Regular nerd: "Errm, how does the warhammer universe deal with time travel? Time loops? Multiverses? Warhammer 40k nerd: "it's just a fucking mess in every way"
Thanks Gavin. I am hoping that the one I am working on will be worth the wait. But I have to admit, I'm pretty excited about this one. I can only hope I do as well on it as, say, Black Templars or Commissars. Effort does not always equate to quality, as they say, But I can assure you the effort is going in! Bucket loads of it! Thanks for watching/listening. It is very appreciated indeed. :)
Forreal it is! I'd absolutely LOVE for Trayzn the Infinite to have the last living Old One in his collection! Frozen in time of course, he could talk to someone as they pass that exhibit explaining just a wee bit more of what exactly they were, at least from a Necron/Necrontyr viewpoint lol, and before any more questions could be asked he ushers the guest away from the exhibit, imagine how much of a tease/plot point that could be for GW!!!
Thank you! Strangely, I see humanity and Necrontyr as very similar. The Necrontyr just had a mind numbingly rough ride from the outset. But the next video on necrons should show that side. Heh. I can't wait to finish it. Taking some work, I can tell you. :) Thanks for watching/listening as always, Chris. It is very appreciated indeed. :)
@@ambustio9807 thats some serious heresy you are spilling there my dude, better delete that comment before the loayl servants of the god emporer of mankind will purge the living shit out of you
I know. But then, if Space Marines or Eldar or Orks were as good as they should be due to the fluff, well..... The game is utterly separate, alas. But I am hoping one day to get big enough to do a batrep or two without it killing my numbers. When that happens - 'fluff' games - 'novel/movie marines' vs 'Necrons as they should be' Should be a riot. One day. One day......
@@baldermort Honestly I would LOVE to see a fluff game which showed Necrons at their Lore power rather than the toned down "balanced" forms they are on the table.
Id Love to see videos that explains canoptek wraiths, scarabs and spyders as well as triarch stalkers and praetorians. I’ve rarely seen videos that talk about them...and they’re some of the most interesting units. Also... i sense the possibility of a Short Horror Story about guardsmen entering a tomb and witnessing first hand the horror of the canoptek constructs...
I've always had an issue with the Necrons if they are the threat they claim are then gw should show it(and look I know why they don't chaos and imperium sell more models ) but with the split of the imperium maybe they will hope so
Orikan recently featured as the co-protagonist of the novel The Infinite and the Divine, while Creed and Tzeentch weren’t in the story Orikan had a hilarious rivalry with Trazyn the Infinite. I would totally recommend checking it out.
Dear Gentle Listeners - If you play Necrons, or wish to see how they think (to defeat them) - then please do visit the site of the Saruman of our order, the Wargamers unification - IDIC Beer. He is a true gentleman and has mentored me to bring the channel to this level and the hopes of better. So any love you can throw him would be magnificent. A truly kind, generous and inspirational soul. ru-vid.com
Thank you for the gift of your time and presence. Christmas for me every week, sometimes three times a week. I never actually thought I would be any good at this. So I am please as punch that I can make a contribution to the hobby and gather such a fantastic set of battle brothers to hang with. Thanks for watching/listening, as always Popa. I hope your festive plans are in full swing and you have a magnificent time ahead. :)
The more I think about 40k and other fantasy works I discover new things I'm writing in my books and they are intriguing ideas that I never made a realization before as well as other books that made me think about life. I came across this book by Thomas Ligotti who I recommend if you want to read his style of cosmic horror. The title of his philosophy book is called the "conspiracy against the human race" The title of it alone made me think about mythology for some strange reason, but the idea is why do Gods and Demons have this obsession with Human Kind. The more you look into myth you find that Gods and Demons all want the same thing. The absolute control and hunger of Human Souls and I ask why? That is when I decided to write a story where I was inspired by The Dark Tower series and this version of Ragnorak that I accidentally stumbled upon. This version of Ragnorak was believed by Ancient Pagan Saxons before Christianity became widespread. Basically, it states that in the final Armageddon battle. All the Gods and Heroes from all walks of life from past and present stand united against the Demons and Giants and Monsters. So that got me thinking about my version of that Saxon story which is kind of the opposite. Instead of fighting against all the Demons and monsters it's Fighting against all the Gods and Demons from every reality in their final stance to save eternity in that final battle and all the souls of all creatures from the multiverse standing up against all Gods and Demons to obtain their freedoms from the tyrannical forces of both the Light and Dark.
Have you ever noticed that the golden throne look like the top of a necron capital ship the pyramid on top etc... Dolem gates could be reversed engineered into the imperial webway....and could be the reason the vulkan installed the medallion of 9 hammers into the thrown to detonate it and destroy terra and cripple the ruinous powers.
i love your script and voice man, i see it like a frickin' fallout 1 / fallout 2 at it's peak, with majestic choice of words that make u smile and desire to hear more cheers
AHA! Job DONE! But seriously, I love most factions, but the Necrons have some amazingly unique functions that really make them feel alien and distinct from the other armies. If you want to see how they play and move on a board then check out a Batrep from my mentor- IDIC Beer. Its a great site and he's a fantaastic guy and knows how Necrons well. Give him a look up if you are in any doubt. But they paint easily and well and move nicely. Some of those figures are just gorgeous. :) Thanks for watching Nil.
