Need for Speed Carbon PS2 vs PS3 Graphics Comparison 

Carbon on PS3 is actually the best version of the game. Not X360, not PC. PS3 build has the best lighting, best textures, motion blur for the asphalt, higher quality reflections, more reflections at all times AND the game actually tracks in reflections what's behind and to the side of the car in real time, a la modern Forza games. It's the only version that does this.

I remembered it looking on ps2 like it does on the ps3.

The night setting sure saves PS2 on the visuals. Aside the reflections, PS2 looks better on certain moments.

In PS2 there are delays in reflections, i remember noticing that even back then

the difference between the two Just only ps3 version had smooth lighting effects and smooth reflection effect and more cutscenes I don't know if it rendering in real time or pre rendred ,texture upscaled and deeper and that's the reason why this version is the biggest in size between all version Full respect to PS2

I know most people’s favorite is “Most Wanted” (unironically) but Carbon will forever be my favorite (even if I had all the NFS’s of the PS2 era and they where all great). Nothing comes close to the mood this game had, the car list was amazing and the customization was way better than most wanted. I loved the presentation and the dark underground nightclub music, the canyon challenges, etc. It kills me to know we didn’t get the Pagani Zonda on the main game though ;_; that car is my all time favorite.

It is CRAZY to me that they went through all the effort of doing the performance capture for the actors and then couldn’t them AT ALL in the ps2 version.

I am SO confused about the street lights on the PS2 version. In this video, as well as some other videos, and my emulator, the street lights have this weird effect where it looks like it's trying to make a light trail, but it's just moving a copy of the little circle orb light around, so you get these floating orbs anywhere there's a street light. Like, each street light ends up with two lights, one of which just kinda floats around. But I've seen some videos of the PS2 version...not having that issue. I can't tell if it's normal or not.

ps3 is better : has better light and graphics, better cars models with high poly models and more realistic, hd texture, view distance is better, the rear view the car is faster
