I kinda find it funny that Larry still cooks in the Doom Patrol show. He’s not as energetic, but he’s cooked chocolate pancakes and a grilled cheese for everyone. So I guess that’s good enough for me
Ikr, this scene feels so off in comparison, since in 1x08 of Doom Patrol he is shown as an introvert, and all that karaoke was in his head. He wants to be himself and open up to people, but simply can't. Here, Negative Man acts the exact opposite way.
@@AnonymOus-dp3jj Could be, but I doubt it. Cyborg's timeline fits well for 2019, considering his flashback from early 2000s. Also, Chief is in the wheelchair again. Now, he is a very different character in Titans, but still. Also, Negative Man's appearance is very different.
@@prakharmishra5187, at the end of that episode though it is shown that he was doing karaoke during the victory party when Danny ported them back to the manor. Dunno if that'll stick, but this attitude is somewhere inside the Doom Patrol show's Negative Man and might come out more easily eventually.
@@prakharmishra5187 Negative Man's appearance is different because it is a different actor, lol. Both Negative Man and Robotman are played by body doubles, and they replaced the body doubles for the Doom Patrol show. ;) Timeline, this takes place from 1995 to 2019 OR, 2020 or later. Jane wasn't in the manor from 1995 to 2019, and Beast Boy isn't in the manor in Doom Patrol S1(so far)/Jane hasn't left again(so far) to take this scene place after DP S1. I think Titans and Doom Patrol just take place right after each other. Because everyone loves to sing while cooking.
Yeah, crisis on infinite earths confirmed there are 2 versions of the Doom Patrol, the Titans earth 9 or something like that version of the doom patrol, and the earth 21 Doom patrol show version of the doom patrol
For people who dont know, it was a reference to one of League of Extraordinary Gentleman member who had the same look (long coat and bandages) LXG is a part of DC comics.
Roman Snow technically a different version of the character hawley griffin who is a rapist Instead of jack griffin being a peeping Tom and thief/ murderer
Yeah the Doom Patrol episode was so fun and enjoyable. If only the rest of the show was this good... instead of the absolute unfettered garbage which infests the rest of the series.
And this one scene hooks you. It's simple in it execution; a man cooking while miming and dancing; we've all done it at some point. And with that Larry has had more character developed and personality shown than some shows give to their characters in a whole series.
@@RoasterProductions It is. "Chief Just learnt to walk again", no gar in Doom Patrol, Danny is back and Doom Manor is located on Doom Manor. DP is set before Titans.
It's so weird watching this after seeing a season of Doom Patrol. I kinda wish they had anticipated and worked on the continuity some more, because they are both great shows.
no, doom patrol is the great one, titans is the shit one, bad CGI trigon? dick not being as optimised as him in comics? donna troy getting killed by being electrocuted? starfire not like in the comic?(people are gonna call me racist, in fact, calling me racist'd be stupidest excuse to still support the shit) they should've started with "Teen Titans" instead of "Titans". plus DP is in Earth 21 while titans in Earth 9
@@thomaswaynejunior3110 Bruuh why dont you idiots get that this is based on the comics and not the tv show? God just shut the fuck up because yall 2003 teen titan fans know nothing but act like you do after watching them cartoons...
No, he can totally eat, the spirit will just keep his body alive regardless, not to mention having to put up with the bandages when it's coming in and going out has got to be a hassle
Titans and Doom Patrol arent in the same time line, but in the same universe. Think the flash or back to the future rules. This explains why theyre different.
@@JokerL1000 also think of the whole de creator, reacreator and mr nobody time shananagins we actualy destroyed everything thing. their time line in just eight episodes I think has been destroyed 3 times now (partialy) and once was from a donkey.
I mean I think it’s kinda hinted at that Larry does cooking because if you remember when Mr. Nobody was putting them through a loop of continuous death, Larry did walk out holding a big stack of pancakes offering breakfast(before the mission started that lead to the continuous dying).
@@alainarchambault2331 Well she is Raven since her real name in the comics is Rachel Roth ,but I don't know if you're talking about the animated show or the comics
@@paulomoacir9994 Just seems to me that they've already "borrowed" Cyborg, that they've gone and tapped Raven as well. Mind, I haven't read the comic for decades now, and all other reference I have is from those cartoons, so I'm not really cognisant of what has been going on of late. And this series, I've only just seen the first three episodes in their entirety. So now I'm wondering if they're going to end up having Starfire and Robin popping in too.
SPOILER: In the latter episodes where Mr. Nobody traps Niles into a “perfect” fantasy about the Doom Patrol we see Larry cooking breakfast, and in season 2 he cooks for them while they’re tiny (and even rolls tiny joints for Jane). There are most likely more instances but those are the most memorable.
I have done this before and still do. A 27 year old cooking breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner for my family while listening to Ozzy, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, ect
Idk why but when I first read that I thought it meant that Gordon died and Larry & The Negative spirit took over his cooking shows, but then I realized you probably weren’t implying the negative spirt being the one to loose it at contestants like Gordon does
Cooking Time With Larry AKA a superhero name Negative Man Negative Man: First thing to do is. Turn on your radio to listen and sing. Number two, get a spoon a use it as a mic.
Is it me or is this another actor cause he looks different from doom patrol! The bandage and the glasses are completely different and he is more muscular!
Larry's entire persona changed. In Titans, he has a browner, messier bandage going aroung his head and sunglasses without the temples. Has a "jumpsuit" and a tie (shown later in the episode). Is also very much happy, not duressed from anything emotionally. But in Doom Patrol, his bandages are whiter and more uniform. Also, his glasses go all the way around his head instead of ending at the frame. He wears a long fur coat with a green sweater and jeans. But, his mood is also darkened, hardly seen having fun. He's too busy with the current situation inside him, both the Negative Spirit and regret (coming out and the family he lost). Two totally different characters. Makes sense they are on different Earths now that I look at itm
Pikachu Spartan It’s only “annoying” because you obviously have a problem with it. Nobody complains about heterosexuality being “shoved into” the media.
Kristjan Kangro Yah that’s fine, but you know that gay characters‘ sexualities don’t have to serve a purpose in order to be gay right? You know, just like in real life.
I'm glad the Doom Patrol have their own show and are more recognized. Every DC fan friend I had would always say they'd want to be part of the Justice League, or Titans, or even the Legion of Superheroes. They always thought I was weird when I said that I would want to be a part of the Doom Patrol. When their show came out, my friends looked me in the eye and said, "Okay, I think I get it now."
Man if only Larry was this happy in the actual Doom Patrol show, poor Larry keeps trying to get better and then something shitty happens and he goes back to self loathing
I know it was probably the fact that they were just trying to figure it out considering it was the first time in live action that the character was introduced but it still makes me wonder what the hell was supposed to be with slit in bandages . Because it is placed where at least what looked like was where his nose was supposed to be but at the same time when he talks the slit would open and close as if it was his mouth. I don’t know it was weird then, it’s weird now and will more than likely be weird in the future. Least they fix the slit in the bandages for the doom patrol series so it’s not distracting.
