These fishing knots come in handy for all sorts! I needed a good knot for hanging sea glass windchimes, and remembered your bombarda fly knot - perfect! ☺
Hi Paul, cheers mate hopefully more to come this year. once you thread the line through the bombarda thread the line through a rubber beed or float stop then tie your swivel on.
So I've invested in a couple of Bombardas. What are the advantages and disadvantages of dark or light colours, or clear. The two I've purchased are very dark Abu sinkers 25gm. I didn't realise when I ordered them. Very informative vids 👏👍
Hello mate, I can’t really comment on the dark bombarda as I’ve never used them. I’ve always gone for the sinking clear bombarda. Personally I think the clear is less intrusive visually in the water but like I said never used the dark ones mate. The majority of the time that I use the bombarda the water is clear. It’s up to you buddy but if it was me I’d send them back. The clear certainty don’t put the fish off in fact in certain light conditions I’ve seen fish going for the bombarda, I don’t think that would happen with the dark ones, although it would create a dark silhouette. You never know they could be better for water that’s not so clear.
@@AboveAverageAngler it may have been the intermediate one I had in the past but it still sinks. Better going on eBay the unbranded ones are just as good and it’s what I use now and much cheaper. Link below www.ebay.co.uk/itm/204310852302
@PiscatorUK-Fishing cheers pal.. that clears it up for me. I'm going to get set up and have a couple of sessions filming for my channel. You ever used em on the Solway?
I've been down trying this method in a few places. I'm a mackrel so far, but I am feeling positive for a decent fish what fly do you reccomend for a decent fish lol 😆
@PiscatorUK-Fishing thanks 😊 I jumped into tickers in Helensburgh on the way out today, and the guy sorted me out really nice guy. I'll deff be going back to the new pit stop for sure. Got one wee one back safely was more just a practise cast day and play about with leader lengths n flys I want to try the wee jigs need to have a look for some cheers
Hi, firstly thanks for watching and commenting. The uni knot is one off my favourite knots for its security. For tying lures and flies I like the nonslip loop knot as it allows the fly or lure to move freely which makes the fly act more animated/natural in the water. Check out my video on my top 5 knots where I explain this probably in better detail.
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing Thanks very much. I understand what you mean. The uni knot is one i've been doing since I was kid. I shall learn to tie the non slip loop knot. I have never heard of the bombarda setup before but I will definitely try it out as I am near the sea in Dublin. Great video, thank you.
I caught a few bass using the same method, love the variation of mixing lures an switching to the bombarder, got some amazing weedless makara teaser rigs of ebay. Really nice teaser flys and the cotton candy works a treat on the float
Hi, am I right in saying that there are 3 basic types of Bombarda: floating, slow sink (intermediate) or fast sink ? I am struggling to find information to clarify this online. Which type/weight/size of float do you use when using your preferred sandeel fly pattern ?
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364352021185 The link above is the bombardas I currently use and have been over the past two years. They are unbranded. There are 3 types of bombarda, I use the all clear sinking bombarda, I don’t look for anything else. 20 gram is my go to size but I have used 15 and 25gram. The all clear bombarda always sinks. The floating and intermediate are opaque/white in colour, the intermediate will have a brass insert inside the bombarda to make it sink at a slower rate. There are some branded manufacturers that make different colours like black, I’ve never used them so can’t comment on how they perform. Don’t worry about length or size, if you stick to the weight I recommend you won’t go wrong.
@@PiscatorUK-Fishing Sorry to disturb again but on that web site you have to choose the "Item Model" A or B. Do I choose B as this model is clear coloured whereas A seems to be opaque ?
