My «Negri Suite» (Allemande, Courante, Sarabande, Gigue), for Harpischord (Soundfont: Harpichord Zell)
Tuning is Negri - named after John Negri's «The Nineteen-Tone System as Ten Plus Nine». Interval, Journal of Music Research and Development, pp. 11-13 of Volume 5, Number 3 (Winter 1986-1987).
Here, Negri has been implemented as 19-equal division of the octave, generated by 2 steps out of 19 = 126.316 cents.
All the movements of this Suite go back and forth by a generator twice; more exactly, they modulate forth by a generator in part 1 (B to C) and in part 2 (C to Db); then they modulate back by a generator in part 3 (Db to C, via Eb, F, G) and in part 4 (C to B, via D, E, F#).

Im surprised a suite doesnt have a prelude. A prelude is pretty much a must-have for any suite. Either way, i liked it. Great job.

Thank you 😀And yes, agreed about the Prelude missing. Probably I'll add it in the next future, but I wasn't able to compose it together with the other movements (it was 19-edo month in the «Monthly Tunings» Facebook group, and that month was ending 😉)

Hell yeah! Very much like Bach bent into a different shape! This also sounds a little more realistic than other renderings you've posted. Do you need all 19 notes to play the suite? Im guessing no movements are playable with only 12 notes per octave? Sort of curious to try out a part on my harpsichord but imagine it would be pretty limited...

Thank you so much 😀 Yes, all 19 notes are definitely needed to pley the Suite, so that an isomorphic keyboard might be the best choice. Nevertheless, you can play it in a well-tempered system, or even in 12-edo, even if loosing a bit of its character (especially at the beginning of the second part of the Courante, where you have the two 19-edo tritones in succession). On the contrary, 12 out of 19edo won't work. Anyway, I'm setting up a blog post with the score of the whole suite 🙂

I wish more acoustic harpsichords had 19 notes per octave (I have seen at least one in a RU-vid video and even seen one with 24 notes per ocatve and one with 31 notes per octave, but these are all very rare).
