I don't like this leagues graveyard crafting. I am better off just doing it myself on the normal crafting table. I have far better chances of getting what I want or close to it doing it on the table. I have spent so much time in graves, only to get completely unusable garbage gear.
I can obviously see why it CAN be an enormous troll, but with a little care you can get *INSANE* items...i spent maybe 2-3 div on filled coffins, and got a bone ring with five T1 modifiers which were Flat phys...then T1 Minion damage, minion speed, minion life, minion cast and attack speed. Took me ten minutes.
One thing you didn't see was that your item level dropped down to 83 on the craft, so you missed out on at least a t1 Fire Damage. All the calcs and weightings will change if if target different tiers (obviously) so it makes some sense to target a tier down for some modifiers, especially on weapons like Scepters where you've got a mix of stats. Bow users certainly have it nice.
I find it quite nice during campaign, easy rare items with correct base, 4-5 links and chance of being imediate upgrade. I can see how undewhelming it is for endgame crafts though.
As a new player who been playing 4 weeks, Affliction felt fun, this one seems all the mobs are extremely fking strong an corpse is trash... Does anyone else find the mobs too buffed?
Nah, affliction was way way worse for enemies being tanky Every enemy got damage reduction from wisps in affliction. Their just normal enemies this league (with the exception of when you do the corpse thing). Such a great league this time!
Great video, but I have a slight piece of criticism: Being a german content creator ( that also enjoys SSF > Trade and is therefore slower in progression ), I know that I'm not too well known by the international community despite my achievements (that largely go unrecognized bc of those two factors). However, a small mention of the layout creator or at least a link would have gone a long way (especially bc I explain in the post, that this is only about 96% optimized) instead of just mentioning that there is a post from "someone" ( just basic journalistic standards of mentioning who you are citing ) as I've put quite a bunch of testing and research into this, which is especially hard if you cannot just buy the corpses. I'm not writing this out of anger ofc, I love sharing and hate gatekeeping more than anything, so I'm glad if ppl use my stuff, share it and/or explain with it. It's just about the standards of citation for the sources ppl use that makes me a bit sad ( especially bc there is a history of ppl just stealing my stuff in the past ). I hope you can understand that this is a bit frustrating as a creator yourself (I'm not mad tho or anything, just wanted to point this out for the future)
nope you're totally right! i said in the video that id link the post but i got distracted, ill do that now! thank you for the post, it's still a great optimization, i didnt mean to downplay it. just wanted to emphasize that we're in the early days figuring out the right way to craft now, much like early harvest.
@@subtractem Hey, thank you for the speedy reply and adding the source! I also agree on the imperfect level of optimization & already tested better setups to get some more value out of each tile. There are different setups for trade to craft like 4 items at once, tho at less efficiency for the cost, etc. So I believe there'll be more layouts soon, depending on what you want to craft and not just general purpose stuff like mine Cheers and keep up the great content! 🤗
I am so sorry, for that frustrating experience. I played around with that tool on craft of exile A LOT lately, since I'm not able to play these days. The main finding was: the 1 in 2 chance suggests a 50:50 but if you have a probability of around 99% it still shows a 1 in 2 chance since it is not a 100%. It does so as long as the chance of hitting the specific rolls is above 50%. Meaning more corpses DO impact the probability significantly. My planned bow Craft uses 84 corpses and has around 97% chance to hit T1 cold, fire and lightning. I could get away with way less corpses (42) but the chance to hit T1 elemental damage as a prefix rises drastically. So if you brick an item it actually is worth it to invest additional corpses since I would take a 97% chance over 2 or 3 50% chance any day. Love your content, keep up the great work!
Crafting in PoE is a convoluted mess using multiple systems and trading with people and this league just added another layer into the sh&t sandwich. I'll just sell my corpses.
And this crafting system is just the opposite, a single system for crafting as far as I can tell? (Maybe add something with the bench after). Sure, this system in and by itself has complexities, but in exchange, it is "standalone" unlike most other systems...
@@bjorn9875 Yeah, I do very minimal crafting most leagues. This mechanic is actually the most accessible crafting in PoE ever. Unfortunately there is a lot you can't craft so it is build restricted, but there are enough build types that will be really good with this league mechanic
Now it is buffed, I really like it in SSF, it gives me that FOMO feeling like I want to keep grinding and building my graveyard that keeps me logging in
And yet you'll be the same person crying on reddit when they remove it like Harvest, Crusible and recombinators. Wait a week till people start selling mirror tier gear for 5d. Figuring this stuff out is the fun part of the league.
