@@stephena5752he’s not wrong the offense hasn’t shown any growth the run game is non existent the receivers can’t create separation and the line doesn’t give raiola time. Defense is a complete train wreck too tackling is off the charts bad the d-line can’t get any pressure or push the linebackers don’t fill gaps and the secondary is slow and look confused. Not to mention the 3-3-5 scheme is complete trash. They’ve made zero adjustments throughout the season they won games because the other teams had incompetent offense except for CU and the way it looks they blew their load in that game and can’t get it back up is that enough insight?
@@chrisowen3264 it’s impossible to analyze yet. The team defenses are better than the first games, there is more film floating around, and you have an insanely talented freshman QB that needs reps. That doesn’t mean the offense is regressing . They had 20 first downs against Indiana. That’s insanely good for having zero outside threat. Nebraska isn’t going to beat teams like Indiana without faster guys that develop . It’s impossible . Those guys were all old dudes with crazy schemes
@@stephena5752your 7 games in if you don’t know what you have now or are to blind to admit or see it that’s on you but tape is there and it shows exactly what I said.
Every blackshirt and single digit number should be revoked after last Saturdays performance. Our supposed leaders were absent and abysmal. At some point the staff and players need held accountable. We are in a do or die situation at this point, and if anyone on the teams performance is not up to the Nebraska standard then it’s next man up. Don’t care if we bench seniors for freshman or demote coordinators.
So let me get this straight, he literally said, "Our perimeter blocking has been a deficiency for us the entire year and continues to be". So what does that tell us about the young cat 24 year old Garrett McGuire??? Was he ready for a power 4 assistant wide receiver coaching position? He was an offensive assistant in the NFL for brief stint a year maybe two. But the point being is guys that are 24 years old typically serve as graduate assistants first and work their way up through the coaching ranks most ex players don't jump in the position such as this they normally have to work their way up through the ranks. But his father is the head ball coach at Texas Tech and a friend of Matt, so he did him a solid and hooked up his son. But no offense, but Garrett is not ready for this. Coach Rhule should have brought in a solid (proven) wide receivers coach who can recruit, and teach all the schematics of what it takes to be a wide receiver, how to run good routes and how to block etc. I hate the fact that we're back to saying coaches need to go but changes need to be made. The staff is being out coached as they were in the Illinois game and definitely in the Indiana game. I highly recommend everyone take a look at the superiority of the Indiana coaching staff. Really look at their experience and you'll see what I mean as to why Saturday went the way it did. Surround yourself Matt with more proven coaches that came from (winning) programs who have put many people into the league and you will help this program rise like it should. But if you keep making excuses for your coaches that are holding you down such as Satterfield (Who was going to get axed at South Carolina) Maguire, and Ed Foley you're going to unfortunately go down with the ship if this continues. Even Tony White needs to step his game up. This is the second time he stayed in a 3-3-5 and made very minimal adjustments and continue to get gashed buy Illinois and now Indiana. He should have went to a 4-3 against Indiana. The in-game adjustments have got to get better and we have to stop being so stubborn and holding to a philosophy on defense that is not working against every team that we play. The defense has to adjust like a chameleon to the elements it's surrounded by or dealing with.
Another motivational speech. It's obvious to anybody who can see what our problem is. Satterfield and Foley need to be fired. Oklahoma just fired their OC after getting blown out in 2 games and poor offensive production. What will Rhule say after we get blown out for the second time in two weeks at OSU? He can't give cover to Satt like he did last year and blame it on injuries. This year: few injuries, a 5-star legacy QB and an O-line with a ton of starts under their belts. There should be no excuses. And nothing needs to be said about Foley. His special teams speak for themselves. Staring hard at 5-7 and no bowl game again.
@@rodsynovec1626The line has looked good in pass blocking this year. Run blocking is an issue still. It’s much harder to teach pass blocking than run blocking though so it’s a good sign they have made progress there.
Perimeter blocking might be better if you hired a coach that isn’t 12 with only walk on experience. This staff is a joke, the team looks worse than last year
Indiana’s offense is good, but their defense isn’t that good. There’s no reason the Huskers shouldn’t have scored 21-28 points and lost more respectively, other than poor coaching and team preparation.
@@NKA0713 I don’t think you have the personnel. You have two big receivers but they don’t get separation like that. His number 1 target is the tight-end. The OC is calling the game according to the personnel they have. You probably have one dynamic receiver in Barney I believe his name is. Raiola- struggles on the move. Trust when I say this, if those two D-tackles aren’t wrecking havoc, your secondary is very suspect.
