A Field Agent would be a sweet job with a lot of action, but from what I hear military experience helps tremendously. Ex-Marine Counter-Intelligence MOS perhaps with a degree in psychology or computer science. I would love the Analyst job too.

Remember that when you take the polygraph to say as little as possible. There are certain disqualifiers that are pretty much automatic. Any current or previous addictions, questionable sexual activity ( like prostitution), serious financial problems, criminal activity such as theft or vandalism. Things you might not think are a big deal may be a big deal to them so if they ask you and you react, you are better off denying than confessing. This is not a therapy session where you get things off your chest. Keep your mouth shut and insist that you don't believe that you reacted. If you spike to a question they have no way of knowing if you are being deceitful or if you are just uncomfortable with the subject. Once you confess to something however, it is written in stone. Stay cool and just keep denying.

You should watch some episodes of the TV series called "Mission Impossible" from the 1960s and 1970s. Some of the jobs and missions require the use of trained mechanics. One episode especially comes to mind in which a remote controlled car was assembled and used. In another episode, a mechanic was used to reset a voting booth so that the election results could not be rigged. Check out their website for current openings.
I dont get it! Why is the CIA running behind those who dont wanna work for the CIA instead of recruiting the ones who desire to work for. For instance myself. I speak Russian, Tajik and Uzbek. What's wrong with that?
cia.gov and look around the site. An important thing is not to tell anyone you are even applying because this will hold you back when getting a secret clearance ( needed to work them) and could cost you the job altogether.

Don't do criminology. That's more fbi. CIA wants people who can analyze and understand history and people who have interest in foreign affairs and politics with culture experience. And great writing skills
there's still a problem, they only want to recruit US Citizen foreign speakers.if you want to create a diverse force that can blind in, you should recruit spies from those foreign nation who not only speaks the language but also knows that ins and outs of the culture
yes, that's currently my degree and I'm hearing that is the degree they are looking for. Though I got my information from my military workforce counselor I would give it a shot. Good Luck.
not many people would turn this job down at all. This can't be right - they are trying to make it seem like they are struggling to find employees. Why would they lie about that? Can't be the truth of course. That's common sense. Like most companies that are "hiring" with really good pay/benefits, they must just not be getting the people they really want. That's very different than this general idea of "they are hiring"...
The CIA hires people from all walks of life. They HAVE TO. They need everything from tradesmen, mechanics, lawyers, doctors,...you name it. YOUR talents may be just what they need at any given moment. Good luck. And, don't give up on something you really want to do.

If they won't HIRE you, they may let you intern there. You might even be able to get course credits for interning in a class on career guidance or similar coursework. I'm NOT joking. Go for it!
