Hardly anyone does a pike in less than a 90 degree angle on floor or beam dismounts. I would consider Aly's a really good pike. The only piked elements less than that are uneven bar releases.
@@midnightdreamr If you have enough rotation for a more open pike position they would want the athlete to snap into a deep pike and Kick out. Look up Jia Fangfang and Olivia Trautman are the only two I could think of that do it currently, but it shows that you have complete control over your body positions during the salto.
I think they needed this rule along time ago. Glad its going to be done for next year. I hate it when floor exercise is a pose fest. And everyone is wondering what the heck the sound effects are going on in the background have to do with them.
The rule concerning the position in jumps does not apply to jumps with 360° turns! Only jumps with 180°. I think this will mostly concer the side split jumps with their the quarter-quarter technique.
It does seem a bit weird to have the turn rule only affect wolf turns like it’s some sort of personal attack (which it is thank god) but I think they thought that too cause it was originally all turns but glad they changed that. However I’m not a fan of the split leap/jump/yang bo rule, it doesn’t apply to split jump/leap or any other variation and I don’t like it. There’s no need
I agree with you 100 percent. In the video that I had originally uploaded I thought they would not attack the wolf turn and thought it would apply to all turns but it doesn't. Same with ring jumps. It seems like they just put a stop to things that are more popular now. I don't like the Tkachev rule either.
@@triplefull7057 I have a feeling that we’re going to see AAers with at least one reallly bad event as it’s now so hard to build difficulty with all these new rules
@@rosspalmer6849 No worries the gymnasts have another couple years to find a few loopholes, that's what the cop covers but the gymnasts are always smarter ;)
@@awesomemortercycle1 Yes that what’s will happen but the they’ll get rid of that in the next code and so it goes on. My question is how long before everything is against the rules where do we go from there. Imo there needs to be a complete overhaul starting with removing Nelli Kim . I’d be perfectly happy to write the new cop myself tbh
I don't understand the requirement for reaching the position of turning jumps either at the beginning or end of the turn rather than during it... that means the standard technique usually used for jumps with 1/1 turns will have to be changed drastically? Usually for 1/1 jumps in tuck, straddle, wolf, or split positions the way gymnasts perform them is by reaching the position halfway through the turn; it seems like they're further discouraging people from performing those skills, as it would be REALLY hard to do something like a straddle jump 1/1 with the straddle at the start or end of the turn rather than in the middle...
@@Crystal81Starr yeah it’s already super difficult to show straddle position and make the 1 1/2 now it’s almost impossible. I even think doing the 1/1 is also impossible
I wish they would tell us the general aim of the changes, they seem a bit random. I still think we will see carbon copy routines, the biggest annoyance for me, especially on bars. The root skills ban may help a little and bring in some original skills. Shame that double tucks are a D, so boring to watch at any point of a routine and nothing like as hard as a double pike, when in the past an E would have been standard to have a hope of a medal. I'd just make it 3 lines maximum of your best work. I wish they'd reward longer beam or floor combinations. I'd have liked an old school static balance like a handstand or arabesque but otherwise minimal pauses on beam so they flowed more. I don't see anybody doing flairs over a full turn. Goodbye double twist dismounts though! The musicality on floor could be good, might lead to a bit of cheerleading or dad dancing however. The full document is worth a look!
@@triplefull7057 Aaah ok, thanks for telling me. Honestly I want the controlled and choreographed lunges back. However, it might become overused, like the candle stick mount and other skills, which means it won’t be there in the quad after that. It would look great tho.
The last video wasn’t based on the final version of the 2022-24 COP, but the draft version released in 2020. There were multiple errors. I’m glad it’s been revised 🙂
It's not a turn requirement anymore. They're replacing it with a unique skill type of requirement so a broader range of skills can be used to fullfil the requirement.
What Simone does in that clip should NOT be considered proper musicality. With the exception of the little miming movement to the "Oh!" sound, her body movement has no correlation to the music.
@@noahrosenzweig5592 i saw the original video that was deleted and it said that not only the wolf turns that would not be valued if done more than once, it applied to all turn skills, so i thought all her turns wouldnt be counted, forgot it only applies on wolf turns
