Necromancer - EZ Skull Rotation | 123k DPS | Mag or Stam

- - - FLAME SKULL - - -
This got a nice little buff in U38. The third hit now deals 50% extra damage, instead of 20%. Not huge, but meaningful. That third hit now gets close to 70k (Blastbones does about 90k) and Venom Skull is now my stamcro’s second highest source of damage, despite me not casting it that often.
A full DOT rotation is still a bit stronger on the dummy, but thanks to this change we can use a MUCH EASIER and more bursty rotation without losing much DPS. The cleave damage is still insane on this class.
- - - PREBUFF & ROTATION- - -
Precast Archer, Blastbones, Trap and Shooting Star. Then:
Blastbones, Stampede, Caltrops
Blastbones, 2 x abilities (Carve every other rotation)
Blastbones, 2 x abilities
Blastbones, 2 x abilities
Blastbones, 2 x abilities
We have 4 x DOTs which can be as static or dynamic as you want. Once Carve reaches 3 stacks, recast it statically every other rotation (if your weaving is not fast enough, just recast it on cooldown).
The 2 rotations are identical. The only differences are a few random DOT recasts, and crappy server performance when I did the Magicka one, so I had to slow down.

3 Grave Lord abilities on our front bar gives us a nice damage bump at 25%. In the last 20 seconds or so, try to refresh your long DOTs, and use Dawnbreaker if Shooting Star isn’t going to be ready. In the final few seconds, drop Blastbones and just spam Skull (I stopped a bit TOO early on the stamcro, but it’s not a huge deal).

Hello, excellent video. Did you get the 123K parse casting Boneyard and Siphon every 15 seconds. as shown in the mini guides?

Thanks for the nice comment! No, I stuck to the written advice in the mini guides, and recast those 2 DOTs on cooldown. But the DPS difference is surprisingly small - just a few k. Actually, because the durations are all multiples of 5, the rotation ends up being very predictable with a bit of practice. The main issue is if your target moves around a lot or you have to go ranged. That’s a pain!

The Magicka character is High Elf. Stamina is Dark Elf. Those are the strongest, but the race doesn’t make that much difference.

NICE thank you! I´ll try but cant weave good, and on console i havent got any measurement adds. but practise will bring dps ;) as always. I must say that i struggle with the 2H, i do dps test with staff/staff or dagger/staff, like i play in raids.

Yeah, this rotation is a nice balance between the two. It's cool that Necro excels at DOTs, but it's good to have more options. We'll see how things shape up in U39.

I wonder how much you could do with the rotation i created Dw+master bow Avid bonyard > skeletal arch > barswap blastbones barswap > poison injection > degeneration > shooting star Barswap Blastbones > venom skull > deadly cloak > blastbones > barbed trap > detonating siphon > barswap avid barswap > blastbones > venom > venom > blast etc Its a static rotation , seems good for beginners Front bar has flawless dawn ulti for the 3% dmg Backbar has necrotic for free ulti charge. If i were to use vma two handed... backbar would probably be harder... maybe... Avid > carve/degeneration > skeletal > stampede If vma staff... idk i dont use staffs

Haha yeah sure, the fast weaving does take practice! But the rotation itself is pretty nice and chill compared to the usual Necro chaos.

Most players (and the game itself) consider the Archer, Mender and the constant barrage of Blastbones to be pets. If you’re talking about a permanent pet, then that wouldn’t fit at all within the corpse minigame. Keep that in mind.

@@NinjaPullsTrue, when I think of necromancers I think of hordes of skeletons and zombies. In which case the Reanimate Blastbones ability needs to have its cost halved at the very least to properly capture

Definitely Inferno. It’s depressingly weak compared to Daggers, but I suppose if you ditch the skull and try to go for a full DOT rotation it gets better. Just a more complex rotation.

What would you substitute where for using maelstrom staff bb? I understand 2h is better for dummy but ,for content, i tend to lean into staves. Any suggestions on what would be good to place where? Many thanks in advance! Great parse!

Hey! Thanks for the awesome feedback! This is not a dummy parse setup only. I mostly just use the dummy to showcase the rotation easily. All my setups are designed for content. Easy to replicate and strong! So I’d suggest giving it a go. If you want to use a staff, obvs go for it, but the sustain isn’t as good. Anyway - updated necro guide for this patch is coming soon 🤩

On stam necro i noticed avid + blast are sustainable you can add vma staff for the skill but your sustain might suffer

@@maelxmusic1613 new mini-guides get released every patch, usually a day or two after release. Current necro rotations are on the website and @ bit.ly/46FhYNA and bit.ly/3QW8yYh. Nothing really changed though except Aegis > Nirn.

Wouldn't Cloak do more damage than caltrops? Not to mention the longer duration which mean less casts and more casts of spammables.

Hey there! Sure, if you want Cloak, run it on the front bar instead of Camouflaged Hunter. The back bar is obviously a 2H, and Caltrops is there specifically to pair up with Stampede because it can be a pain to use otherwise. It's also really strong - 5K DPS over a really wide area. Keep in mind that these are not meta setups, but heavily simplified rotations which anyone can replicate. That's what I do on this channel.

I have an old one here, but not with the Master's Staff. Why shooting star ? I wouldve thoight dawn breaker would be better. Dps is simular if not more in favour of dawn breaker isnt it ? Dawn breaker also buffs weapon and spell damage for a time after cast

It's the DOT component from Shooting Star that is particularly strong on Necro - that's why it pulls slightly ahead (at least as far as my testing shows). But you can use either one!

Read the guide linked in the description. Caltrops is a 5k DOT, which is really strong. It also simplifies the rotation enormously, and solves the issue of Stampede's awkward animation that so many players hate dealing with. The point of this video is not maximum DPS - otherwise I wouldn't use a spammable at all - the point is to demonstrate that Necro DPS isn't as crap or as difficult as everyone seems to think. The setup and rotation are just there to help people beat 120k and be able to replicate it in content. If they can do better with a different rotation, that's terrific 👍.

Yeah, provided you have Off-Balance it’s good everywhere. But yes, short bursty fights are more likely to give you higher uptimes on it.

Look again. It deals 4.5k DPS - that’s a higher damage per cast than Boneyard. You may still be thinking of it in its pre-Blackwood form (2 years ago). The Anti-Cavalry morph has been very widely used since then.
