You really go nice in depth about the different settings but you leave out the most important which is the cost of the settings. As in how much difference is in % and then when we know your setup we can then apply that info to our own case
17:00 there seems to be more than this to the reflection quality. the game becomes a lot more demanding when you switch from high to ultra and that's not just the "higher resolution reflections" effect it seems. when you switch it up to ultra, the dry road's light reflections become different and more true to the world. the whole road shade changes from light to darker (especially in inner city areas, under the metro system etc.). it seems as if ultra reflections bring even more world details into the reflections.
It's probably reflection roughness changes, like in fortnite before lumen was added, high reflections were uniform across every surface, but ultra reflections had more clear reflections on puddles and water, and less clear ones on rougher less reflective materials.
At least in Unbound, the graphics options make an actual difference. In Heat, the only noticeable changes are when you change the vegetation quality and shadows, and weirdly when you use HBAO Ambient Occlusion the game looks slightly better (the shadows around corners of cars and buildings actually work unlike AAO and AAO FULL)
Post processing and effects detail affect the effects when you use the yellow nitrous. With post processing set higher, you notice an explosion wave on screen when boosting, with PP set to low this effect disappears (there may be other differences, this is just what i've noticed)
Amazing content as always. Are you planning to make a best settings one? I personally prefer those as the fps is usually very impactful on what setting I'll choose
Love you bro, appreciate all your efforts here, please do a frame rate test if possible. Also, I'm looking for similar comparisons when the Crew MotorFest, Forza Motorsport & Test Drive Solar Crown launches. Thanks again! 😎🍾🥂
I'm not sure, but I think Reflections Ultra reflect distant buildings in the wet cement (not poodles). anything below Ultra has the skybox reflecting on the road which breaks the connection
should have considered to add performance comparrison would fit your entire video perfectly nd also very useful to consider what to change in terms of visual nd performance cost.
I did, it would have taken an extra week to make the video. I didnt have the time to dedicate to it unfortunately. The game also has no benchmark which would make it impossible to quantify accurate results unfortunately
So I've been tinkering with the graphical settings as well, to find the best overall options for my game, and I've found out what the Post Processing setting does. It reduces the blurriness effect of the TAA. When set on low, the game looks much better and more sharper in motion. I think this setting should have been reversed, as on the other settings (ex. medium, high ultra) it looks horrible. If you're playing at 1440p or 4k without DLSS or FSR, you should definitely change this setting on low, you will be surprised how much better the game will look.
@@AdamSaeed I think the best setting for DOF should be low, or medium. Yes, maybe on higher settings it looks better, but from my testing, it just CHUNKS framerate. So it's not really worth it imo. Mine is set to medium
I will try in the next few days. It's difficult for this game.... there's no benchmark. So getting accurate results between settings changes will be difficult as i need to run the tests in exactly the same spot over and over. I can do the tests easily, but the results will not be very accurate for everyone else when to apply to their systems.. i'll see what i can come up with to benchmark this game.