@@davidmaltais2912 Not for everybody maybe, but that's the great thing about this game. You can always blast maps or magic find, or whatever if that's your jam.
It's like exponentially combining the bad parts of Harvest INTO the crafting of Harvest, whilst also having the bad parts of Bestiary/Metamorph (lack of QoL/annoyance.)
Imagine going through this without being a streamer. Having to trade yourself and wisper 10 people just to get a single corpse as all the others wont answer.
Like someone in that reddit post mentioned, Craft of excel. I don't 100% disagree with GGG but the time needed to craft something is not worth it, maybe for someone who has time.
The intent is literally go to the graveyard. You want mana and lightning scepter? Caster mana lightning spam and craft. The problem and headache comes from people min maxing and using websites. Puts more heartache and time invested vs just go
you dont have to do mirror crafts. just hop on craftofexile select the item you want and you get a nice and short shopping list. honestly this crafting method is just rog on crack
You should use the view corpse layout button on Craft of Exile. It calculates the odds of success for each additional corpse and also helps you figure out which ones increase your odds of success best. For example, 88 corpses may result in an 78% chance to hit, but the last 30 corpses only increase the odds 1.5% (just an example).
Man, I really want influence corpses to exist. Double fractured gem elder helms for fire trap to slam a essence of horror into would've made me giddy like a schoolgirl
For people that don’t want to follow crazy guides. The node that randomizes the corpses and has high chance for high tier mods is a solid way to make decent gear passively few maps, plant for a bit and then craft I’ve made a few 1-3 divine pieces of gear
The worst part of graveyard crafting for me was FINDING the conflicts. It would be great if they'd highlight the conflicting graves to cut down on searching the massive graveyard. It better yet add a pop up screen that shows you all the graves like that min/max reddit image and let us add/remove bodies from that instead
The graveyard is so clunky. Thats what GGG does, makes things clunky. It must be an employment criteria for them. You cant work here unless you do clunky.
@@miramichi30 agreed. Considering how much of what they make each qtr is abandoned it amazes me they are still in business. Making a product that the market consistently doesn’t like is a receipt for success.
The sad thing is that there has been a big hype lately from D4 players around PoE with fair few D4 streamer giving PoE a try. Having such a complex league now is probably not the best, it will just emphasis even more the fact that PoE is a very hard game to get into. I think that is a real missed opportunity from GGG
I'm afraid you're likely right...that said, a fair number of people DID experience the insanity of affliction and are hooked. Still, even those people now understand that not EVERY league is that same level of lootpalooza.
Previous league was the perfect spot to try PoE, if you missed it then that's on you. Nobody is forcing you to interact with crafting portion of this league, the amount of changes to the end game is bigger than all leagues in D4 so far. So if anyone playing D4 is complaining then go back to playing your ARPG with laughable amount of content, items, builds, skills and actually everything. You do you
just curious. You didn't get +2 explicit modifiers. Was that on purpose so u can continue crafting without a lucky annulment? Because i think that might have lowered your chances of hitting +1 to all gems.
like, the state of the patch put aside, do we need something like this in the game? wouldn't the game be way better of with more straight forward crafting mechanics like essence > meta craft > veiled chaos. i just do not understand what they're going for with adding these super bloated and complicated mechanics. am i the odd one out here, do people want this type of shit? i'm a somewhat casual ssf player. i look at this and the only thing that comes to mind is, that i will ignore this entire shitshow of a mechanic and stick to the straightforward crafting methods (even though the keep getting nerfed and ssf players are being left entirely in the dust)
No need for it, but I enjoy it personally as an SSF player. It's a natural, little-cost, half deterministic way to craft items, which happens to be, I find, one of the simplest ways to craft once you get take a little time to understand how things work. You get really high rolls if you don't fuck around.
