I went up yesterday with the wife, and was blown away with the huge array of vw products, some of the crafters proved fantastic value for money ,but we have ordered a 204 dsg lwb highline swamper from van haven and we will be going to Dorset next week to see how the build is progressing. So looking forward to how you van build is getting on.
What a brilliant round up of the show. I agree with everyone who has said how much more entertaining and informative your video is than the channel 5 programmes. You packed so much into your 18 minutes. Thank you for yet another great production!🙂
Thanks for a great roundup of the show Shaun - you did a much better job than Channel 5! We went on Wednesday which was absolutely rammed so you did well to get in whilst it was quiet. Looking forward to seeing what you incorporate into your new Crafter!
Watched quite a few reviews of the show and, not surprisingly, yours is the best by a country mile! Saw loads more variety, who knew there was a pool!?
We were there Friday and loved looking at the variety of vans. Our highlights will be out next sunday and it’s so lovely to watch other people’s too- there were a few clips in yours of areas that we completely missed! It was so vast wasn’t it. Loved the colours on some of the VW you showed- so bright and vibrant! Thanks for showing your highlights- thoroughly enjoyed
That was a great review of the show. I love to see what else is at the show apart from vans, tents and motorhomes, to give me some ideas! Your videos are always first class. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome vlog Shaun !! I was gutted I couldn’t make it this year and didn’t realise it was a sell out !!! That van with the star cloth at the back is amazing and how stunning are those park homes
Only VW Layout I’ve ever liked is by Tonke, sliding doors on both sides and the kitchen rotates to become an outdoor kitchen so you don’t have to sit in your tin coffin to cook. No silly big wheels or body kits either.
Thanks for bringing this video out. Had no chance to get over to the show this year, planning on hopefully making it next year. It's good to get a glimpse of lots of different innovative approaches to campervans and accessories :-)
Why do I like your channel? You're a nice couple, you're knowledgeable and don't talk like a trainspotter. Ok joking aside you take me to places I can't go anymore; wheelchair bound and no driving foot. Left foot driving is too complicated after 50 years. All I need is a chaffeur and win the lottery.
Class show, really looking forward to the show in March here in Belfast, I love the swamper style, oh yes , lift it up with a good set of BF GOODRICH AT
We were there on Saturday and our Favourite was the Eco Wagon Expo+ till we saw the price :D. Rolling homes and Hills leisure vans looked great. Definitely more the off road look.
Nice video and good round-up, especially of some of the accessories. Vans interesting but with one on order mine is done and dusted. I do find all the “engagement hacking” on the videos from the last year or so (YT creators email hints and tips) a pain. All the what do you guys think and pause the video to leave a comment. Interrupts the flow and deters from the otherwise great quality. IMHO.
best NEC roundup i have seen so far. two many with poor quality and husband or wife arse blocking the view of the offerings, covered a good range and a good honest opinion with out being too " what if they offer us a trial in the future" reticence like many well done and look forward to see what has influenced the crafter build ( still think your mad going for longitudinal bed as wasted the six foot plus space down either side when you multiply it by width and by two , draw that space out on a floor and thing what you could do with it square) excellent video, quality, editing and content.
Thanks for an excellent video. Unfortunately we were able to get to the NEC we too have a new Ontario green lwb crafter van on order. So are watching your conversion with interest. We are going for front kitchen, mid longitudinal beds/settee and rear loo and garage for bikes etc.
White interior in the Campaway, sounds like a great idea until you live in it. I have white countertop (came with the van, not by choice) and it's a nightmare to keep clean. I just thank god someone invented Magic Eraser. If I were building my own like you guys are, I would stay away from anything white.
Loved your round up of the camper vans in hall 5 off road is my thing [man, crafter and merc] but i was due to come to the show on wednesday but tested positive for covid on wednesday o well thats life have to for october now
I don’t need a four wheel drive vehicle and the maintenance associated with it. As a solo camper who stays in national parks I tend to be less adventuresome than ta Hat When your family grows a bit the Dometic tent thing won’t feel so huge
Unlike the USA there are very few areas where you can drive a campervan and stay overnight off-road in the UK. Indeed, I certainly wouldn't encourage the public to take campervans off-road anywhere in the UK. We get enough hassle sticking to the roads. So, I don't really see the point of this off-road version.
Its purely a box ticking middle class latest must have fashion item which screams "look at me". The sad thing is the ones Ive seen in the highlands have been determined to use their "off road capabilities" and chew up grass areas next to lay bys and rip across machair. The fine line of tolerance and acceptability between vanners and owners of land is really being stretched by folks who put more thought into their "vanlife instagram" rather than the enviroment they are borrowing from villagers and locals.
£68,140 for a poptop VW without a bathroom at 2:06 ? Madness!! A quality Ducato is less than that!!! I liked the Wildax interior, but the Crafter/sprinter is not a good choice as a base van.
