As a HOUSE DANCER, I’ve battled Neguin in a cypher..he hit every beat and he had the house style down packed.. best I’ve ever seen. He killed me, but I learned ALOT during that lost. I battled him 3 months ago in Newark Nj. As far as this battle, I understand some saying “flexibility” is not apart of dancing, I know someone that houses that flexes a lot, but he’s never on beat and no one thinks he can dance. This other guy actually knew how to put his flexibility to good use so fair play. The people want to be entertained, signature moves entertain people if executed correctly.
I think it's his Capoeira training does its magic. Most acrobatic and power moves from B-Boy are from Capoeira, so, no suprise that he is good with them. But, in Capoeira, they are performed with music like a dance which is related to the martial arts' origin. Capoerista moves in accordance to the music's rhythm along with speed and power on every moves. So, his sense of rhythm and timing with the powerful moves must've come from there.
This is my first time watching Kriss, I'll be honest I clicked on the title because I saw Neguin and, well...Kriss actually killed it, he came off equally as skilled, but a lot more relaxed, he had fun, and he showed a likable personality I don't think anyone can top Neguin in terms of acrobatics but this is still a dance competition and dancing is so much more than physical skill... The number of times I've seen established legends like Neguin lose to someone who, in theory, is weaker than them just because the other person let loose and had fun is very high
Not to be rude, but “dancing is much more than physical skills” applies for Kriss as well, with all the flexing that characterizes his style, there was little musicality from both, tho the music selection was not the best.

my first time watching him too. this is a bboy that is unique, has great athleticism, dyanmic moves and great musicality. why was he never invited to participate in Red Bull BC One?
Never get tired of watching the details in this match. Neguin is like this panther quick on the attack and Kriss is like Gumby in how he flexs with his sense of humor in his moves. When N touched the bear, Kris got serious. I want to see more of Kriss on the floor
Neguin's power moves are as good as anybody in the world, when he starts flippin that fast and shit, there's almost no way to match it. But Kriss is so unique! So clean, that weave into the table into the handstand and then that wtf one handed crab move.
As fãs as power moves go Neguin is as good as they get. That said the musicality, artistry and style that Kriss brings is the evolution not just of breaking of dance in general
I'm Brazilian, but holy shit, what a DOPE PERFORMANCE Kriss made. Neguin decreed his own death when he took Kriss' Bear, and Kriss buried him when he picked up th little Bear back being super gentle to the stuffed animal and charismatic to the public. I loved it!
this is a MEGA BATTLE of B-BOY, much respect for NEGUIN he is so impressive and quick, but KRISS is insane, this two guys are CRAZY STRONG, BIG UP for them
Golden Yang Well,I grew up with the old school boys in the 80‘s.It‘s always worth it to see (social media)who they really are. It‘s not only about the moves.I‘ve seen so many b-boys with lot of skills, but zero passion and flow.
Haha 😂 none of kriss moves were original or that technical. He just had the crowd on his side cause they never seen flexible bboys before doing tricks and combos
Sometimes if u know how to work the crowd u get their respect! Smiling gets u more love than bboying all angry n tuff. Idk Kriss is unique and super creative love the style!

Both of these guys were fantastic which created such an awesome battle. Probably one of the best matches. It is so painful to watch battles with a huge gap in skills. This one was interesting & fun. They both made it look way too easy. The amount of time they have spent evolving their skills etc was definitely not wasted... SUPER!
With much respect for both, Neguin killed it as usual. I can say that he was lucky to get those beats because they fit with his style very much which I'm madly in love with!
I can see the influence of issue in the way Kriss dances and also some of his moves. He is dope. I think Neguin took this though, matched him on dynamics and originality, but rocked better
@@Bboyrex8 Yeah pretty much...See quite a lot of Issue influence in his stuff, as well as other influences. Would be interested to see Issue in this actually...He has got even more charisma than Neguin.
Well i loved this moment 3:00 Even if he loses the battle he wont be disappointed, because he know i was the best and he declared winner himself WOW !!
I was looking for bboy beats and some annoying inspiration. But stumbled on some suicides and saw Kriss. As soon as I saw him vs Neguin, I was like YES! I'm definitely watching this lol good to see Neguin is still a beast, but also seeing some new faces.