@@deandrebinion3714 If u said this so me last year I’d 100% agree. However we brought in 2 transfers at WR, both guys are very talented and had 2 guys who were true freshman that started last year. We have the talent at WR and TE. The coaching is just terrible on offense. The RB room is a shitshow and Raiola shouldn’t be asked to carry this offense. I 100% agree that this secondary just might not be very good. We’ve had 2 games where the DL didn’t play great and they got cooked. @@NKA0713 that’s where we disagree. The receivers are very mid and not being disrespectful. It’s not a coincidence that the two you’re taking about does not have a 100 yard receiving game
You can’t use statistics from previous coaches to pad your stats. That’s disingenuous and creates arbitrary goal posts. Losing to teams ranked higher than you is supposed to happen 😂 if it wasn’t you’d be ranked higher than them. Der. You might also ask why Notre Dame lost to NIU and then controlled the game from start to finish against all other opponents much better than NIU. It’s all about schematics
@@stephena5752 Notre Dame didn’t lose by 50. There is no logical reason that we’re less competitive vs good teams than FCS teams are. Our average recruiting rank averages about 40 ranks better than Indiana. The only difference is their staff overachieves and ours underachieves. We would never blow out someone who recruits better than we do.
@@ChosenPlaysYT notre dame is peak notre dame and still lost to NIU. Nebraska is 50% Rhule at best right now. 50% Marcus Freeman would have lost to NIU by more. There is a logical explanation actually. The only reason Raiola is starting is because all the QBs Frost got are awful. Half the players playing are only playing because the Frost players are so insanely uncoordinated with understanding schematics that they have to play. You can’t compare one game to the next like you are trying to do. Not unless you are holding constants for all other variables which you aren’t
There is no threat of the QB or running backs, actually running the ball. Maybe we should put Haarburg to change the speed of things on offense. He's experienced and physical
Coach, quarterback question: yes, Dillon needs to learn how to play through hard times but at what point do you put in an experienced quarterback to try to get us back in the game we're playing?
Rhule made a comment close to "what? do we just add new runs plays to the playbook?" in a somewhat sarcastic manner, when asked about the ineffective run game. Well...yea that is exactly what you do. Nothing Satt runs is effective or intelligent enough to procure 4 or more yards. Abysmal offensive production.
Ever since arrogant Nebraska fans demanded the firing of Solich after a 10 win season Nebraska was doomed. Now if a coach won 8 games they would be labeled a great coach. Pelini never won less than 9 games. NU fires him. Nebraska is the only D1 team to not make a 6 win bowl since 2016. Rhule is a good coach, but the fans will get him fired before long.

The Indiana coach told his players all week that his team would break the will of your team, Coach. In other words, he saw a soft football team when watching film.

Still waiting on wtf happened or is going on with Mazzcua because we haven't been told a damn thing. Idk man. When it comes to football, I want guys who have a switch. You don't care how many stars they have, or how many awards they have, because you're about to eat their lunch. That's the kind of mentality I want. I want guys who want to beat the opposing team 70-0 every single week. That's the kind of mentality I see on Cignetti's team. They go into every game planning to score 70 and not let the other team score. That's the mentality. I keep thinking back to the CU game where we didn't even bother showing up the 2nd have. Instead of breaking CU'S will and putting up 50 on them, we pussy foot around and don't even score in the 2nd half. There is no one on the team who seems to want to f-up their opponent. Seems like they'd rather play paddie-cake and be nice to their opponents.
I wonder if the words "relax, refresh" will be used in regards to the next BYE week? The bye week presser from HC Rhule makes a lot more sense following the crap show that was on display Saturday. OC Satterfield needs to go - he should have never been hired at NU to begin with - let alone NU making him a top 10 highest paid OC. Absolutely nothing in his coaching history remotely suggests that his offense will turn the page at any point. Face the facts - he is not a good OC (he never has been) and is VASTLY overpaid. WR McGuire needs to be on the hot seat at the very least - a vastly underperforming unit two years running and is in over his head. The fact remains that he needed (needs) to cut his teeth on a smaller stage. ST Foley needs to be moved to an Admin position (or let go entirely). Foley has embraced Nebraska and I commend him for that. With that said, the on-field product speaks for itself.
Different play calling. Use penn st or Texas offense. Shit look at Illinois offense. Piece all of these offense together and come out with real good 5 plays with different formations. Anything is better than not having a tempo. Need tempo
Another diplomatic politician speech with softball questions. I don;t agree. He is slow and plodding, yes but has a very young team. Most of these players were playing High school a few months ago. Its difficult when you play against veteran players and a better scheme. The teams that use the portal are not built to last. A team that is built from the ground up, will last. This is frustrating though.
I thought the Illinois loss brought us back to reality. This loss shattered our reality. Very concerning to hear we had a really good week or practice and everything looked good until game time. Very concerning we got beat in every facet of the game. We want explanations and when you hear we just got beat in every facet of the game it gives little confidence we can finish strong.
We should have cleaned house brought in older winning players and build from there. That's what Indiana did. Rhules method will work but will take 4 years. Have to weed out the older players with the old losing mentality
Sorry, but he's just wrong. At 28-7 you kick the field goal. Maybe he misses but just going on 4rh and 8 every time isn't the answer. If you can't kick fields anymore ever just say that.