Also you can make a 1 in 11 to get +1 all and +1 fire with only 24 corpses: 10 +tier, 2 +Explicit (granted, you'll have to roll the dice on anul to keep crafting), 12 +gem. You can match that 1/14 craft with 21 corpses by dropping to 9 +gem
i dont do high end crafting in poe, i craft shit with essence/fractured mod and maybe do shit like prefix/suffix cannot be changed and veiled chaos or harvest "has chaos mod" or some shit but thats it. but highend crafting is waaaaaay too complicated already, idk why they did this league like that. i like the idea, the basic lvl crafting, its fun to craft your own items. but this league mechanic ?? its basicly all there is wrong with crafting, make it accessable by new/mid players that just wanna craft a decent gear piece. i mean 3-5hours and 10-20div to craft one item thats than even bad ?? imagine your not an poe expert you wont craft any usefull shit and you surley wont have any fun wit it.
Yep, I did it once. My result was the same. Now I just dump the corpses into a 10c tab and make about 30 40 c from each map completely ignoring the mechanic.
I think you're not actually getting the 1/45 chance that you describe in the video when you click T4 fire at around 6:00. The +tier corpses means that those lower tier fires can't roll, so the fact that the predicted chance still changes on CraftOfExile is a bug (or at least, it's you putting the calculator into an invalid state by clicking on a crossed out tier of the modifier).
@subtractem my friend went for a tri ele bow, full corpses and insane weighting bias. His chances of getting phys was 0.37%. He got phys😂 2days of farming just to get astronomicaly cucked 💀
like 90% of builds need to have suppression on their gear and that has to tags. Kind of makes it pointless to sue for my build lol. Also how do you get the special mods on items? Would love a +1 frenzy gloves.
old player returning to this game in affliction, and now necro. the item you crafted looked better than anything ive had drop. it took way too much work to craft and not get what you expected, but it was still a good item IMO. i dont quite understand the mechanic though, but it would seem to me that rolling 4 items with less corpse might result in more chances for it to roll well?
in order to get the lightning coil online i had to swap alot of gear to fix resist which hurt my damage a but and took almost 1k from my life/es. i was testing how it felt and expected to go back to old gear untill i could properly gear for LC but im actually still more tanky lol.
I don't think +2 wands/scepters is the type of item you want to craft with this league mechanic. You could have definitely got a fractured scepter for 12d and crafted it that way. There are plenty of items that can be insane with it,but like other crafting mechanics lots of experimentation will happen before people start pumping out insane gear
GGG will never learn will they. Survey 1,000 players. NOT STREAMERS or elite players that play 12hrs a day for the first 2 weeks of every league. Ask us about crafting. Our answer will not be. “Please make it more complicated” trust me. GGG treats streamers well but they should tune every aspect of the game for them.
Anyone know why oscillating sceptre doesn't show up in the bases even when you have the experimental corpse in the grave? The other 2 experimental sceptre bases show up but not oscillating.
I actually hit a frostbolt frost nova archmage wand that I wanted. Only bad thing about it was it rolled 29% lightning damage and tier 2 mana. Not really sure that was worth like 4-6 days of corpses though lmao. The second copy ended up having the T1 spell damage but has fire rolls for some god forsaken reason. Do not for the love of god fill the entire graveyard. If even 1 thing goes wrong - you can't just fix it. I have been doing that since league start. I specced into the atlas stuff a day ago so I only bought a single 20% chance to copy for the remaining % I needed for 100. Farmed the rest.
I should probably add - when I specced into the tree the and they updated the drops - the farming was A LOT faster. It would not take anywhere near as long now that I know what I'm doing and how to actually farm them in massive quantities.
This highlight the primitive and stupid trading system i PoE. A trading house is 100 times better for 95% of people playing in a trade league. At the very least anything stackable should be sold and bought instantly einer like i a regular trading house, or something like done in Last Epoch. Since so many people use trade bots anyway, why not give a simple version to players as part of the game? (At least for selling, and still working while the player is offline.
ok i wanted to say that u fucked up the craft recipe but before that just in case i checked craft of exile in case i was wrong , but nah i was right u just needed to add +2 explicit and from 83% chance u would rise it to 98% , well thats not mentioning that u wasted so much gem bodies for no reason at the amaunt u used its like 1 of them incresing chances by 0.03%
sigh , classic GGG/PoE monkeys paw curse , Affliction was an amazing league , so obvs Necropolis was going to be trash XD , sad , but such is the cycle XD
No, just like he showed on the video. He could build one juice armor for mages/ES users with 88 corpses and have a 50/50 chance on 75% conf or a 33 corpse forge with the same 50/50 - 75 conf Going bigger isn't better on this one, for now
@@Br-Shaft I saw which is why I edited my comment i should have just deleted it honestly. I hate when people comment before the video is over then I turn around and did it. Feels bad.
