Thanks for the video. If you notice, 90% of the music at these events is jazz, acoustic, piano, all of them have something in common, the frequency range. Sellers are not stupid and choose the most suitable music for their product. None or almost none of the songs in this video, there are a few songs that are out of this group, reach beyond 60-70 hz. Most of these speakers drivers will struggle to play down to 40 hz and they make sure the selection of music won't highlight their product shortcomings. Obviously some buyers will be happy with their purchase as this is what they usually listen to but step out of this narrow music selection and you will be in for a nasty surprise. I recommend anyone to get all the technical information from the speaker of your choice, spinorama for example, before commiting to the purchase. Thanks for sharing.
Or play your own music if you can. They normally seem to pick songs that "sound good" even if you played them on crap speakers, or, they pick really annoying super forward vocals but people like it because it "sounds like the singer is in the room"
@@RennieAsh I beg your pardon but in my humble opinion I hardly believe it possible that I were to be allowed to play my own music in one of this Hifi shows.
Sorry for a barrage of questions but I am just curious. So, in your opinion only non-acoustic, therefore more processed music is the best way to evaluate speakers? Have you ever considered symphonic orchestra recordings good enough for you to test speakers and headphones? Can you provide here the title of your best test track? What are your (own or not) reference speaker/headphones you judge sound by?
Excellent recording. I am watching this at work on an iMac using final UX3000 wireless headphones, and I am constantly turning around thinking that colleagues are talking to me, only to realise that it is the totally immersive sound of your recording!
how can people keep on chatting in front of these great systems ... they are unbelievable Go at the bar to chat instead of disturbing who want to listen
I only skimmed through the coverage, but the Qualios were my pick for BOS from the rooms I heard. Smooth, open/airy, coherent and musical sounding. I'll have a longer listen when I have the time.
Hi. Can you tell me what the speakers playing between approx 18-20 mins in are please? The stand says ATR 4.0, (which I can't really find anything on) but what are the speakers?
Hello, thank you for the comment, and I'm sorry I can't answer your question since it's EWA our great employee that recorded the video since I could not get to the show.
Yes the microphones are hard fixed to the recording fixture,a And the camera is gimbalized right in the middle of the mics. Hence when fast turn happens, you can see a bit of the mic ;)
A great video! I have one caveat for the presenters. PLEASE make a product card or sign so we know what equipment is playing. How could we order something when we don’t know what it is? Sorry for being so picky but we need information.
Hello I totally agree. Why exhibitors don't take advantage of that is a mystery to me. It's obvious people will take pictures make videos and put it on line and where will the flyer do for them there ?
Do you think a subwoofer is really required for the 30hz region/ movies? I was hoping the 15“ could be boosted enough since the FH500 is normally running under much higher dB. Was already thinking about adding a port, which can be closed for music and opened for music listening for example, or building a bigger enclosure, not sure.
Krass, schaue gerade zufällig das Video und denke, wahnsinn wie gut die Lautsprecher klingen (die ersten), dabei fällt mir auf das es ja meine Lautsprecher sind die auch so gut klingen ... 🤭
@QualioAudio What Lampizator where you using at the show? Also could you tell us what the black boxes with orange knobs were on the sides (some kinda of amp)?
Few people live in homes where they are able to actually use the potential of fine audio gear. Headphones get close but they don`t rock the body. Audio gear is the seeking of status, nothing more.
I've got to disagree with that. Well I mean once you get above a certain level maybe you're right. But I'm talking from maybe 5 g's and up to maybe 30 g's I can totally see spending that kind of money to have the kind of sound one is looking for if you could swing it. But beyond the 30 G Mark, at least just for speakers, Come on. I can't speak for amplifiers, sound treatments/conditioners and or anything of the like.
