_I say this again, glad you've saved this '75 convertible. I'll never understand how this beauty was put out to pasture in the 80s with just 71K miles, (and that the headlights still work)! Keep these videos coming Ben._

I love them but many of them were lemons. My parents 69 roadster with 46k miles sat since the late 70s until it burned up in a fire 2 years ago. People across the street had the same car that sat from the 80s.

I think people buy them ,and then their families grow, so they buy a four door an park the Vette. As we all know time gets away from us. Just a week ago I was 20 ,this week I'am 65. Know what I mean.

My first ride in a Corvette was from Montgomery, AL to Richmond VA (in the passenger's seat- I was 12). I've had a special place in my 'Vette heart for 74/75 Vettes ever since. It's great to see you giving these cars the loving care they deserve.

A factory non powesteering gear box will usually have a wider gear ratio to make it turn easier but require more turns, a factory power steering gear box will be a closer ratio and will require alot of effort to turn without fluid assist.

That ticking could also be a cracked flex plate. I had the same problem with my Blazer. The factory ones are thin and prone to cracking. It'll make that same ticking sound that will go up with RPM.

Ben, I'm working on a '75 as well and took of the original strut rods. I didn't take a picture of how they were before but they look identical to the ones on this car with a slight bend in them. Anyway you could tell me the correct way they go back on or take a picture of the correct way? I can't find any other pictures/videos of these specific strut rods or the correct installation. Are these also considered adjustable since they have the different lines where they attach to the differential? Love all the videos!

Great video again from you! I just have a question about the speedometer. I see it has MPH and KPH on it, and is that original or is it an option for this model?
@DavidBugea
@DavidBugea 3 года назад
According to posts on corvetteforum.com, the model year of Ben’s convertible (1975) marked the first appearance of a secondary metric scale on the standard US-market Corvette speedometer. Doesn’t surprise me, because I was in elementary school at the time and remember being taught that the US was switching over to the metric system by 1980. 😂

Another reason why I like to work on a Holley. I remember in 1977 I was going to order an orange Vette but instead ordered a 1977 Z/28 4 speed.
@briang4470
@briang4470 3 года назад
Dont let the looks of the quadrajet scare you, holleys are not that good of a design and have way too many spots to leak fuel and they have gaskets under fuel level where a quadrajet has a gasket above fuel level, if you pop the bowl off a holley on the side of the road and rip the gasket you are SOL but with a quadrajet you can tear the gasket and still drive home it may seep but wont pour out.
