It's amazing how in like 1 year they made this amazing, detailed and polished game back in the day with 2006 and 2007 limitations, and now they take 4 years to deliver a mediocre at best game... If they make Prostreet 2 it will be amazing only if they learn how to make grip games a not brake to drift

For what they were up against, the wii and the ps2 looked pretty clean, and the ds version turned out to be the best sim racing on the system.

for those that owned the NDS version they will agree with me when i say this game was the best NFS game for that console and maybe best portable need for speed game at that time and also one of the best racing games for the DS (yes, better than carbon)

Thank god, just made a comment questioning that before seeing this. I had it for wii and carbon for GameCube and wanted to upgrade to the PS versions. I only wish most wanted 2005 was for ps3 as well

There's no reflections, the framerate is super choppy, and the sound quality is hampered. Definitely emulator instead of real hardware. Plus this is the version I own so I know it doesn't actually look like this.

When I played the PS2 version it was very weird to see that it looked worse than its previous installment (NFS Carbon), the "cartoonish" graphics made it feel inferior, even being all one of the NFS that I played and completed. 100%

I played the PS2 version on release, then a year later got an Xbox 360 that come with this game, the graphics & damage improvements were unreal. Fastforward to recently when I tried the PC version, the graphics were definitely better but something felt missing... Just bought a Mint condition PS3 today as my other's have laser problem's. Bought a PS3 copy off eBay a while back, loaded it up today and I've been blown away. Not only is it like reliving the past, but the sense of speed and graphics are great on the PS3 version. Definitely my favourite version by far. I also had 3D forced on with the glasses, on my LG 2012 TV. Great comparison video.

Similar story here, I played it on PS2 as a kid and have had fond memories of it since, just bought a PS3 copy a couple of days ago and I’ve loved how smooth the game has run as well as the improved graphics and damage models

Skipped this on the PS2 as a kid, ended up picking it up on the ps3 recently and I'm having tons of fun with it. Sure it has it's 2007 flaws but I believe that's part of the charm.

Get a decent pc and experience the speed challenges on 60fps with mods like the speed limiter removal. If you were already scared about nevada and ebisu, you'll get another kind of anxiety after racing that Skyline till 480kph in those tight corners, facing near death in every possible second

The PS2 version without problems could have put the 55 PC / PS3 / Xbox cars. And the Booster Pack could be released on a double layer DVD.

The Wii version looks like a more cleaned up PS2 version. The PS3 version straight up looks like the PS2 version upscaled in HD, with an awful framerate and graphical effects (like reflections), completely missing. 360 version looks and runs actually solid.

I had the PS3 version, but I don't remember it running or sounding so badly. I think your PS3 recordings are pretty bad when it comes to representing that version, unless it's running on an emulator. Still pretty bad if you are using actual hardware to record the other versions.

I've finished PS2 and PS3 versions, and played PC version. PS3 and PC look good. But in that video, PS3 version has low FPS, in reality the game looked better.

The PS2 and Wii versions are considered so ugly they have to be used for the mobile versions on the thumbnail. Not really fair, as I did play it on PS2 and it was quite fun nonetheless.

Here the PS3 version doesn't do justice to how it really looks and performs, it's really the same as the X360 version. I guess it's emulated on a not very powerful machine here.

This is the NSF one that never played. I had no console back then, and my pc doesn't have enought power to play it. It was at 10 - 15fps and all minimum. My fiends also had graphic video card similar to mine so nobody here played it. I'm trying a ps2 emulator now, and I'm playing all those days games at 1080p 16:9 in some cases. It's reasier to play this version on ps2 that run the windows game at windows 11 with new video cards.

Tbh, to me, the biggest problem with the inferior (like the Ps2) versions of Nfs ProStreet, is the lacking content. Lots of cars are just missing, but i understand why they did it.

@@code1188 Probably to save up space, and because they probably made the cars for the next generation first, and then ran out of time to make the lower quality ps2 models, or didn't did some of them to make the next generation's game seem more desirable 😎👍
