Students in the Clark County School District continue to skip classes at an alarming rate, even as the district has launched efforts to crack down on absenteeism.
I missed one full year of school from grade 1 to grade 12. I was bored out of my mind! I actually graduated one year early to get OUT! That was over 50 years ago. Today I wouldn't go due to the mass shootings across the country. Maybe these LV students are really smart...
CCSD thinks that suspending or RPCing Students for their (10 per class) absences will get them to attend class when it really does the opposite for some kids. That's what they tried to do when I was in school. *How about taking a survey and asking the STUDENTS??* There's a reason why they aren't attending class and it's probably because they HATE it, don't feel safe, or the system. *Find the problem first.*
CCSD has been absolutely horrible for over a decade. We have been last in the nation for education for as long as I can remember. Teachers aren’t getting paid enough so they don’t care. Kids are not engaged so they don’t go. It’s a lose lose situation.
I work in the district and the schools are terrible the educational programs are weak .. this kids need more than school . School is trash and takes away from their real talents and skills .