You are talking cost and I am talking playback level. Ever live next to a neighbor that has sub woofers that shake the whole building? Realistic playback levels will get a guy evicted. Only those with a studio or detached well sound proofed homes will be able to appreciate what this gear offers.@@incredifunk
My home built speakers are a bit similar to the Qualios but my top 5" FR driver is totally open, with a woofer in the box. And I can easily hear the Qualios different voice sound to the rest of the speakers (through my made speakers). The open dipole idea not only brings more open and spatial sound, but (in my case) much cleaner medrange as well (by a large measure)! I get the same difference the Qualios have to the rest, with my made speakers compared to my boxed B&W 706 reference speakers. 😅
Congrat's to those displaying who used music that was actually capable of stretching their equipment. Simple jazz and blues, Amstrad could make that sound OK ;).
My home built speakers are a bit similar to the Qualios. With a 5" FR driver completely open on top and a woofer in the box. And the Qualios definitely stand out from the rest of the speakers (through my dipole speakers). With a more open medrange sound than the rest. I get the same diffence when I compare my made speakers with my B&W boxed reference speakers. 😅
It comes from the same family. We use smaller tweeter since our 6.5 inch Satori midrange driver goes to 8-10 Khz and we don't need to stress the tweeter with going very low.
Ok thanks. so between stressing the tweeter in 1k-2khz region and better impulse response from 1-8khz by going with larger AMT , you rather choose not stressing the tweeter?@@QualioAudio
Well I mean I don't know anything about those headphones but they can't be that great. I mean they didn't in fact come from a game boy right?! But my lands I would hope that the systems at the show were at least decent, My God!
Wow amasing how many of you watched this and said listen the quality is outstanding. ✋️ STOP DONT BUY ✋️ ANYTHING If that entire youtube video made you want one them systems why would you want to it's your own speakers that gave to you that incredible sound ... Don't be fooled !!! Buy Bose they are absulootly incredible I owned V20 IT was so clear so loud I never felt I needed a better system. Just saying 😌
You actually have a point there. I don't agree with your theory on the Bose however, but you absolutely have a point. So what that tells me and should tell others is that the quality of the source is and has been a lot of the issue
All these Audio Shows are totally nonsense. A lot of gear, underperformed in rooms with mostly zero treatment or any kind of dsp correction to get at least a little bit control over the sound + all this noise from the visitors. Its sad that maybe 5% of this ,,high end,, manufactures only use serious room treatment at this events and the rest give a fuck about anything. Impossible to get a good presentation (same also at the High End Munich...). It got a little bit better over the past years but still a lot of improvement
Only one playing band music ABBA. The rest simple music so won't be able to tell a lot about separation and sound stage. Hmm mm. Those white ones sound like two subwoofer with a tweeter
Always the same "charming", "acoustical", heavily compressed, overengineered, sparse recordings on HiFi Shows. This kinda music is no real challenge for most speakers. Just sayin.
Thanks for sharing all the beautiful gear yet your video has no value if you’re not going to review the products you took all this time to share with your audience. spent way too much time in each room. We could only look at speakers/gear/ sound so long…….boring Moving forward, make your content interesting Cheers
But still you had to watch, regarding music, there it something called taste, and it is different for many, when someone has to put down other people, then it says more about you than others. I am a bit curious, what is your taste in music, and please be civil 😜
@@gryphongryph Well, music with enough complexity and frequency spread so it tests the equipment might be an idea? Anything will sound okay with instrumental guitar. I bet many of these systems fall over when pushed relative to pro active monitors.
@@gweflj yes if you are listening mainly to big band music, jazz or classical, you would want the speakers to be able to follow the different instruments, but tone and timbre you can tell if a violin or any other non electrified instrument is true sounding, an electric guitar or piano you don’t have much of a clue if that was the real sound or not. It is interesting that my bbc speakers can do rock and pop very nicely, but they excel in spare jazz and classical recordings, but also in big orchestra, of course it all depends on the size of your room and if the speakers are powerful enough for your listening environment. I think I would always listen to voice reproduction and un amplified instruments to consider a pair of speakers, in my opinion if the designers get those things right, most if not all will fall into place.