I quit this league I been playing the same builds for seasons and this league has tore me up. Horrible rng. Rippy killer mobs and trash mechanic. The worst experience I’ve ever had in this game. Just feels off
If there was no craftofexile, nobody in earth would know the effectiveness of the dead body parts. That's what I'm disturbed with on this league. League mechanic itself is forcing you to outsource your information. Poor decision by GGG.
I hate everything about the league mechanic. If they were going to make a crafting mech, make it more like Rog than just a blind create. Waste of time as it is.
i started yesterday because of new patch notes, but it looks like they couldnt fix it. 5 hours for a "trash" scepter is hard. Maybe i wasting my time to play this League. I was hopefully to can craft some nice Stuff. But i dont would invest 5h for a 5c-10c craft outcome. However, you doing great Content man. I enjoy every Video from you. Keep the Good work up. ♥
@@seregaparpucserega-indugo2566 70% to get an item means 30% not to get it. For it to fail for all 3 item that’s 30%^3 =0.027. So you chance to at least success once is 1-0.027=97.3
@@seregaparpucserega-indugo2566 Can't explain the logic, but the way to calculate is by using the complement. Chance of not getting the result you want in a single roll is 30% (.3), and since we have 3 independent tries it's .3*.3*.3 for a 2.7% chance of a bad result on all three, or 97.3 chance of the desired result happening at least once.
It's very easy to act smart when you make up your own BS numbers. Most of these endgame crafts are 50% at best. What you want to do is mirror the item in the graveyard. Yes, you may need to do it multiple times, but when you get it, you also get an extra copy, two or three.
When you're doing high value 40+ divine crafts, then you absolutely want to be using the optimized layout. Not the crappy one craft of exile spits out for you. You use the craft of exile one as a guide for the types of modifiers that most efficiently increase your chance to get the mods you want, then you carry those weightings over to the optimized layout. You gotta use a little bit of brain power but it's worth the effort. I went from failing crafts that had 90%+ chance of succeeding using a full layout (god that was painful), to creating 3 or more "duped" crafts all at once all worth at least 15 divines each. I know this league is tedious as all hell but we don't have to pretend there isn't an optimal way of playing it. For any craft that you can get in less than 30 corpses, you'd be better off buying it from trade. Unless of course you're playing SSF. Now get out there and craft some broken items everyone. The item printer awaits. (well it waits behind a wall of 40 - 88 trades) 😮💨
I already gave up on the league. Everything sucks. Scarabs suck, mechanic crafting SUCKS, and maps are harder than theyve ever been for fucking no reward. Im usually on the side of GGG but whoever decided this was a good idea needs to lose their fucking job.
I think this is officially my least favorite league, tied with sentinel and Kalandra. I really wanted to enjoy the base changes at a minimum but I think psychologically i just can't with all the broken lottery/fomo loot pinata crap thats happening. I wish I could just disconnect and enjoy the game but half my fun is playing along with the community and it just feels terrible. The grave crafting might be the single least fun system (for me) that I think they have added to the game since I started in 2013. I actually enjoyed the harvest plot setup and crafting too. This is just too much nonsense.
I want a league where the gear that actually drops in world is good. Like, instead they have us another shitty crafting system that I don't want to engage with.
Lack of bulk trading is a huge L, especially considering the changes they made to bulk trading this league. I would love a "top down" map of the graveyard to put corpses in; its so clunky currently, especially with the pop-ups over filled graves.
I'm going to try a single craft thing league. Even if you can make perfect items with a decent chance, it's way too annoying. If there was just a pop up grid where you could drop in all the corpse through a UI screen, it would be a bit less tedious. At least normal crafting tedium is generally way less time consuming. I would need a guaranteed mirror tier item each craft to make this worth it to me.
Ive been trying to ssf find corpses but they seem so heavily weighted and keep getting the same base types. Mightbe map tileset tags, idk yet. Getting tough to gether everything
