Yep, that's a Catalpa. Had two giants in my front yard in Chicago. Took me, the wife and the three kids to get our arms all the way around em. When they get big the leaves are the size of loose leaf paper
Worms that are specific to the tree you asked about are great for fishing for large mouth bass down in the southern states. Glad you proved that your not just a grumpy ole man at such a young age. LOL, besides you've got plenty of time for that whenever you do get old.
I've got an idea for ya ! We had done the river in Arizona . .(Salt River ??) For tubes. I used 10:00 20's I had lashed in a rectangular laundry baskets...and we brought our two Golden Retrivers ! They sat or laid down paws up on the sides, enjoying the whole run. Truck tubes are best...Imo..as their nails don't puncture kid type tubes. Next time bring da Duffmeister !
Those are catalpa trees. I have several on my property. Bats love them and they are real pretty when they bloom. Seed pods are a pain to clean up and they are heavy and take damage easy in high wind. Also it's Dead or Alive who sang "You Spin Me Round"
Catalpa tree, I had a few of those around when I was growing up. We use to get the worms off, go fishing. 😊 That looked like a great time on the river.

Awesome floating the river ,here in Texas we go to Glenrose near Dinosaur vally and float the Brazos river . I'm Casper white and sunburn to the bone even with sunscreen but it always a great time !!
In eastern Kentucky we would call that a Toby tree and the caterpillars that eat the tree we call toby worms. (Great fishing bait btw) But as other people have said its proper name is Catalpa or Catawba.

Tubing is the best!! We used to use old Truck and tractor tubes with the metal valve stem pokin ya in the back if you didn’t get in right. It is amazing how you know about all that bits of old car parts.
You had a center cap for a car that was called a Clipper, my Grandmother had one. Not sure which car company. She was born in 1886. In 75 and I remember her talking about it. She loved cars. Her last car was a 51 Nash Statesman. It had a big flathead 6. It was very fast for the day, lot of torque. I learned how to drive on it. I was 12 yrs old and would take her to the hospital 40 mikes away. This was in Maine. If we had been stopped she would have told the trooper to “leave us be, we need to go to the hospital.” She was a tough lady. At 10 years old she milked 10 cows morning and night! Her father was a mean mean man. I can see 16 but 10? Ugggg.
The tree is a Catalpa. Not common here in Australia but I have one. It is also known as an "Indian Bean" but although the seed pods look like a bean they are pretty much inedible. Greetings from Australia.

28:17 think I heard the Car Wizard say a flashing check engine light indicates whatever is wrong is causing damage to the catalytic converter. It flashes to create urgency so you go get it checked out. So yeah, maybe injectors?
Catalpa ..they get big green worms that the fish tear up..when i was young in West Virginia we called them cigar trees .yep we actually fired them up after they turn Brown..lol
If the code is only p0300 on the GMC service truck do a Crank relearn before throwing any parts at it. It was very common on the 6.0s in those years. I sold a customer hundreds in parts just to find out it was a relearn issue. Just a thought for you.
SWB stands for short wheel base... Someone somewhere along the line started calling it short wide bed... Meaning short fleetside.... It's kind of a regional thing.. but it actually stands for short wheel base
Enjoyed your Hidden Paradise clip. I grew up an hour south of there but moved away 50 years ago. Should have built a cabin back then and stayed there. Glad to see its still in operation and doing well. Might have to go back and float that creek..