Our weaknesses: Average at best O line, running backs who miss the hole when the O line blocks, receivers who fail to block for whatever reason, a quarterback who doesn't scramble, an offense that claims to want to run the ball but begins the game like it's air Dylan, special teams that don't perform anywhere close to special, a 3-3-5 defense that gets gashed by any team with a pulse. Our strengths: ????????????? Fidone has good hands
Donavon riaola needs to be fired our line has been trash since he's been here. Goes without saying Satterfield and Foley need to go as well. need to throw big money at portal players and top assistants at elite programs
Also, they need Raiola to be more dynamic. Selling the play action more, running when it’s there and so forth. Teams are figuring him out and he is just not adapting which in turn means he is not getting coached up enough. They left him out there too long Saturday as well. The offense was just fine with Haarberg and arguably better at times.
I’ll agree with for the most part. Still holding on to some hope that we can take what he offers and elevate it. However, days like Saturday seem to be huge steps backwards.
He is a pass first coach. We were scoreless in the first half of the Purdue game and no points in hte second half of the Rutgers game. Our offense is averaging less than 16 points a game. We have schematic issues all around missed blocks lack of any running game. When your offense can't move the ball it puts all type of pressure on the defense. When you turn the ball over 5 times its pressure on the defense. That is why its an OC issue.
Pro offensive system is over the kids heads, besides Dylan. Explains the miscommunication, missed blocks, and especially checks at the line. Too intricate and very complex on the field and it shows. Just ask Bill Callahan. Wish Raiola had communication with receivers in that helmet haha.
The offense want as bad as many of you are proclaiming, we moved the ball, we just had misfortune at the worst times, we do need to throw the ball downtown to back the defense up, to many times the defenses are selling out on the run against us, we are running directly into the heart of the opposing defense..., our defense could use the same philosophy, make teams throw the ball more by getting more in the box on run downs, we have the spark their, just need to find a way to play 4 full quarters, not just 2 per game
These idiots calling for firing coaches are the reason college football has gotten to what it is. Everyone wants immediate success instead of building a foundation and having long term success.
Teddy Ruxspin is a great talker. I do not hate him, but he isn't what Nebraska needs. We need fullbacks, the best runners and run blockers. We don't know what to do with a 5 star passer. We have no history with that.
Dylan looks to layed back in the game. I want to see him with some energy. And why no quick routes for the rush. Every play was this long developing play. Ugh
Where’s the improvement over 7 games? Absolutely could have seen this coming and had at least 3 contingency plans in place😑 Middle of the season 😮 Coaches can’t play the game. The players need to show up.

Ill give him to year 3. If no improvement then ill be off the bandwagon... My expectations are still the same as it was before the season started which is 7-5. Blow outs are a big red flag though. Just saying.
I’ve been drunk on the Rhule aid. Love Coach Rhule, just can’t understand Saturdays dynamic against Indiana. They have a first year coach and experienced but seemingly mid players. They Destroyed Us! Just need clarity to understand why.
You might need to re-think the definition of "mid players". If your definition focuses on little stars next to a 16-17 year old kid's name, instead of CFB experience and demonstrated on-field production (which IU's transfers have in spades), then you are prioritizing the wrong criteria. If you're looking 2024 offensive stats, understand IU spreads the ball to 9 different RBs/WRs. No single player is going to jump off the page. Even if the players were actually "mid", playing mistake-free football goes a long way to boost performance. IU's football tradition is non-existent, a fact that has 0% impact on their 2024 team. Too many people are placing significance on IU's lack of track-record and that is contributing a lot towards your disbelief in NU getting their ass handed to them by a far superior 2024 team.
@@metalman3274 Um... not sure what I said translates to huffy and puffy, but whatever. I was trying to make a point without being overly insulting (unlike a small sect of NU fans), but it seems you missed my point. I'll say it more directly -> Nebraska has an improving roster, but the current team with more "mid" players is likely Nebraska.
This team throws the ball a little too much. Doesn't teach our defensive ends how to set the edge well. Doesn't teach or linebackers and safeties how to pick a run fit that isn't filled... b/c our LB's and safeties LOVE to bunch up with guys who already have a lane filled... and then a cutback or lane for them is open... so sick of it... and our WR coach doesn't know how to teach blocking or route running....and our college football team can't attempt a 29 yard FG attempt
Riaola is not pushing the ball down the field at all? Where were our 50/50 balls? How about the RBs not bouncing the ball out ever? Like you said, 14 points at 4 minutes left in 2nd quarter. We can not leave the defense out there all game.
It's not a true freshman riaola problem it's an OC problem riaola it trusting the play callers he is not experienced enough yet to override what he is being told to do
We controlled the football for 32 minutes. Indiana had it for 28 minutes. The defense wasn't out there all game. The defense couldn't stop them at all when they were fresh. We had 3 different drives of 10 plays or more. 1 of those resulted in a TD. The other 2 were turnovers (1 fumble + 1 Int). Hold onto the football and score on those 2 drives, it's a different ball game even as poorly as our defense played.
