I use this song to help me cook rice. At the start of the song I measure out 3/4 a cup of rice and then after 26 minutes when I stop weeping I cook the rice.
I read the comments below, and I realize that never before have I seen so many different people highlighting different portions of a song. This is true art, and it's so amazing to see modern metal broken apart into orchestral movements like this.
I see this with Infected mushroom songs too. I actually like when there are these unique and new sections instead of simple repition. Also, you'd probably like this too (If the language barrier doesn't bother you that is): ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hGZL_5Wn3aQ.html
@@NickBrunnerYT he clearly understands music, so the language barrier won't bother him :) that's a great song you suggested there, also amazing how short it feels compared to this 🤣
@@facelesscovers763 I'd say it's just because metal isn't on top right now. Plus not everyone has the attention span to appreciate a song that's 23 minutes long. Ne Obliviscaris tends to make long songs, which I appreciate more. But I agree this band should be know to everyone who loves metal. Especially progressive metal freaks like me.
People are so used to getting their clinically designed 2-2:30 minute long pieces of music with the same generic sort of beat or framework that anything that ignores that paradigm is just beyond their tastes. I like to think that it's like in the Mighty Boosh where Vince is afraid of Jazz because, its too abstract for him to wrap his mind around it.
@@___meph___4547 I am literally so fucking happy that this is my music taste, holy shit it would be such a shame if I didn’t like this type of music, which most of my friends and acquaintances don’t like this type of music. Oh how I pity them

Lyrics 😁: Come forth dark herald Bringer of light Born by the burning swans and his plague breath Creator of the dream coil, a halo aloft As hands entwine Painters of the tempest, with their red hands The world their canvas Through the mist of the stormglass And Bruegel dreamt the angels above As Bosch danced in earthly delight Angels fall Into the canvas Reaching for the light Heaven is empty And all the beauty is here Upon this bone palette The sway of nine-tails Layered lashings of euphoria and chaos Triptychs unfold like wings As the arms of our fathers bear the weight of what they've done Anti-matter-martyrs Warmth of life Where they sing of fire Children's eyes, for they all shine As tears rise, oceans of flame billow When all dreams lose hope Angels fall (And Bruegel wept for the fading sun) Into the canvas (Where have all the angels gone?) Reaching for the light Heaven is empty (Where have all the angels gone?) As hell below (The angels gone) And hell below (Gone!) Painted by ghosts Lords of lifeless eyes In this garden of wilted flowers Vultures spake the mother tongue Hear the children A breathless sleep Where they dream a new day Echoing Oh when they dream Ebb and flow... free falling Beautiful and calm And fragile, and whole Where they dream a new day Through the coil they course and carousel Echoes Hear the lost children Hear the children sing Through the coil they carousel Within this stained glass womb They sing with open minds Within this stained glass womb They see with open minds The event horizon and beyond A wasteland and so barren Haunted by a sea of pale faces The city of lost children Raising their death-shrouded flags Can you hear the redrum pounding? The heartbeat of many as one Curator, father, what have we become? Radiance, blinding horizon The brilliant sunrise Their horizons, where they seize this life Our children Painters, they are They are, the change Painters
Saw 'em live, chatted with them, bought their record... There is a list of my yearly top 5 metal bands/albums I send - as a lucrative thing - to my metalheaded friends every year. This was my nr 1 discovery/album of the year. This is a masterpiece. Nothing less.
If you want to open up your vocabulary you should read Thus Spoke Zarathustra or Eyeless in Gaza I can honestly say those books have changed my view of the world in certain aspects
Oh yeah! I intended to read Zarathustra since I played the Xenosaga series for ps2. The third game is named after that book. Thanks for the reminder and recommendation
This song is too good to exist, my first listen put me in some sort of trance from just how amazing this was to listen to, I've never heard something quite like it before
drove thru the rockies one summer and had this playing as soon as i crossed into CO. the sunset over the mountains while part 2 started was a definite highlight of my life and ill never forget the memories i made with this bands music.
This band has provided me of about a decade worth of musical masterpieces over the years. They were my friends, my companions, my lovers. Through every hardship and happy moment, they were playing somewhere in the background here and there. I fucking adore this band and they are one of the most unique groups out there, within metal and otherwise. God damned Australians, way to good. (I discovered Ne and Be'Lakor around the same year almost a decade ago and God damn is all I can say to describe these two Australians bands)
Saw NeO a few weeks ago in Chicago. I’ve seen Rammstein, Iron Maiden, and Sabaton. I can with 100% certainty say that in that small venue with no props other than lights and their harsh vocalist couldn’t even make it, Ne Obliviscaris was the greatest show I’ve seen. First time entering the pit and during the soft sections we all danced together and then hell broke loose and it was chaos, again loved every second. If they’re ever even remotely near I’m seeing them again and I recommend everyone else does too.
I was at Chicago too, it's was my first concert and I skipped classes and took a train for 4 hrs to see them!! Shame they didn't play painters of the tempest, I was really looking forward to that one, but it was an incredible experience nonetheless! Would do it again in a heartbeat
This has more facets than a diamond. It's not the kind of music you would blast during a six hour road trip, it deserves a better listen than that. It's the kind of movement that deserves a smoked bowl, and a bottle of the best whiskey you can afford, while you just sit down, and give it your full attention.
Since I've discovered the band like a month ago I am proud to say I am now completely addicted. To me, it's on par with BTBAM and Opeth as my favourites bands.
@@Jag211313Æther Realm definitely isn’t exactly as “elegant” as these other bands but I’d be lying if I said The Sun, The Moon, The Star isn’t one of my favorite songs ever. I need a song like that that’s an hour long.
It's like classical + metal music merged together to create a beautiful and complete harmony holy sht this is by far better than finding gold and diamonds and I love it!!! By the way am I the only one who feels a weird feeling of relaxation and relief when the violin starts playing?!
for what music they create , they are seriously underated and must reach into every corner of this planet and to other galaxies, earth is just too small for their greatness
Does anyone else cry almost uncontrollably when listening to this? I've heard this song 50 times or more and tear up every damned time! It is an incredible release.
Saw them at bloodstock this year and they were by far The best band on the Sophie stage and the second best band overall /i hope they get the few lucky breaks they need to be huge
Osu is hands down my favourite game of all time, not even because I like the game itself, osu has showed me my two favourite bands of all time, Ne Obliviscaris and Avenged Sevenfold. Words cannot express how grateful I am to osu and the mappers for exposing me to these bands. It’s safe to say osu has changed my life even, for the better of course
As if the emotions of Rothko got shaped by Rodin and crafted with the mind of Da Vinci, in a way only van Gogh can put Turner’s light on to this impressive canvas.
@@schattepoezel8541 yeah but usually when People compare like that its bands that existed before. True, but ne obliviscaris had released the ep which had 3 songs from portal in 2007
this is so perfect can relax just here drawing a dragon while listening to this makes me focus easier i havent really drawn properly for the past 2 years
i think we should create a museum called after their name and we put every single album/track there with every lyrics written and every album art its the least we can do to appreciate their work of art
