I just accidentally ran into this and this is really amazing how they go back and forth like that.

This is the job I want to learn and do. I've been a lover of gemstones my entire life but always been very poor .....which makes me crafty and I've been able to buy decent value gemstones very inexpensively and verify them....but I am not a seller because I'm not super familiar in the market...I'd love if people came to me with what they want and their price range/budget and I could hunt down and negotiate the best deal I can for them for the quality gemstones they want

It's nice the way even when they were too far apart to make a deal they reach that conclusion pretty quickly without trying to nickle and dime each other at all. Like you might expect in a failed negotiation done by amateur traders.

I have worked in sales as a team leader, selling products to directors and business owners, ceo's etc. The world of gem selling looks amazing. I wish i knew where to start with it.

Living in Tuc-town is crazy, because aint shit here, except for a 3 month long world renowned gem show.... So like, cool I guess? Truth be told I've been talking MAD SHIT since I was young about oldies going to something as boring as a gem show, little did I know, they are a WONDERFUL place full of some highly intense negotiation which is just.... ugh, bestill my heart, love love love this shit.

You're a good negotiator! Your 4ct Colombian minor-oiled (without cert) emerald @ $8K/ct is pretty high, even for that quality. $750 for the African rubies is fairly good price in 2023. Maybe 5 years ago you can get it at $500/ct.

Crazy how much blood, horror and terror these gemstones been associated with and are now in the hands of pure greed. Lol! You can tell by the way these people behave during a conversation that they are greedy asf 😵‍💫. People should not get into this gem world without a mentor or money to loose. These people are like Mosqitos. But if you have experience like avi you can even smile when you are getting these disrespectful prices offered. Congrats. Somehow intriguing even though there's very little mention of the grading factors motivating the negotiations such as color, hue, tone, saturation, polish, symmetry, keel lines, facet junctions, etc., etc., only price and that he's saving for a wedding. LOL. You could probably say that buyers/sellers know each other so well that they know each others' qualifications and it's a level playing field......and this wasn't intended as a tutorial.

I would be so happy if u make a beginners guide video for people like me who are very interested in this but are afraid of losing money by buying something overpriced