I have a sudden urge to szeras, its inspired by the new model reveal. That being said, that inspiration has just been reinforced by your videos necrons.
Wonderful! I loved this video especially much. The necron are some of the most fascinating lore in all of 40k. The newest books for example, have been AMAZING! Unbelievable fiction and outrageous fantastic sci-fi. It's allways fun to see just how powerful they actually are and that their only weakness seems to be their own infighting and the sloth that comes with true immortality. ALLWAYS a fun story that has Necron in it.
Thanks for this, really handy as it's not clear what the title Cryptek denoted crashing into the current meta books as the Necrons weren't around in the Heresy novels...
@@baldermort It's in the phrasing. When you talk about him after the bio-transference, those three or so words have this hint, this taste about them that to me sounded like when Hamlet asked himself 'To Be or Not to Be'. A less known part of that soliloque is: "To die, to sleep; No more; and by a sleep, to say we end The heart-ache, and the thousand natural shocks That Flesh is heir to?" Let us remember that at the center of the Necrontyr reasoning for accepting the bio-transference was whether it was best to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against their troubles and ending them, so I was wondering if you were furthering the reference.
Interesting question. I am not sure. They could definitely do something for him, but it would mean removing him from the golden throne. If that happens then the warp gate on terra opens and its goodbye to the birthplace of humanity. I will mull that over. Brilliant thought, brother. :)
@@baldermort But they have tech that could suppress the expansion of warp gates, right? Couldn't they set up a pylon on terra like they did with Cadia, and then afterwards use their biometric tech to restore the emperor to a new body? If the rumors of an even greater Tyranid horde are true then Necron's might feel they have no choice but to force or try to trick humanity into restoring the Emperor in order to save the galaxy. It's an unlikely paradigm but just a thought.
OK, I have absolute mahogany for this idea. It would take some doing, but the Necrons are nothing if not patient and grinding. They could indeed put up pylons and negate the warp gate. Ok,. the astronomicon might suffer, but if Szarekh decided to save the master of mankind - you have shown clearly that it is possible. My gods! BT, you are a genius. Fly this theory past Remliez (twitter)- 40K theories (on youtube). If anyone would know or see the holes, he would. I cannot see one! Damn - that is gold! :)
The Imperium has suffered without the astronomicon before but this time there wouldn't be the insane warp storms. Plus given the Necron's chronomancy they could do what they needed to in the blink of an eye. It would be a matter of politics to get the job done!
Its interesting how you mention the Necrons temporal capabilities in regard to the the 40K universe being awash with such anomalies, all fuck I hate this keyboard dammit! having to do with the relationship to the Warp, which of course bthe arrgh the Necrons somehow negate with the use of blackstone.......ahhhh time manipulation, specifically backwards, other than FTL the bane of sci-fi, which generally 40K has elegantly avoided! As any other student of theoretical physics that is enmeshed with us in this universe would agree, even more enthralling bthings could possibly result from this as always thank you, Baldermort
Hey man, loved the video! I was trying to catch the dynasty that you said was mostly cryptics, but obviously I can't spell it to search it lmao would you be able to spell it for me or post a link about it? Thanks have a great day
Thanks Jack. Lets hope I deploy it well and get some great entertainment out for us all. The content deserves nothing less. Love warhammer. :) Thanks for listening/watching. It is appreciated.
Nice one. Which army? Sigh. Every time I read that I feel guilty. MY hordes of grey look at me angrily on a daily basis. :) But vids first. Painting second. :)
@@baldermort painting my models is the reward for completing vids. I am painting the latest deathguard model from the conquest magazine. At the same time saving a member of the black legion that fell into the littleones hands 😆
LOL. :) Nice one. My friend, Lex 'the hairy one' plays DG and they are just sweet models. Really impressed with the new raft since they redesigned them. Just so damn complicated and full of detail. Also, they can be utterly bad-ass in narrative games. Sooo tough to move when the dice are running even average instead of hot. I hope you are preparing to bring the love of the Grandfather to all. :) Heh. Good luck saving the legion lad. Luckily my kids are no longer kids and my cats never ever play with my toys. Its odd really. The two furries don't even touch them when I parade the buggers all over the table and then leave them out. I am blessed. :)
I cannot believe I am just now discovering this channel, much less one of the few cryptek lore videos. You, sir, have a magnificent voice, ideally suited to presenting the Lore of Warhammer 40K. I am also happy to see not one but two of the pic pics i had commissioned of my OC Cryptek, Cirrikan the Technomancer. The highly detailed pic of a four armed cryptek with the Canoptek spyder in the background was one of my comissions of the fabulous artist L J Koh,: www.artstation.com/artwork/A9l9YV The next pic that I comissioned was the one where the cryptek has an Ultramarine before him, that one was done by t-cezar, www.deviantart.com/t-cezar/art/Cryptek-Cirrikan-the-Technomancer-743214811
Thank you so much. I’ve been trying to save up for art. It’s slow going. I know of Mr Koh. Not the other. I’ll check him out and put him on my ‘if I ever work hard enough I’ll get them to do some art’.
Baldermort's Guide to Warhammer Thanks for responding! I love your videos by the way. You have an amazing grasp of the lore and an even greater ability to present. Both your voice and story telling styles are top tier.
