when the tide is all the way out, on the other side on the Aberavon beach you can walk a great distance or get muddy boots from taking a few shortcuts, but you can walk quite far out to sea along the barrier. Found so many golf balls there :)
having motored next to marker posts a lot, your not missing much. My grampa always called them the cormarant stands as there is always a bird on one of them.
