Neem Oil for Indoor Plants as a Pest & Disease Prevention & Treatment

The Neem oil works so well and it lasts for ages, I have really noticed a difference with my plants and so happy you love to use it too Michele

The Neem works so well Daz, especially for the Spider mites as it smothers them on contact as well at changing their reproductive systems, yes funnily enough I went to order some Isopropyl alcohol but its out of stock online everywhere, I know that some of the growers at our cactus society use good old fashioned purple coloured Methylated spirits from the Chemist shops and hardware D.I.Y shops and swear by it as they say its even better than the alcohol at knocking them dead haha, they use it neat in a spray bottle and spray it over the tough skinned cacti to kill spider mites and dab it on directly on the more sensitive skinned ones and dab it on directly to kill the Mealies on contact, I have never used Methylated spirits though, but the older guys in the Society swear by it, I can just imagine the smell of it though haha, I would worry the polytunnel would go up like a Bonfire LOL! thanks so much for all of your amazing friendship and support Daz and a good weather forecast for this week for UK and Ireland, stay safe both of you and Hans and I are sending you and Edith tons of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle to England and Singapore for a safe and sunny week ahead XXXX

Hi Are :-D yes the fantastic news is that Neem oil is very safe to use on Euphorbia Obesa and the Myrtilliocactus Booby Cactus :-D as long as you apply it on the plants away from direct sunshine they will be fine, I use Neem oil on my Euphorbia obesa's and Booby cactus with no problems at all, its always best to spray the plants of an evening to be on the safe side, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful new week XXXX

Hi Anna :-D so happy you love the instructions, the good news is I haven't had a problem with it staining the walls but I find the Neem does stain the windows and gives them white wash splashes, its easy to wipe off but a bot of a pain when having to move plants in and out of windows to clean the windows haha, but luckily my walls seem to be ok and they are white painted, but its best to test out the neem mix on small area of the wall to be on the safe side, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful Wednesday today XXXX

Oh no with the insect pest, it could possibly be vine weevils, they are slim black Beetle looking insects that lay their larvae in the soil, they eat leaves, but it could be another insect pest, I wouldn't recommend adding rubbing alcohol to the Neem as it would cause the Neem to separate, its best to use the Neem with the Horticultural soap or use a systemic insecticide spray, the systemic spray will work its way through the plants and when the insects eat the leaves it will poison them, good luck and thanks so much for your wonderful comments and support and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a wonderful weekend XXXX

Hi Johan :-D Thank you so much, In Spring and Summer I use the Neem oil every 2 weeks on all of my cacti and Succulents as a foliar spray, and once a month as a soil drench as a protection against bugs and disease, in the Winter I use it once a month as a spray on my cacti and succulents indoors, but in Winter I don't use it at all on my cacti in the polytunnel due to the cooler temperatures and high humidity we get. It works very well with fungus and black spots too, I have not used it for black spot on Roses but I have used it on our mini Roses for thrips and it works really well I know that it is very safe to use for Roses and black spot though, and gives them protection against it, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle for a safe and sunny Tuesday XXXXX

Hi there, yes I notice this too, I soak my spray bottles in some warm water with a bit of dish soap for a couple of hours and then use a rounded dish brush to clean off the neem and soap mixture, and this really helps to loosen up the oil that has a habit of caking around the inside of the spray bottle and blocking the spray, you may need to soak the bottles and the spray attachment a couple of times with the dish soap to loosen up the solidified neem mix from the spray bottles, I hope this helps, thanks so much for watching and have a wonderful plant powered new week ahead XXXX

Hi Alice, so sorry to hear about your plants, I have not had this happen before with neem as its usually very safe, and not sure what could have caused this, I know that Neem can burn some plants if the soap is not thoroughly mixed with the Neem oil, Fungus flies can be a real nuisance on the soil and flying around the pots, I use the yellow sticky traps that are specially for catching fungus flies and it works well at catching them, yes microwaving the soil works well at killing any insect pests and fungus fly larvae, I use the Neem oil every week for the first month, and then after that I use the Neem every 3 weeks to keep any pests away, Neem works well but it takes longer to get rid of the pests for good, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a fantastic Friday XXXXX

Our garden is a lot of pots and have had problems with vine weevil for a few years. Yesterday I had to report a sedum. I found lots of grubs in the soil. I reported a lot at the end of summer and did use a treatment but I want something that’s more natural. So will order this ASAP!! It will last ages. Sending loads of love to you and Hans xxx
