea, so everyone speaks Korean fluently. Plus, many members have attended international schools or lived abroad, so there are several members who are also *fluent in English, on top of speaking 2 or more other languages. So, this year is NCT's 8th anniversary, but debut dates are different for any number of members because it all depends on when they were added to the group. And many of the members of NCT actually became recognized by fans even before debut because they were part of SM's pre-debut group project called SMRookies (or the new members who were part of a reality survival show called LASTART), so SM did activities with most of the members before they debuted. From my understanding of Lucas’s “scandal”, the whole thing was blown out of proportion due to misinformation, unwarranted hate, and bandwagon cancel culture. While many fans turned against him when the allegations against him arose for having multiple girlfriends and “manipulating” them into buying him gifts, more and more evidence began to come out showing that these claims were made by a sasaeng (stalker) fan who was upset with him. Similarly, their “proof” of some of the allegations they made against Lucas were proven to be falsified (like photoshopped receipts that they used to back their claims). Even with this new information, people didn’t want to acknowledge it and kept promoting this anti-Lucas agenda just for the sake of hating on someone. Do I think there could be some truth behind potential parts of the allegations? There’s always a possibility. It’s hard to decipher what is the complete truth or not when SM Ent. was forcing him to stay silent about the situation, making him post a purposefully vague apology when the scandal arose and kept it at that. Without knowing what could be false and what could be true (if any), I think it was not fair for the fans (and non-fans) to immediately attack him online and vilify him without knowing the whole story. Similarly, there were tons of antis who jumped on the cancel train and started creating rumors about him to further the hate against him. Either way, many nctzens (including myself) support and wish all the best for Lucas. Even though he is no longer a member of NCT, I don’t think you should have to censor or be wary of mentioning him when reacting to him in their content. He was such a huge part of NCT history, bringing so many new fans into the fandom and also creating some very memorable and iconic memes and killing parts of songs!

NCT U never has the same members in it. It will always be whomever the company best thinks suits the song. The only time they've had the same members is for the songs "7th Sense" and "Baggy Jeans". It can be weird to understand. Also Taeyong is saying "Goose Goose" Full lyric is "Hot dog feel like I wear goose goose"

I love all your reactions to NCT. They really brighten my day. Lucas is still beloved by most Czennies. The scandal was about him having multiple gfs and taking gifts from them. He was around 19 or 20. He is now 25. He admitted that his behavior was careless and has said he would not do that now. He still hangs out with the other members and goes to public events with them. He was not kicked out of NCT. He left out of the guilt he felt that his personal life issues had negatively impacted the careers of the other members. NCT'S music is so good. It was there main appeal to me. Not just how good it sounds but the experimental nature of it some hate I love. Every comeback is thrilling. You may not know what you're gonna get but you know it will be good. It’s considered by many to be a classic. I think that Taeyong and Mark are two of the best rappers in Kpop, and certainly one of the best combinations. I’m also convinced that Taeyong has never looked better than he does in this particular video, which is saying a lot, because he’s one of the handsomest men on the planet. 😂🥰

With Lucas it's hard to say, a lot of fans say he was acquitted but he wasn't ever charged and the evidence used for this is a deep dive done by fans of him, so it's not exactly an unbiased investigation into the matter. Both Lucas and SM didn't deny the allegations or press charges against anyone for false allegations and Lucas himself vaguely apologised for his wrong doings. He is no longer a part of both NCT and WAYV but appears to have a solo comeback/debut coming up.

One of the best NCT U songs. Actually Lucas is part of many of the best NCT U/NCT songs. It has generally been assessed that Lucas was wrongly accused as a whole, but he has also apologized for some of his mistakes/actions. Fans have done a deep dive into the situation and found that he was set up and falsely accused. However he still has a lot of haters. Maybe because of the hiatus that WayV was forced to take while the accusations were fresh. Or because he was such a prominent (and handsome) member. 💚

Lucas has not been acquitted of anything. He wasn't even charged with anything. Response to him has been very polarizing. Many NCT fans do not like him or would like to ignore him for what happened because of his scandal. WayV was effectively sidelined for 2 years because of his actions. His Chinese and Korean fanbases shut down even before the scandal reached its peak. SM has never denied any of the accusations against Lucas, nor were there any legal actions threatened or done to any of his accusers. All that what happened is that Lucas made a vague apology letter acknowledging his unspecified mistakes and was then put on hiatus. Most of the time, for big defamation-worthy scandals against SM artists, SM is quick to deny any false accusations and swiftly threaten legal action, like for what happened to Chanyeol, Irene, etc. None of that happened for Lucas. It's like they just waited out 2 years before letting him out of his cave.

Actually Lucas was the one who introduced me to NCT, I'm quite sad about the allegations that befell him. Agencies in Korea are very different in treating their foreign artists in resolving problems, especially if they are from China. It's very different if someone is alleged of being Korean, Knetz's response will be very different so that public opinion as a whole is very influential. Most Cnetz also like to take the law into their own hands, exaggerate things without definite evidence and make it worse. This has happened a lot since the first Chinese kpop idol Hangeng from Super Junior (not allegations but unfair treatment and unfair public response, especially knetz).

If you ask me SM failed again to protect an artist. This time with Lucas. The controversy was so stupid and kpop companies really should start , the majority at least, should really start taking better care of their artists and in legal terms as well. And if I am not mistaken people succeeded to dismantel (is this the proper word?) the accuser and that she wanted to take revenge on Lucas because he exposed a "saesang". There are tooo many kpop idols and even actors who were accused for stuff they never did or something would have been taken out of context and so on. I remember the controversy with Hyunjin from SKZ with bullying ...which apparently wasnt like it was told on the internet. SM's strategy though is letting their idols apologize even when they didnt do anything wrong. All I know is Lucas shouldnt have been forced to leave WayV and NCT as a whole. And fortunately he is still with us.... he did say he wanted to die at some point . I am actually not even surprised by that sentence....and looking up the sui*ide rate of S.Korea and what can lead up to it.... I said enough. Cant wait for more NCT U songs. BTW at the end of last year they had a concert as a whole...NCT Nation and they performed mostly NCT U songs with a few songs of their other units. I would recommend the Japan concert only because their camera work is a bit better but there is a korean one as well so if you want to do some live performances I would recommend from that specific concert. There are a few great ones in there.