I'm glad they ended the video there, because I don't wanna see who's the winner because they're all good and I don't know who wins that one anyway,it's hard to choose both of them are soooo goood!!!respect to both!
Kriss won me over. Finally, I see a challenger as spectacular and athletic as Neguin but Without the cockiness of Neguin. Kriss just had a smile on his face the whole time and no arrogance and Still kicked butt anyway.
Essence Kymatic Essence Kymatic sorry I upset you man. I just came to this battle from seeing Neguin throw a dude’s hat in the air in another battle and then not seem remorseful at all when it landed on a light post. He just comes off as arrogant to me. It’s just an opinion, based off looking at his facial expressions and the way he hounds people in the middle of their round compared to how he reacts when they hound him back.
georgecbrr thanks. In the past I never got that vibe from him at all but just observing him this time around when hounding people in their rounds and doing things like grabbing the teddy bear or in another round from this competition tossing a challenger’s hat several feet in the air and then laughing about it. People who are secure don’t need to do that. They just let their talent speak for them.
Cant think of anyone as powerful of a breakdancer as neguin its effortless for him, kriss is like lilou, but I got to admit I was more impressed with kris
Mr.Jasaw as a bboy dancing for over 10 yrs, I think Kriss is more free and creative in this battle. U sound like a traditional breakdance fanboy who just started bboying while knowing not much about dancing.
Lemon CC I agree. Look at some late 90’s battles you saw more creativity. Now it’s all foundation, which is cool, but be honest, OG bboys had greater diversity of style and current “foundation” is actually a small part of the styles of breaking. It’s like the favorite styles of the OG cats that stayed active, not a bible
Coming from a bboy stand point of view neguin had a little more originality in his movement especially when the event incorporates dances other styles on purpose and getting out of your comfort zone and it didn’t really seem like kriss did that at all it was mostly because the crowd isn’t used to seeing stuff like this live it made kriss edge neguin out a little just because of crowd decision and not an actual judging system where you have actually people that have a reputation in that area of dance
@@kimssamuu9963 He just means there aren't any qualified judges judging this since the judges are just the crowd. Most all style event have proper judges
Neguin actually he opened up his style and used a lot of his regular set movements. Also kris has basic movements than let's just say he borrowed from Bboy flex , isia and others if you look closely. Also just ran check flares for half a round , but he was just dancing so no offence. Regular bboy judges this would be landslide win.
Adrien Gadson I’m just saying as a dancer who’s been to many events and is in the community there’s usually reputable people judging and not just people that came off the block or others who will hold a certain bias towards one dancer either from them being from the same place same crew(espcially if you have your WHOLE crew there which could be a lot of people in one crew) just being able to judge at the same time and especially with that many people there could be some sort of problem in this event that you just can’t see...
That is what I am saying also. So ppl there just ooh and ahhing and really don't know what they are watching or where it came from. Not dissing kriss, but from an older educated bboy any good coment.
I prefer Neguin's style to Kriss's but I give it to Kriss. Round 1 was a tie for me, but I felt Kriss had a better 2nd round. I don't get why people are mad about the bear or because they think Kriss is a nice guy. This is about dancing, none of that should matter and I don't think he meant to get personal he was just trying to be creative I mean all he did was pick it up and put it on the floor lol stop crying like babies.
its kinda funny that you mentioned the fact that its a dance battle under such premise. I would argue that Neguin danced and showcased way more musicality than the other guy, who frankly if you've been watching circus / flexible style since early 2000's I didn't see him do anything I hadn't seen before, which would have been fine if he did the moves with some personalized rhythm and character, but it looked like he was just in a bboy battle. So for me i'd say it was a dance battle not a bboy battle and im surprised this crowd forgot that, but then again they aren't hip to the fact that homeboy wasn't doing anything original in the eyes of bboys who've actually seen all that circus / flexible shit already. Also Martial Arts is not what Neguin was doing :)
@@DjRiverTv capoeria is technically martial art i think😂, but no neguin is doing more than martial art showcase let's be real here. Also yh kriss got some not so original stuff, especially that kid-david slide in the end, or issue's flare kick. But yh kriss still has amazing stuff to offer.
Bboywizard haha ya that kid David slide I feel was done before by someone else just can’t put my finger on it right now. The only form of fighting or self defense that involves a live band playing instruments #breakdancefighting #dancefighting #capoeria
